I've never been able to get into the pointer, it's always way too finicky for my liking. Esspecialy when a game doesn't require you to use it constantly since the way I sit I never have the pointer pointing at the screen, then it quickly asks me to use it and I'm like "SHIT!" and have to find the fucking thing by waggling around like a tool till it recognises me pointing at the screen. _________________

My wishes are for another Croc: Legend of the Gobbos game to be made. Make it like the first one with the simple platforming and exploring elements. Even as an arcade game/remake that will be epic for me.

Disappointments
Final Fantasy XII onwards
I've been a Final Fantasy fan since the release of FFVIII. It introduced me to RPG games and to this date, remains one of my all time favourites. Since then, I've gone back to play and finish all FF games from 1 through to XII. All of them bar XII and XIII have immersed me in their respective world and drew me into the story. Don't get me wrong, I thought XII was great. But it didn't have the same pull and magic the others did. It may have come down to the characters, the music as Nobuo Uematsu had left Square or the battle system, but whatever it was, it didn't feel like the usual traditional FF game. I didn't even bother much with XIII, a few hours into it, I really had no drive or interest to continue with the game. Again, it didn't pull me in like the previous games.
I thought, perhaps it could be that I'm getting over JRPG's but I didn't have any problems being immersed and drawn in when playing Lost Odyssey, Eternal Sonata or Tales of Vesperia. I guess my perpective of it is that Square is losing it's touch with the Final Fantasy series. They've lost key members of the team that made the first 10 so great or perhaps it's a matter that what the new team is producing isn't for me but I for one miss what the series use to be.
Nintendo Wii
First of, I really enjoyed various games that were released on Wii and had a lot of good times with the console. Zelda TP, Metroid 3, DK, SMG 1 & 2, Mario Strikers and others, have provided me with so much fun. I just really hated the fact that so much of the motion sensing aspect was forced on the gamer. I got over all the montion waggle pretty quickly and really wanted the option of just using the GC controller for most games. I understand that games like SMG required it as it played a big part on the game mechanics but for games such as DK, Zelda, Metroid I really wish I had the option to chose. Furthermore, I'm a bit of a graphics whore and while I have no complaints of the visuals on most Wii games, I know what Nintendo is capable in that department. SMG is a testament to that statement and given the Wii was packing similar hardware to the PS3 and Xbox, I have no doubt it would be one of the best looking games this Gen. I guess the bottom line for me is that I wished they really focused the Wii on easy development, hardware comparable to PS3 and Xbox, rather than focus on motion sensing.
Killzone 2
I was so hyped for this game when it was first announced and when the trailer first came out, it blew me away. It was a completely different feeling when I finally got the game and was left feeling very disappointed after all it's promise. I felt it to be so bland, uninspiring, clunky and such a chore to play. Needless to say, after a total of 3 hours of gameplay over 6 months, I just gave up and now it collects dust on my bookcase.
Wishes
Wii U
I really hope Nintendo delivers with this one. There isn't much information available on hardware specs but with rumours of a new Xbox being unvailed next year and Sony working on a new Playstation, I really hope they develop hardware that is on par with what the next gen console's are offering. I would also like to see an overhaul and futher development of their online network and also offer traditional game pads for all games.
Revenge of Nintendo IP's (F-Zero, Star Fox, Pilotwings and development of new IP's)
If the Wii U turns out as I'm hoping it does, I'd love to see Nintendo release games such as F-Zero, Star Fox and Pilotwings to their maximum potential. F-Zero GX has gone down as one of my all time favourite games. It was brutally hard, looked gorgeous, played exceptionally and had the music to go with it's insanity. I'd love to see this and the other mentioned Ninty IP's to make a return in HD glory. I'd also like for them to develop brand new IP's on the Wii U rather than releasing several Mario spin offs.
Star Wars Rogue Squadron
When Factor 5 went the way of the Dodo, the thing that bothered me the most was that any chance of another Rogue Squadron game was gone with them. That is unless some other developer can aquire the rights to series. In any case, I'd love to see it's triumphant return to the next gen consoles and blow us away like Rogue Squadron did on the Gamecube. Include some of Star Wars classic dogfights like the battle above Endor, Death Star trench, Battle of Hoth, Battle above Coruscant, Battle above Naboo and new missions.
Final Fantasy Remakes
I'd love to see FFVII, FFVIII, FFIX all remade for the next gen systems or on the next gen handhelds, similar to how FFIV, FFIII have been remade. Please let it happen damn it!
New Gradius, Ikaruga game
Konami and Treasure, you need to make this happen. Gradius V was brilliant and Ikaruga was utter madness. I would love to see shumps come out in force in the not too distant future. _________________

Disappointments
Battlefield 3
It had the hype, the technology and the potential to be really, really good. But it didn't happen. Game came out, I played for a week and promptly stopped playing. It wasn't an enjoyable experience at all and still remains feeling clunky and buggy. My FPS needs to be polished especially with hit registration and this game missed almost everything I wanted. Basically it sucks and DICE after all these years still haven't learnt how to polish up their netcode and general bugs.
Wishes:
The return of Legacy of Kain
I'm a gigantic, festering, drooling fanboy for this series as I grew up playing every single one countless times, and a new one needs to fucking happen. Defiance answered a lot but left us on a questionable note, and I want to see what happens. Bring back Kain damnit! _________________

Biggest Disappointments:
It was sad to see Sega pack the Dreamcast in and quit the console race.
The discontinuation of the Shenmue series was a bit disappointing too.
Nintendo choosing cartridges over cds with the N64. Maximising profits by forcing outdated hardware on their fans. There are some real gems within the N64 library, imagine what they would've been like with decent audio and if developers had had an extra 500+MB for textures, fmv etc
When I got to the end of Soul Reaver and found out that the story would be continued in SR2, I was like WTF??
That the Tenchu series got boring.
MGS2. Raiden.
Wishes:
Skyrim GOTY Edition with improved foliage draw distance, character models, textures, lighting, shadows and reflections... all running at 1080p and locked at 60fps on WiiU. Map and menus all on the touch screen.

^Wishes, on the WiiU? Don't hold your breath. I don't think it will be powerful enough to do Skyrim the way you imagine.

Okay, everything I said, except they can use the 360 textures.

I wish for more games in the Crusader: No Remorse and Crusader: No Regret series. Nothing more cooler than a bunch of over the top weapons and cheesey FMV acting! Couldn't we do a third person game in this universe? Total environmental destruction and all that jazz? _________________

Oh my gosh, you have my signature if you ever start a petition to get that game series back....loved the destruction and the music kicked just as much a$$
For me the biggest disappointment for me has and will always be the lack of Australian released RPGs...it seems unless I am a FPS fan (causes dizzy-spells for me), I have to import most of those games.
I'd say the biggest disappointment for me this year though would be Mortal Kombat getting banned for sale here in Australia...sooo lame...
My wishes would be for another Capcom Vs SNK game. I really enjoyed the previous games and would love to see another one that pits the likes of Kyo and Iori against Ryu and Ken...I'll be in the SNK corner of course _________________
