In a show of good faith I have decided to contribute to the cost of rejuvenating the site. My donation consisted of a princely 447 $poons directly to Disco dude.

Having worked at TheForce.Net for a few years way back when, I know what the problems can be with progressing to a new system and having the old one pack it in. But more importantly, keeping the people who make this place what it is happy, volunteering staff members and the readers themselves, should be of greater importance than trying to list every technical detail imaginable just to make you sound like you know what you're talking about.

I'd rather the site run at this pace for the time being then have you two working on it.
Seriously, the two of you should just go away and do something you want to do. The both of you clearly couldn't give a **** about the site, and that's a shame because it is a terrific community.

You know, valid complaints of demeanour and ettiquette aside, the man 'is' trying to help resolve the site sluggishness. Am I the only one that would rather wait to see the results before casting stones?
Edit: By "the man", I mean Disc, not Roland.

As a programmer myself, I know it's not a programmer's 'role' to answer multitudes of questions (though we do ask a hell of a lot). We're pretty much the labourers of the virtual world.

Doing a search of what the web host for palgn it seems to be AussieHQ http://www.aussiehq.com.au/dedicated_hosting
I searched through 3 different sites and they all pointed to AussieHQ.
So it looks like the owner just needs to upgrade the plan details to have the site hosted on a much more powerfull server with more ram etc.
There may be other costs involved but the host I am using "IPB" has no upgrade costs for something like this. Just the bigger monthly hosting cost.
Also with the use of google adsense here the costs should be covered.
My information may be incorrect. If so feel free to correct me.
EDIT: I was wrong, sorry. The domain name is registered with AussieHQ but the server host name is palgn.com.au. Since palgn is not a web host company it means that the server is hosted privately. I think.

People will normally seek answers from the person who is most visible, even if they don't have all of the answers.
Unfortunately, said people often become the sacrificial lamb to deflect the actions of less honourable men.

The owner is a guy by the name of Roland and his sidekick is Discosis. I wouldnt say he is picking fights (from what ive seen) but they both clearly have there own agenda.

So is the server upgrade still meant to be struggling at this stage? It's only been almost two weeks and already pages are taking more than a minute to load yesterday and today.
