Mass Effect: Invasion #1 just landed on shelves. So far, I would say it is shaping up as the most promising Mass Effect comic series to date. Mac Walters' seems to have constructed an interesting plot with some very interesting character dynamics. And, for once, he doesn't seem to hurt the series' continuity. I'm really digging the art style (some people may say otherwise), and the story looks like a good prologue to Mass Effect 3. _________________

The fanboy inside me wants wants wants.
But Evolution was so unbelievably bad I'm pretending it never happened, as it pains me to know BioWare let their lovely franchise get abused that way.
The colours do look nice, and that is one damn nice cover...
Anthony if I buy this and it turns out to be crap, retconing Garrus into a squirrel or something, I'm going to murder you dead. _________________

Death came to see Garrus after the rocket incident and said his time had come. Garrus looked at Death and said, "Can it wait? I'm in the middle of some calibrations." _________________

If anybody wants to hear Mansell's piano piece from the beta without watching spoilers, and in better quality than the off-screen video, you can do so here.

^ In wikipedia | Quote: | | All pre-orders of the game will be accompanied with the M55 Argus Assault Rifle bonus weapon, with retailer-specific bonuses available as well.[105] Anyone who pre-orders the game from GameStop will receive N7 warfare gear and anyone who pre-orders the game from Origin will receive an AT12 Raider Shotgun. |
I'm still waiting for the news of a launch party before pre-ordering Mass Effect 3 Collector's Edition. I should probably go buy and finish Mass Effect 2 DLCs as much as I dislike the DLC concept. _________________ "Work hard now, play even harder later"

I'll be getting it from The Pirate Bay.
Not interested in Origin.
EDIT: Actually, I probably won't bother getting it at all. _________________

Am I the only one that despises this "pre order at OUR store and you'll get these awesome items to make your playthrough easier " crap? Especially if price matching forfeits it anyways, or at least it did at EB. _________________

Despise? No. It makes good business sense to offer bonuses like this to try and secure more sales. In return, we get extra content. It's a win-win situation. I don't think the stores are really thinking about price matching, people who make use of it would be in the minority. If you don't like the idea of using the bonuses to make the game easier, then you don't have to use them. _________________

What I dislike is chopping up the game and offering chunks, no matter how small, as bonuses at various retailers, with no real ability to acquire them all. It degrades the perceived quality of a 'complete package' that you're supposed to get when you buy a game, and is one of the worst retailer trends in recent memory. _________________

See, I don't look at it as chopping the game up. I look at it as retailers offering bonus content which was developed for the very reason of being offered as bonus content by retailers. EA probably commissioned it for that very reason. Of course, we'll never know for sure, but I don't see it as a reason to despise them. _________________

Considering all the pre-order DLC was released later on as DLC packs later on i am not going to bother shifting my pre-order from EB to Game for their better pre-order bonus

'First six hours' previews now out on the web, courtesy of Game Informer. I figure this signals the BioWare/EA floodgates, as the two spend the next X months pre-release spoiling the ever loving shit out of their game with official previews and media, just like they did with Mass Effect 2.
Allah be praised for media blackouts. _________________
