While perusing through various websites, making sure I hadn't missed any announced release dates (I did miss the Mario Kart 7 one) I happened to come across this at EB Games:

(EB has the Australian Classification on the cover, I couldn't embed their picture.)

Curious. I wasn't aware of any new Kirby game called Kirby's Adventure, but it did look suspiciously similar to Kirby's Return to Dreamland. I wondered "My how odd - I must investigate this further!" and proceeded to read the product description.

EB Games Product Description wrote:
Kirby and his friends are back in an adventure designed to satisfy longtime Kirby fans and beginners alike. When an alien spaceship crashes in the otherwise peaceful realm of Pop Star, its pieces are scattered throughout the land. Players must guide Kirby as he retrieves the ship's parts and helps the aliens return to their home planet. This time, however, he's not alone. At any time, up to three more players can join in the fun and play as Meta Knight, King Dedede and Waddle Dee to help Kirby in his quest.

Kirby's powerful Copy Ability returns, allowing him to inhale, spit and transform as he encounters enemies.
Players can deploy classic and new abilities, including:

Sword: Kirby dons a green cap and wields a sword.
Beam: Kirby wears a jester hat and can shoot energy from a magic wand.
Whip: Kirby wears a cowboy hat and can lasso enemies.
Leaf: Kirby is surrounded by a whirlwind of leaves.

The game also introduces new Super Abilities, which are activated when Kirby inhales special enemy characters. For example, the "Super Sword" Super Ability allows Kirby to swing a giant sword and wipe out an entire screen's worth of foes.

Up to four players can enjoy the action together. (Additional controllers required and sold separately.) They play cooperatively to progress through the game and collect Point Stars and Ability Stars. Players can join and leave the game at any time.

My that's definitely a description for a game I know as Kirby's Return to dreamland.

So I ask. What?

Is there a reason for this (did we not get the original dreamland and hence cannot return to it?).
Is it for the same reason we got Super Star as Fun Pack, although we didn't get Super Star Ultra as Mega Fun Pack (which would have been awesome).
Is this the efforts of an EB Games Photoshop competition? (the classification covers some words on the cover)
Am I being ignorant and has this always been the name of the PAL version of the game? (Most likely)

What are your thoughts?

Expected December 2011.

Kirby is on an adventure. On the Wii. It could be a hell of a lot dumber.

Okay, I'll admit that icon_razz.gif but what was wrong with Return to Dreamland?

Superstar > Fun Pack
Canvas Curse > Power Paintbrush
Squeak Squad > Mouse Attack

PAL Kirby games get dumb names, US Kirby games get angry eyebrows. Its just what happens.

I've always thought Europeans must be pretty confused between Mass Attack and Mouse Attack icon_razz.gif

Dumb PAL name, but a good game at least. I'm looking forward to getting a copy. icon_smile.gif

Tried finding the cheapest price for it online.

Not listed on any site except EB Games, despite being out today. Maybe it's an exclusive? O_o

It's $59 in the Target catalogue, so definitely not an exclusive.

It's... exactly what I wanted.

A Kirby game packed with charm, a decent amount of challenge, and some sneakily hidden collectibles. Love it. =D
