Going by imdb, the voice actor roster has more than tripled since Oblivion.
Nine people instead of three people isn't really a huge jump, though.
haha yeah the lack of variety in the voices was always my biggest gripe with Oblivion. I think they've realised it was a bit of mistake to blow most of their actors budget on Sean Bean and Patrick Stewart. The actor count has gone up with the last 3 TES games, but this is definitely a much bigger jump. From Morrowind to Oblivion it only went from around 15 to around 20.

The map is now kind of like a 3d, isometric view, instead of the paper style map from Oblivion.
The map actually bugs me a bit, as it doesn't give enough information about roads and paths through Skyrim. There's even bridges that it fails to show.
It's pretty to look at, but it could do with another zoom level or two to get some of the information I want from it across.
Not sure if I like the new map either. It's like looking at google earth instead of a roadmap to plan a trip. Just not very practical. Pretty though.
I'd also like to add, while I personally loved Oblivion, I'm really grateful to all the fans who came forward and said they preferred Morrowind. Without them, Skyrim probably wouldn't be quite as awesome as it has turned out to be.
Your followers in this are ruining it for me, their ai is utterly non existent....i am trying to sneak around and barbas the dog just keeps pushing you out into their sight, jumping around on your head while trying to line up shots, blocking the path....and lydia seems to enjoy standing there while being slashed to ribbons.
Pissing me off. The sooner i can return this idiot dog to it's god the better. _________________ kill, kill, kill.....the white man. Kill the white man, kill
^ I only play on the default difficulty, it can still be pretty difficult depending on what you come across. My level 24 still dies now and then when up against a difficult foe. At this difficulty though, it's not really necessary to take a companion everywhere, so I mostly travel alone.
I don't even like my horse. My character won it in a 'persuade' argument, but I was just trying to build my speechcraft, I didn't really want the horse. I keep leaving it behind in the middle of nowhere, but he somehow always manages to find me the next time I use quicktravel.
i play on master, which is default, the dog needs to go a looooong way to be returned to it's idiot owner.
I was amused by the drinking game quest, you wake up nowhere near where you started. _________________ kill, kill, kill.....the white man. Kill the white man, kill

You do realise the number 1 complaint about Skyrim is how horrible its menu system is, right?
I'm well aware of that and I think it's mainly petty bitching about insignificant bullshit. The menu is fine, it's pretty easy to use and the only complaint I have with it is it's a little slow loading.

Oblivion's menus weren't great, although there were mods (ie Beidermod) that made them a lot more usable.
You keep talking like everyones playing on PC, we're not, the mods you're talking about mean shit all to me since I played it on the PS3, the oblivion menu is more then 'not great' it was a complete cluster fuck of nonsensical ordering and stupid ideas. _________________
On console's the menu is quite good as it's designed for a controller. On a PC however it just doesn't work as well. Thankfully mods should fix that. I'm constantly surpised by how much stuff there is to do and how interesting it is. My destruction leveling has dropped signifigantly now. Looks like the best way to level it up now is just use trainers.

The last few days any time a cloud or a bird casts a shadow over me, it takes a few seconds to realise it isn't going to be a dragon, then i am disappointed _________________ kill, kill, kill.....the white man. Kill the white man, kill

I think most people are only bothered about how the menu is on the PC... On the PC its really fiddly because the mouse doesn't work properly. Although I said before to someone to just use the keyboard there are some things that are buggy if you don't use the mouse (such as selecting two-handed spells) and some things better with the keyboard, so you have to switch back and forth. There's also problems with leaving the mouse highlighted over something (which often happens by default when you open the menu) and then using the keyboard it will keep selecting the wrong thing.
I understand when you pick a side in the war it makes it not possible to go to certain cities/towns? Is that correct?
I've been wanting to play the war but I don't want to have the limitations during the quest line. _________________ XBL - myzz

Finished the entire story, every guild, 80 misc missions, 14 side missions, 54 dungeons, levelled up my one-handed to 100, got married to Farkas (Werewolf guy in the Companions), and killed 46 dragons in the space of 60 hours.
...Kinda want to start another character, but Skyward Sword is incoming. _________________

Speaking of mods, I wonder if this is still happening...

AusGamers: Is there any opportunity going forward to actually take some of the PC mod stuff and port that to console for console players?
Todd: It actually works. If you have a devkit console you can take the PC mod files, put them on your Xbox and they work. They actually worked in Oblivion, Morrowind and Fallout 3. For all of those games, I can take the PC mods and put them on my Xbox. We have one system so we just need to figure out the logistics of: How do we get it there? How do we secure it? How do we make it safe? It’s something that we would really like to do.
New patch came in on Steam today, and adds nothing but DRM and removes the Large Address Aware patch in that prevented a lot of people from getting the Crash to Desktop issue. Also, patching the exe now will not work; it errors up. Rofl. All over GAF atm, lots of people pissed off.
I've fixed it by disallowing the game from not updating on steam and using my backup exe from the previous version, but holy shit Bethesda, what a dumb move.
In other news though, I've managed to make my game look ridiculously nice and run fairly well too. It's not friendly to SLI/CFX setups and has poor scaling. _________________
As someone who is downloading now, meaning I will start with this new patch as a base, can I get around this? Was planning on running the LAA patch seeing as I'm all x64 and 8gb ram... and would rather not crash out mid rim =) _________________
