Why can't you Denny? I assume it has something to do with the Serbs V Croats?

Pretty much that's it. While much of the tension has settled from the War in the early 90's, there's still a lot of Serbs and Croats that are still very hateful towards each other, and me being Serbian and going to Croatia would be a risk regardless of my completely peaceful nature regarding the whole situation.

It sucks, because I'd love to actually see all the Balkan areas without being fearful of unnecessary hostility from random patriots.

Montenegro and the coast of Budva in particular I can recommend. I went there when I was about 15 and yeah it was absolutely stunning. There's a lot of amazing scenery down in those parts of the world.

Mike: I was born in Aus, parents and sister in Serbia. It doesn't matter though as because of the mere fact that I have a Serbian last name, it can cause some issues.

Just an example of how the same event can evoke two different responses between an adult and a child. Or as you get older the simple things in life that brought joy now bring about disdain.

I suppose in Australia, switch the snowfall to a heatwave where if it's too hot schools can shut down for the day and you get to stay home but as an adult you still need to go to work regardless of the heat and you might not even have airconditioning.

Yeah, it's not so applicable to Australia itself, but we can certainly relate to that feeling. icon_smile.gif
