I might end up buying the pc version first and get a console version (most likely 360) later on. Too many games in my 360 and ps3 collection that currently need to be played and finished. I'm starting to feel this way on pc as well (as well as lack of hdd space!!).
But i am very pleased that they finally have giving Sonic the treatment he deserves . Fantastic review, i'm in a Sonic mood now.

I'm disappointed in myself. I was at JB, picked up Uncharted and Child of Eden and was holding Sonic in my hands. I was flooded with memories of 'the good old days', Emerald Hill, becoming super sonic for the first time, the first time I bumped into Knuckles... then I put it down.
I'm too swamped with games at the moment, I wouldn't do it justice. We shall cross paths again.

Don't forget about. I'm really enjoying the modern spin on the classic Sonic I grew up playing. Great game. _________________

Honestly I'm prefering the modern sonic portions then the classic ones.
Also fuck me that loading time is a killer. _________________

So, I downloaded the demo on the strength of this review. Disclaimer: my only previous sonic expereince is limited to opening levels of rush, adventure gamecube and the were-sonic one. MAN the "classic" 2-d - my eyes can't keep up... guess level memorisation is the key to avoiding frequent enemy collisions? Was impressed to notice several path diversons while playing the "new perspective" (and the speed seemed easier), although I felt it was an inspired by themed level rather then the 3D conversion that i was expecting.
Will need to see if I can get used to the speed before commiting retail $$$ to it, but do note that its only $50ish on ozgameshop...... _________________

It was nice to see I'm in the game, kind of. Barely.
The 'Happy Birthday Sonic' you hear at the end of the credits was recorded at the Sonic Boom E3 party, which I attended and got completely smashed at and thus had no problem joining in with the shouting at the end of the evening. _________________

I'd buy it on PC, but I can't imagine playing a Sonic game using a keyboard...it wouldn't feel right. _________________

10 years ago you would have been saying the same thing about it not playing right on anything but a Sega controller. _________________

That's just... odd. _________________

I'd plug in an Xbox controller, but I don't have a wired one. I've never been able to get the wireless ones to work. _________________

PC version is so tempting just for the mass savings. $30 on Greenman Gaming is a steal. _________________
