I have a question. When I go to "my soldier". I can only customise for the American sides weapons etc. Can I customise the Russian side weapons etc or is it all automatic?

You can if you are on the Russian side in game, but I have no idea about from the main menu.
And that's one of the things I love about Battlefield. If you want, you can still get a great score without focusing on killing. Though of course half the people don't know this and won't try to help you at all. I'm sure I haven't been revived once :\

Thanks for that. I will have too look closer next time I am on the Russian team.
I have been revived a few times and it took me a while to work out how to use the defibrillator before I finally revived someone.
Dont know if it's possible but it seemed like I revived an enemy once and then he killed me lol.

The IR scope is stupid OP, put it onto a high rate of fire weapon with alot of rounds like say the oh uh M249!!!!.. and you will just ****.
Curious to see what happens when everyone on every server gets wind of the IR's effectiveness and everyone has pseudo-ESP hacks.

I find it to only be useful at very close range, and I tend to keep enemies a bit of a distance away unless I need to.
This on the other hand is a deadly combination. 24:0 using it.

Anybody having disconnection issues?
Multiplayer is becoming unplayable, guaranteed every second game I play I'll get disconnected from the server at the halfway point. So I'm unable to play a full game of any mode from start to finish.
I really wouldn't know how to fix this, there was some advice in some forums suggesting I switch off UPnP in the router, but that hasn't done anything.

Today I was getting more than usual disconnections. Its probably because the Aussie servers are maxed out atm.
I would never turn of UPnP. Not sure how anyone would think that would make things better.

deffinetly can make a difference on the ps3, i know that from personal experience, soon as i turned it off i had alot less problems, got rid of alot of disconnect problems with a alot of games.
it also helped with something else, that i just cant remember at the moment.
but without it, it hasnt made a difference to anything else so i dont see the problem with it being off.
i have been having a few problems with knifing someone while they are prone
anyone else being having this problem? i doubt its lag or anything like that, because i have zero problems with them crouching or standing, just prone

Guys, I'll admit it. I'm pretty well, not so good at this game. I've never been great at shooting games, but manage to get my K/d ratio to around .8 at least, but so far after 3 hours of this I'm not even close.
It's my first shooter on pc, but I was hoping to be a bit better than this.. any vids or sites I should watch/read to help me out a bit?

Honestly.
K/D ratio means nothing. My K/D ratio is fucking awful but I can still get in the top 3 point scorers on the map.

Jump online with me and I'll help you out.
The key is movement, awareness of surroundings and strong aim. Learn to control your weapons aim/recoil and learn its drop off rate.
Also as Benza said, it's not about KDR. I've got nearly 30 MVP awards now, some from TDM and being a mass murderer, but a tonne from just general objective capturing and squad support.

Yeah its more about the W/L ratio I reckon. Like my friend will get 14 kills and 2 deaths and I'll get 6 kills and 7 deaths, but I'll still be higher then him because I actually run to Mcom stations and heal everyone etc.
It's all about your squad/objectives!

Yeah my KDR in BC2 was terrible but It wasn't odd for me to be in the top 3 scorers either.

It's why I prefer Battlefield to CoD. At least here, I have a chance of being competitive, either through a good run with the rifle in my hand (keep an eye out for bottlenecks on certain maps, for example. On a good day, you can get a handful of kills per one death), or knowing the surroundings (fastest ways to get from one capture point to the next) and keeping an eye out for when a spawn point is under threat or open for capture.

Will do if I see ya on. I think you were playing hardcore last time I was on, I am not ready.
I should have explained a bit more, it's not so much the that I care about the K/D, but I think I'm making some bad decisions, get timing wrong and just not the best shot with a mouse ( I guess that'd come with time.) Last night I was picking up more points in CQ dropping health packs and reviving squad mates, but then would ruin it by walking into bad spots.
