NG+. Entering the Asylum Demon fight from up top. Drop, do a plunge attack. One hit him.

Has anyone here joined the Darkwraith covenant at all? Thinking it might be fun to go through and do the evil ending. _________________

Darkwraith is fun. It's the best way to pvp as well and giving in humanity for the dark armour is worth it for its sick look. _________________

For 2 hours I tried killing Four Kings in NG+... impossible. At SL 100, I fear my character is simply too unbalanced. I need to up her END and VIT. For the time being, I'll leave Four Kings and come back to it later. That's quite frustrating though, I really wanted to join the Darkwraith.
The Four Kings though, any suggestions of how to beat those f'ers.
If feel like I'm cheating on Dark Souls if I don't get Platinum before playing something else... she's an evil mistress.

If you have a pyromancy glove and iron flesh then they should be much more manageable.

Four Kings is all about tanking their crap. If you don't rely on Iron Flesh or Strong Magic Shield (which should be only used if you're learning really), equip Havel's or Stone Armour set for the damage mitigation and poise, go in and just whack/cast wildly until they die. I don't even bother dodging and I just drink a Flask while they are swinging at me.

Levelling up my endurance is by far the best choice I ever made in the game. I can tank and roll around with Stone or Havels, on top of being able to block many attack chains.
Mind you, since my PS3 doesn't seem to like connecting to anyone for PvP, my skills are basically rubbish. _________________

Four Kings isn't too bad. Kindle the Firelink Shrine bonfire to 20 and just get in there. There's plenty of time to heal up between their attacks.
Only issue is not being able to deal enough damage to keep it as a one on one fight. If you can't do that, especially in NG+ you're screwed _________________

^ Bingo. I'll level up some and come back to it.
Had some annoying experiences with it. Once I fell it and stupidly took off my Abyss ring rather than the other ring I had... The other time I fell in with two co-op players along with a whole bunch of signs on the ground, the frame rate ground to a halt then crashed. Yay.

I can confirm after being one hit by 4 kings with havel's armour set on when summoned into ng+ that it doesn't work that well =) they hit brutally hard. _________________

Joined the Forest Hunter covenant and finally did some PvP with the Cat Covenant ring. Kept on being thrown in to this one guy's world, would cast TWoP and run up and belt me with some glove that for some reason I couldn't block or roll away from.
Honestly seems worth upgrading faith to 30 so that I can cast Vow of Silence in PVP. Which is really rubbish, TWoP only needs 18. _________________

anyone managed to get Siegmeyer to | Quote: | | live in Ash Lake? I did everything correctly but he ended up being dead and his daughter crying after giving me the titanite slab in Ash Lake. I like his battle roar when trying to help you in Lost Izalith though XD |
edit: Iaito+15 + Crystal Magic Weapon = why did I not think of this glorious combination earlier which surpasses +5 lightning weapons. _________________

Can anyone recommend a weapon to supersede the Drake sword? Everything I've found so far is either half the damage or it has ridiculously high strength requirements (32-50).
Currently on 24 STR and 16 DEX. I have an assortment of titanite stuff and I think two embers for the blacksmith. I haven't used any reinforcements or anything like that yet.
I've rung both bells and I'm currently in the Great Hollow. I've done a little of Darkroot Garden and Basin, but the bosses I came across were too much for me. _________________

in the next area Sen's Fortess you can get the lightning spear and you'll never use the Drake Sword again =) make sure you don't double K-O the mimic or push it back onto the elevator. Also in the fortress you can get a ring which doubles your item find chance and with that you can go back down to blight town swamp area and farm the worms for easy green shard and large titanite shards. _________________

You have plenty of options. Sunlight Straight Sword +5 Fire/Lightning from Sunbro (kill Solaire), Balder Side Sword +5 Fire/Lightning and Barbed Straight Sword +5 Fire/Lightning if you like inflicting bleed damage.
Note that all the blades mentioned above are all in the same class as the Drake Sword (Straight Sword).
For Greatswords, the Claymore is probably the best weapon out of the lot, and one of the better weapons in the game. Ultra-greatswords, the Zweihander is the chosen favourite for it's devastating R2 attack (knocks targets to the ground). You'll have to modify your playstyle to use these.
Other choices include the Washing Pole, Falchion, Winged Spear and Ricard's Rapier.
Basically, if you plan on investing Vit and End early and just levelling your other stats to equip gear, find a non-unique weapon and make it a Fire/Lightning +5. And since patch 1.04 isn't coming around anytime soon, scaling weapons are still going to be fairly outclassed by these 2 upgrade paths.

My son got this for 360 today (convinced him it was a good b'day money purchase) and it froze within 10 minutes (enterence to helgen keep) - not getting any prompt for the "launch day" patch. You guys are playing pc version??
EDIT: clearing the cache seems to have helped _________________

Wrong game emech. That's Skyrim. Not Dark Souls.

Oops. That will teach me for not checking what window I'm typing in. In dark souls news, NPd US figures for oct show it as 6th. Best selling beating FIFA 12, forza 4 and Madden! _________________

Glad to hear it sold so well.
Looking forward to From Software announcing Project Sodomy, the harder spiritual sequel to Dark Souls. _________________

It's already shipped 1.5 million copies. That's already more than Demon's Souls lifetime IIRC. _________________

Cheers Oropher and WarAdept.
I've just managed to get out of the Great Hollow and Blighttown (both as horrible to get out of as they were to get in). And poked my nose into Sen's Fortress. I'll try and get that lightning spear, but in the meantime I've started working my way to getting a Divine Claymore. I don't plan to up my dexterity much more, so I'm not really suited to the curved swords/spears/rapiers. And I picked Divine because I plan to get a decent amount of FAI and I don't seem to have access to many other upgrade choices just yet. _________________

I recommend the divine great scythe. Fairly good damage at +10 (482 at 30 STR/20 DEX/32 FAI) and its R2 attack is amazing. Makes the Catacombs a fair bit easier since the skeletons don't reanimate
Really good catching people rolling in PvP too.
Funnily enough I was fighting a dude in the kiln who was using the Lifehunt Scythe and we were going back and forth for ages, flipping all over the place. Eventually he has me on the ropes and I've got a magic pixel of health left. I go 2 handed and we're pacing around each other and I'm thinking I'm definitely done for. I say well whatever screw this and do R2 attack which is a charging slash and we double KO each other lol _________________
