Fuck I love that Beetle.
EDIT: Fourth dungeon is easily in my personal top five Zelda dungeons. Beautiful, creative, great puzzles, fun item, interesting progression and topped off with arguably the best boss fight in the game. Loved every second. _________________

I'm only up to the 3rd area, but 5 seconds after gaining control of Link, and not even leaving my room yet, I feel in Love with this game.
So much goodness.
Really confused as to who said the world was sparse. It's Jam-packed full of stuff. _________________ "If at first you don't succeed, then skydiving is not for you."

So question time.
Is the flying in this game like the sailing in the Zelda game set in the oceans and if so is it more like the sailing in Wind Waker where it a bit more relax or Phantom Hourglass where it more hectic. _________________ Currently Playing : Atelier Iris 2 (PS2), Xenoblade Chronicles (Wii), Legend of Heroes : Trails of the Sky (PSP), 9 Hours, 9 Persons, 9 Doors (DS) and Final Fantasy XIII (PS3)

Well, I guess it's KINDA like sailing, but there's not much enemies at all, easily avoidable and you don't have to change the wind constantly. That and there's not that many other islands to visit. _________________

Thanks for the heads up!
Every so often Nintendo adds an awesome redeemable item to the Stars Catalogue, and when they do, I grab handfuls of games and hunt through to find the ones not yet registered to my account.
After I've registered the first I remember why I never do it unless it's to redeem something, those surveys are so damn repetitive. _________________

Need star points now!
you can get points for buying a 3DS right? The Zelda one might give me the last amounts I need for this. |
Massive thanks!! First time I've actually used the 3200 points I've had just sitting on that website. Can't wait for them to arrive.
Have been playing a fair bit of this while also juggling all the other games I am currently playing (Skyrim, AC: Revelations plus a couple of others). Really loving it, just getting the key parts to get into the second temple. _________________

I would kill for that Link + Epona gold statue that the EU store has. Or just to have a physical copy of the Mario Galaxies OSTs.
At least we have a Kirby pouch?
I feel like the filter effect does more justice to the art style it's based off, but I can't help wondering what it would look like if it was applied to everything and not just objects in the distance.
There really needs to be an instant text option. Other than that, I can't really fault the game apart from little nitpicks that would only benefit me and me alone such as the difficulty level being too easy and it's still quite easy to spam the sword attacks despite the game trying it's best to make the player use deliberate strokes and swings.

Well, I registered for this. But I have a question.
How can I get the posters shipped to a PO Box? I did read that they could on their support forums.
EDIT: Maybe that was the US support. Bugger.
EDIT 2: Club Nintendo uses Australia Post, right? Maybe I'll just have to pick it up after they leave a card. _________________ "If at first you don't succeed, then skydiving is not for you."

I swear I rely on the sky lightbeam move too much >_> I was doing dramatic raising arm holding wii remote in the air until I realised that you can just tilt it up to charge it lol _________________

The swordplay is excellent but the slight input delay does annoy me a bit. I agree with some of the reviews in that it's not perfect. It's really really good mind and adds a lot of technical analysis to each fight. I'm amazed that Nintendo got the sheild mechanic so right though. It's responsive and easy to use. TP had a horrible implementation of this.
Just half way through the 2nd temple @ 12 hours. I love the whole outside puzzles before the main. It's really fun and well designed. I want to explore everything! _________________ Shin J Leon.

People actually use the shield in Skyward Sword? It's become clear to me that Nintendo wanted the shield to become less relied on like it was in other 3D Zeldas, but the endurance meter takes so much damage even with upgrades and the fact you have to bloody shake the nunchuck to change Links' stance has made it useless to me. I just equip it for looks.
Most humanoid enemies can be easily dispatched with a Skyward Spin Attack to Fatal Blow combo anyway.
Plus points for the game for including the Scattershot from Oracle of Seasons. Too bad I can't shoot Fire Seeds.

You can do a counter with the shield though that stuns enemies and doesn't take a hit to the endurance meter, which becomes quite useful as the game goes on. _________________

Yeah I know, but I can't be bothered waiting for an enemy to swing just to dispatch one of them, when spamming the horizontal spin attack will quickly shred most smaller enemies and hacking away continuously against bigger enemies such as moblins will do just fine.
To each's own I guess, but I don't have time for stylish kills when there are places to explore and loot to acquire.
On my way to the 2nd flame. It's great that you can explore the world beneath the clouds and all, but it's a big shame that they haven't focused on the relationship between Link and his bird. Knowing Nintendo, I bet they'll shove some major backstory right at the end, but it would of been a nice focus as was established at the beginning of the game.
Also the general store person is a freak. I don't care if I can become rich from his night store.

There is an amazing 15-20 hour adventure nestled among Skyward Sword's 32 hour duration. Charming characters, gorgeous music, clever dungeons and exciting boss battles are tempered by so... much... fluff. Really good, but Ocarina of Time still takes it.

I remember something that Jarrod said that summed up the Zelda games past OoT perfectly (it might have been in the OoT 3DS review, not sure). Every single Zelda game from MM onwards has done something far superior to OoT but when looked as a whole, it just doesn't meld together.
Which is why OoT is such a good game, as the sum of it's parts make for one breathtaking experience.
Not that Skyward Sword is bad, but you are right, there is a lot of unnecessary fluff and some seriously archaic game design that just annoyingly persists throughout the Zelda series.
I have no idea who's idea it was to bloody make the description box pop up for every single item that isn't a green rupee every time you start up the game, but it is horrendous for breaking the flow of the game.
