There are other familiar spells other than the fire Atriarch and the wolf summon right..
I'm about 10 hours into the game and nobody seems to sell any spell books I didn't already get. And yes, I started the quest to join the mage college but they didn't have anything new either :\ _________________

^Don't have the game yet but the answer is yes, check the incomplete list of Conjuration Spells (UESP Wiki - Skyrim). Also note in the website | Quote: | | Note: Some spells will not show up in a vendor's list of spells until you have reached the required level to cast them. For instance: Phinis Gestor will not sell Bound Bow until you have reached Conjuration level 50. |
Edit - Looks like you will need to take a trip to Winterhold for these spells. _________________ "Work hard now, play even harder later"

Just realised I've been playing exactly as I did in Dark Souls. O_o
Purely melee, no magic. Just hit Level 29 (Level 80 One-Handed, Level 60 Blocking and Heavy Armour) and still having a blast. My save file just ticked over to 32 hours.
Finished the Companions, Thieves Guild, and Stormcloak Rebellion.
Companions have definitely been the most fun so far. That said, Dark Brotherhood was easily my favourite guild in Oblivion (laughed myself stupid with half of those quests!) and I've just done their initiation quest in Skyrim, so fingers crossed that they'll be just as memorable as before.
So yeah, trying to have this done and dusted before Skyward Sword comes out. Not trying to rush through it (quite the opposite; I've spent half of my time doing misc quests and random sidequests) but at the rate I'm going, I expect to be finished the main and guild quests by the end of the week. Plenty of time to go after the remaining achievements. =D _________________

Hmm I said Adept I mean't Expert. I switched around 4-5 hours in. Anyway I let my cousin play for a bit. He picked a sword and heal guy and just wrecked guys. Seems like he had fun but he just followed the story for a bit (boring). Now I really want to create a new character either a sword and shield guy or a sneaky thief guy.

Just interested in how long everyones managed to play Skyrim for so far. I've played it solidly since last Thursday and I'm sitting on
21 Hours.
Having fun, not trying to rush too much.

My only complaint about this game is the glaringly obvious mistake in the subtitles at one point, where it said 'their' instead of 'they're'.
Still only played around 7 hours or so, haven't really been able to play at all except for Sunday. So looking forward to when this week is over and I can put a lot of time into this game. Going to play it so much over the 3-4 month break I have coming up.

There are a few wrong subtitles in one of the Thieves Guild quests. As in, completely wrong. Almost like the voice actors decided to improv and they didn't modify the written script. _________________

Man, I really love this game but I think I've kind of burnt myself out. I've put in around 50 hours and I'm at LV 34 with 100 Blacksmithing and 80 Bow. The insane thing is I'm yet to complete a quest line! I've done a handful of story quests a handful of Companion and Thief guild quests and got accepted as a Bard and the rest are all the little misc quests and single non quest line deals. I'm now starting to chip away and focus on the thieves guild, I don't think my mind can take much more random fetching from strangers.
I think a part of my stall has come from the fact that I can pretty much print money because of my smithing and I'm pretty much on the cusp of having the best gear yet there's still so much more "main game" left. I'm starting to feel like I should re-roll and go through the quest lines before I essentially grind all the little nothing missions and leave myself no room to develop further.
Again, great game but I've essentially been unintentionally grinding for 50 hours _________________

I think I'm starting to realize is the amount of content in this game is insane. Far more than Fallout 3 and a lot more hand built than Oblivion. Really thinking of re-rolling and just clobbering guys with an axe.

A thief runs up to me... well straight past me up to the top of a hill. He then turns to face a me thats not there.
A dialogue box appears.
"Hand over your valuables"
Because he's up there and I'm down here i politely tell him to f*ck off.
That moment wolves jump out of the bushes and attack him.
lol, I'll just be on my merry way!

has anyone had one of the assassins try and kill them yet?
I've apparently got a contract on my by the dark brotherhood from... the worst assassin ever.
I kill a bandit, then see a lizard person crouched over staring at me.
I'm all like "Uh... ok..."
Then she summersaulted towards me, and I confusingly stepped back. then she kept summersaulting at me. So I started shooting her with arrows, but she didn't get up or run at me or anything, just more summersaults while I slowly walked backwards turning her into a pin cushion.
Also couldn't loot the armour off her which sucked cause it looked really cool. Kind of like the ninja suits from MGS.
Also playing on PS3 had a really irritating graphics glitch last night, was doing dungeon got to the end and got my word of power (FIREBALLS MOTHER FUCKER!) and then the room locks and a whole bunch of drugar attack me. After a while of picking them off from a high vantage point. When the textures started dissapearing from everything and being replaced with this really bright blue, and it was flickering everytime something moved. I ended up having to run around shooting blindly into a flickering mess hoping that particular flickering mess was a zombie. Managed to beat it still but it was a fucking pain in the arse. _________________

I've had about 3 groups of assassin's from the Dark Brotherhood come after me. Strangely though if I go to my stats it says that I've completed one of the Dark Brotherhood quests, even though I don't remember doing that at all... _________________

Having a similar graphics problem on the PC Benza, every now and then everyones clothes turn bright purple and their faces go all dark in specific rooms, but reloading the game fixes it.
This game is just riddled with bugs lol. I've had NPCs going boss-eyed, a dragon I killed appeared in mid-air in a town and fell to the ground, quest markers not showing the correct place, crashest to desktop, getting stuck inside walls, not letting me deselect a hand of magic without applying a weapon to it first, bugs with the UI, items turning invisible, and biggest bug was game breaking because it prevented a character from talking to me or opening a door for me and I needed to download a fix. _________________

weirdest one I've had so far was I was fighting a dragon, ran through a little valley into a hut to take cover, killed him looted him etc, went back through the valley to the other side and their was another dragon skeleton there.
Still had the one back by the hut there was just another one over there.
That or the Draugrs managed to find and kill another dragon while I was killing this one... wich also would have been awesome. _________________

This seems to happen in rooms with a certain kind of ice texture in them. I see it consistently (purple, gourard-shaded armour) in certain places and nowhere else in the game.
The worst bug for me is that there's some kind of crash bug that occurs every so often when the game goes to write a save file. Most often it happens when the game autosaves after entering a room, but it'll happen if the game autosaves when I'm out in the world, too.
Really annoying, although I have to commend Bethesda on how quickly the game loads. Aside from their own publisher logo, there's no front matter at all. It's a nice change from some other games recently where you have to sit through like five or six unskippable screens before you get to the title screen.
In fact, load times overall are excellent. I don't think I've had to wait longer than 2-3 seconds to load anything smaller than a city or large cave. It's a huge step up from Oblivion which would take ages just to load the interior of a building and sometimes even stopped to load while you were just wandering about the game world. _________________ Twitter | XBL: Tamaaya | PSN: stormo | GameCentre/Steam: StorminNorman

on the 360, it often tells you it is autosaving after fast travel and then it doesn't do it _________________ kill, kill, kill.....the white man. Kill the white man, kill

I've so far had it happen in one room that verry likely could have had the ice texture, but also had it happen in whiterun where I don't think there was any texture.
I also had the ground from underneath the blacksmith in whiterun dissapear, and not just a visual thing but seeing characters step into that space and just fall off the world. _________________

My crashes and texture issues completely disappeared on PC after I enabled the .exe to use more than 2GB of memory. For anyone who has more than 4GB of memory, use this Large Address Aware patch on your .exe (TESV.exe) and it should resolve most of the strange CTD's and artifacts that you get. Make sure you backup your .exe prior to this though just in case.
This should not ever cause you more problems though, usually just resolves a lot.
Also, I'm almost at 100 Destruction now. Also got Conjuration at 80ish which is pretty fantastic.
It's seriously mind blowing how good this game is. I was very skeptical when they announced it as I was fairly burnt by Oblivion but the game really does live up to its ratings so far and tops Morrowind IMO which is a big thing for me.
