• Grenades now drop to ground if you get killed while attempting to throw it(note the affect this will have on Hardcore mode!)

Yay!

• Increased the damage of Helicopter Miniguns, AA guns, and Jet Cannons against infantry

Figgin' finally! Seriously, those things are basically hyper speed 50 cals and it takes about 20 direct hits to take someone down.

I played a few rounds this morning and I can see an increase in visual stability already. Now all I want is for them to introduce the 2 second invulnrability thing on revive and spawn they had in BC2.

I wish I could actually play this game at all. Since launch I have been getting a repeating message "You have been disconnected from EA online". This usually happens after about 5min of play and results in me being kicked from the game I'm in.

I think I'll just boycot origin from now on.

I hate Origin also, but I've only ever had one disconnect. It must be something in your hardware or software.

Yep, tried the update, tried the reinstall, forwarded ports, mucked around with the router, deleted folders, followed about a dozen help threads from EA, chatted to live help, uninstalled other programs, updated punkbuster, then cried in frustration. None of it worked.

I actually used to get the same issue with BFBC2, although it only happened every hour or so, not every 5min. Which meant that it was playable, BF3 is not. Especially since it takes >5min to load the damn game and join a server.

Hey guys. Any prospective jet pilots looking into how to improve themselves, I uploaded a full unedited round of me flying the jet on caspian border. I showcase an impromptu landing when my friend calls me on skype and ruins my recording audio, then take off again, few helicopter and jet kills, one jeep kill, and one kill with a guy parachouting out of the jet I just disabled.

Final score was 18 - 0. Was an average match but the othersides AA was not as effective this round so this was sorted handed to me.

So, I am usually playing every second night....not once have I seen any of the ~15 or so PALGN platoon members playing. No one on my friends list seems to be playing it either. Would love to jump in a squad with a few PALGNERS once in a while but it looks like everyone has pretty much abandoned it.

It has its problems but to me it's one of the funnest FPS games out there, Battlefield has been, hopefully people start hopping back on after the map pack next week.

Lack of ingame voip has really killed it for me.

BF2 worked soo well due to this. Being able to com with teammates in real time and more effectively than typing is really necessary in a game that tries to promote teamplay.

Battlelog voip is at least something. But if you join a game without friends then you need a better way to communicate with your squad.

Ugh... Battlelog keeps asking me to update even though Origin says my BF3 is up to date. I guess I've got no choice but to uninstall and download everything again...

EDIT: Scratch that.. I've tried to close and re-open Origin and now it's not accepting my password after changing it. I've had to change my password 10 times over the past 2 days just to play BF3 and now I can't even update or play it. Origin really is the big pile of shit that everyone makes it out to be.

EDIT #2: And after 3 password changes later and closing and re-opening Origin, BF3 is downloading the update. Guess I won't be playing until tomorrow.

anyone on ps3 with B2K been able to find any hardcore conquest ranked servers with the new maps?
i have been playing on B2k servers (hardcore cq) but they have only been the old maps.
really annoying that the only hardcore options i have found to play the new maps is every other game mode except conquest.
doesnt make sense why they wouldnt just add them to the circulation with the other maps in any b2k server

So, kind of mixed feelings so far with the new maps.

Is there such a thing as 'too big' these days? Maps are freaking huge, they really can only be properly played with 64 players.....and the queues last night for 64 player servers were crazy. Saw you on Alex but your server was always full.

Was on a constantly losing team, and when you're on a side that constantly loses, you can see more problems. MAJOR spawn problems with the 'conquest assault' game mode, if you're losing majorly, it gets to a point where you can only spawn in an area where EVERYONE is currently attacking. I was on 11-0 on Strike at Karkand in a tank but died and we only had one objective controlled. Queue 10 spawn-deaths at the final base location.

It's like they're massive maps, yet most of the 64 players always seem to be in a single area. The maps themselves are awesome, it realy puts the original maps on offer to shame, but it seems there's still plenty of problems that need fixing?

Anybody else have some thoughts on the new maps?

I played omen lastnight, I didn't mind it, still yet to play the other maps.
Overall omen felt good, although i was to busy trying to fly a chopper, and i'm not very good at flying.

I agree w/ MrCool37 though... if you're being dominated it's really hard to claw your way back.. especially if you're stuck on an aircraft carrier and the opposing team just has tanks lined up on the shoreline.
