Will this be $79 at JB? I noticed it says $99 on the main site but $79 for the online store, guess they just haven't updated it yet? _________________ Wanna go to space?

Jim Sterling is one of the biggest wastes of e-space ever - the guy basically just writes reviews that sit outside of the norm to generate hits/traffic/controversy. I'd not put any stock in his writing, and wait for reviews from somewhere more trustworthy... like anywhere. _________________

i think he makes valid points and most people just go oh he is trolling now... i think the gaming media has pretty much turned into a giant paid for circlejerk.
you mean like ign. (haha beaten)
he makes a lot of points in the review that will probably give me the shits... _________________ kill, kill, kill.....the white man. Kill the white man, kill

Yeah, nah - you have to be pretty careful and critical when consuming gaming media, and that goes doubly here. Taking the extreme opposite tack of 'paid for' reviews does not equal good reviewing, it just means equally shitty reviewing.
I haven't read this one, maybe it's better than usual - point is I'm not going to, because I hole him in roughly equal regard to IGN reviews... in fact, I'd probably rather read an IGN review. _________________

Sterling is a half half thing. Sometimes he'll actually point out some genuine flaws like in his BF3 review, but other times it's because he's not a fan of the genre or is a complete turd at the game (see: Witcher 2 review).
Haven't read the SR3 review but I've bought it anyway and I'm keen to see what the fuss is about. _________________

Maybe I haven't read enough of his pieces to see the ones with actual, relevant, and useless criticisms in them - I went through a handful of ones where he just went to town on the stupidest shit, and had a big cry because he didn't understand the mechanics (Castlevania review... ), and generally layered shit on solid titles for seemingly no other reaons than to have the review stand out on the Metacritic page - that was enough for me. _________________

Pre-ordered it from Harvey Norman today, I hope I'm not too late to get the pre-order DLC. I hate how the pre-order edition has that stupid thing printed on the case though, ruins the whole front cover. Hopefully it ends up being a good game though. Borrowed the first from a friend and played it a bit, bought the second when I was kind of over gaming so only put a couple of hours into it, so this will be the first Saints Row I play a lot of (hopefully).
Anyone up for some co-op on the 360? Don't think I'll have anyone to play this with, and it's a great game to muck around in with co-op.

Yeah I went in to EB to ask if it had been broken but no luck
It's gonna suck because I have an appointment just before work experience so I'll pick it up either before or after my appointment so I will have the game with me at work. Will probably be the longest 3 hours ever _________________ Welcome to the internet. Where any joke can turn into WWIII.

Yeah, I got an appointment with my Job Network Supervisor tomorrow afternoon and then I have class which ends at 8.30.. so I'm looking at it being at least 9pm before I can start playing, since I live out of town.
I'm hoping the pre-order octopus gun and stuff isn't DLC cause I'm stuck on dialup and there's no real way that I can lug my TV and PS3 into town so I can use my mobile broadband (no mobile reception at home. Bloody hills!) _________________

That's EU release date (18th) not Aussie. Never heard of them, are they local or international? _________________

International, I guess - they do digital downloads and CD keys, so I've never paid much attention. Oh well, It'll give me a little more time to get UC3 finished... if I can stop ragequitting. _________________

Isn't that always the way? You just want to play the pretty pretty game, but real life is just mooning you and going neener neener. _________________

I love this game.
I wasted about 20 minutes just sucking pedestrians into the manapult just to shoot them into oncoming traffic/street signs/buildings/other people etc.
It's a real shame that you can't replay missions. I'd love to be able to show off some specific missions to friends who know very little about Saints Row. The 'Party Time' mission in particular I thought was really cool.
I hope I'll be able to drag myself away from it to play some AC: Revelations later tonight. _________________
