Played for about an hour and a half..18% through the game. Then again, I've just been tackling the missions one after another with little dealings with side missions. _________________

This game feels a bit like GTAIV Over the Top Edition. It feels quite a lot more realistic than SR2 despite the over the top nature.Honestly I feel SRTT is what GTAIV should have been.
The graphics remind me a lot of GTAIV but more colourful and cartoony.
I figured this would be my GOTY and I sure was right.I absolutely love this game. _________________ Welcome to the internet. Where any joke can turn into WWIII.

Streaking Guido Master.
This game is amazing on PC. Fully optimised in every regard and is A Grade Eyefinity compatible out of the box.
So much fun. That being said I'm struggling to get off Skyrim to play it _________________

Argh! Oh man, that is so good to hear - I was pretty worried about the quality of the PC port, after the SR2 one was a bit poo. Now if only I could get the damned thing downloaded! *glares at PC in an ettempt to speed up transfer rate* _________________

Iâm mostly enjoying the game so far. No out right complaints, but there are some disappointing things.
First is the way they changed how the chop-shops are done. I liked being able to get a list of cars they wanted and then being able to do them in my own order. Also, when you choose to do a vehicle theft, it doesnât matter if you have that car in the garage; it still makes you go to the district it tells you (while driving the car it wants). Even if you get out of the car when you get to the district, it still makes you find and steal another one. I do like that it also asks for water and air craft now, though.
Another disappointment is the small number of different weapons per âclassâ of weapon and the small number of vehicles. Yes, you can upgrade the weapons and cars, but it just isnât the same of being able to try out all the different pistols or SMGs and find your favourite one.
Heh. When they said they got some ideas from Fallout 3, I didnât know they were quite so serious⊠The first time I saw what was pretty much a Super Mutant running at me with a mini-gun, I yelled âHoly crap!â
Haven't been able to work out how to do nutshots yet though.. _________________

It's actually a pretty good looking game, particularly in motion.
I have to keep it at my second highest res though for Eyefinity as it's a tough game to run. DX11 and using both my GPU's out of the box and yeah, still difficult because of its scale, though a good portion of my performance hit is a bottleneck on my CPU.
More devs should certainly take a look at this game and see how the standard should be for PC games, as yeah it's extremely well optimised, pushes hardware very well and supports all industry standards. It definitely means that if you've got the hardware the PC is the way to go due to so much versatility and stronger visuals. _________________

Just got it. Played for about an hour and a half, and got distracted for about a half hour of that running around streaking and playing with the Genki stuff.
Digging it a lot so far. _________________

Saw four mascots (in hot dog outfits) driving around in a buggy. I hijacked it and held the other three hostage while cops chased me, "You're the best around" by Joe Esposito started playing and I just burst out laughing. After I let them go I gave chase running down two and beating the other one to death with the purple dildo. It just seemed like the logical thing to do.
Of the new characters/homies my favourite so far would be Zimos. I'd love to know if he sings to songs on the radio as well. _________________

Yeah, Zimos is a bloody awesome character. Though, it was kind of confusing in his meeting mission how the buggys chasing after you blew up when you shot them.. _________________

14 hours playtime and I just finished the main storyline. That was pretty darn enjoyable. _________________

ROFL indeed, good chum. ROFL indeed.
So I started in on this last night. My first thought was 'ooo... it runs mighty nicely!' Having played the first title on 360, and then the second on PS3, this is a significant thing - as fun as they were, the SR titles were always plagued by shoddy framerates. But Denny had already put my mind at ease about the PC port, so that was more a fleeting moment of 'yaaaay'.
What struck me immediately afterwards, I mean - after stepping through some of the intro mission, anyway, was that The Third is a much more tightly, carefully scripted affair when it comes to storyline missions. That can sometimes be seen as a bad thing; too tightly scripted gameplay events in linear levels offer little in the way of gaming freedom. In this kind of hyper-sandbox world though, where you're dumped into relative freedom with an almost oppressive amount of things to do at first, it is a welcome layer of polish. This is an area that has really been stepped up significantly from the second title.
Although, being dumped into an open city with so many things to do and so little explanation of how to do them is in some ways a detriment. I found myself wanting to explore and dick about, having the kind of fun that draws me to these games, but getting put off somewhat by what appears to be a lot of work with little reward. This is an unfortunate trap to fall into, as I later found out - after jumping into some legitimate co-op madness with Denny and seeing what the later game has to offer I was totally energized to pump through the early game. So much so that I left and spent another couple hours well past when I should have gone to sleep just progressing through the game.
it's weird, and perhaps that was just my over-inflated expectations come 'round to bite me in the arse, but when I was faced with the calm before the storm it just left me wanting...
So, for anyone who picks this up and feels that perhaps it isn't worth the time because you're finding the early game a little underwhelming - please stick with it. There is wonder and insanity waiting in the wings. _________________

For what its worth, I've played this game for 5 hours now and have done I think 4 story missions (the ones where Pierce calls you, are those story missions?) and spent the rest of the time absolutely just dicking around. I haven't even done many side missions in this time (a couple of trafficing ones and a couple of others), I've just been having fun running around streaking and just generally driving around for shits and giggles (I've already filled the metre for driving on the wrong side of the road, and got the Bo Duken' acheivement for piss farting around in cars).
I absolutely miss the fuzz missions, though. They were the best ones in SR2. _________________

You fool, play it before your friend so you can rub in his face that you are playing one of the most fun games, if not the most fun game of this gen
Or just play it because it's so damn fun _________________ Welcome to the internet. Where any joke can turn into WWIII.

Oh, worthy of note - you get an escort style mission pretty early on... and yet, it doesn't suck. I actually went back and replayed it shortly afterwards 'just cuase it was quite rad.
ALSO THE HEAVY ATTACK BUTTON IS YOUR BEST FRIEND FOREVER. (go watch the 'awesome button' trailer for proof) _________________

There is also the issue of the siren call of Skyrim... it's just so big....
Anytime I tear manage to tear myself away from Skyrim it's usually time to spend time with the missus cause she's feeling bitter that I love skyrim more then her.
that probably isn't actually an over reaction on her part either. _________________

Man, fucking Skyrim. it's quite thoroughly destroyed my social life this past week or so. Still doing so.
And now we have Saints Row and other games too. Gah.
But doesn't matter, weekend with gf AGH. _________________
