Ah Blighttown isn't so bad. Apart from some of the lag it's easy.
When you hit Lost Izalith, that's when you'll lose hair. Fuck that place unless you know the shortcut like I do. _________________

Blighttown ain't so bad. Apart from that gorram lag. Seems to be every time the water shows (approach New Londo ruins to see what I mean, and even the magma in the Demon's Ruins suffered), so I don't buy the official explanation of inefficient AI. _________________

How are you supposed to fight Stray Demon when his axe pretty much covers the entire area?

I'm at blighttown, made it to bonfire (Thank God!) explored around and found a circular room with a large sloping aqua duct thing with no water. I'm finding it hard to see the ladders! But when the creatures climb them to get to me, it helps with the identification! _________________

Try to get behind him. You should be able to get a couple of hits in before you need to back off (his swing shouldn't get you).

Thanks, I think that may help. His fire breathe? is a pain too. I hate cramped battles.

Yeah, you need to stay back whenever he breathes fire, about a tails length or so. Once you get behind him all you need to worry about is staying there, he won't be too difficult after that.

I've killed Sif, done the painted world (OropherX - I didn't find it too difficult) so am at a bit of a loss where to go next. Suggestions? |
I'd recommend going through that big orange door next in Anor Londo to Duke's Archives. I went through there and found it alright. It can get a little nasty at points but as with all areas in Demon's / Dark Souls the first time around you just need to be aware of your surroundings.
Managed to complete catacombs - the boss fight was unusually disappointing, but I figured I was overlevelled for the area by that point. Tomb of Giants is annoying as I can't see two steps in front of me and fell once or twice to my doom there. I'm going to need that light source (hoping I can find it soon). Also, skeletons falling down several levels there doesn't help when you encounter them again later :/
Also joined the Blade of the Darkmoons so I can now invade any guilty players (evildoers beware!). I'm currently in the Painted World and attempted to invade in that world - I managed to invade twice against the same guy but he had pretty nasty stuff - some lightning damage sword. He also used a spell to slow me down to a crawl and basically get free backstabs against me, killing me in a mere matter of seconds >_<. _________________ Recently Finished: Legend of Heroes - Trails in the Sky (8/10)

I was thinking the same thing about the light source, I believe Dusk sells a spell that may help.
And yes, those skeletons falling down... got me too...

I'm interested in doing some PVP but I'm concerened I'll have my lunch money taken with all the people abusing the dragon head glitch. I swear I see someone doing the haka every time I'm at Firelink Shrine.
Gave spider girl enough humanity to get the last pyro spell and opened up the gate to Lost Izalith (long after I finished it). What is the covenant of choice as far as PVP action goes? _________________

yeah catacomb boss was crap, it was just a messy copy-paste fight of Fool's Idol from Demon's Souls without the clever traps. I recommend buying 'cast light' from Dusk, it puts an orb of light on your head. _________________

Cheers, thanks for the idea - I'll get it once I find my way out of this painting. Will need to up my int though as I'm heavily focused towards melee but it'll be worth it just so I know what's up ahead. _________________ Recently Finished: Legend of Heroes - Trails in the Sky (8/10)

The Tomb of the Giants probably isn't as bad as you think, I just completed it without the light spell. You find a lantern early on which you need to equip in your left hand to light up the surrounding area.
I haven't found a new covenant in ages , but that's what I get for resisting to look at guides/wikis.
Hopefully I will finish off Lost Izalith tonight, although I'll probably just end up watching anime like I have been lately.

Halloween tonight, will this have a effect on the game tonight? Maybe the black knights re-spawning? _________________

Kill the Sun Princess at Anor Londo, then go human out in the entrance before Ornstein and Smough. Every few minutes you'll get invasions, no level cap but mostly SL 70's and such. Alternatively, go Forest Covenant and wear the ring. _________________

Not sure if I like holding a lantern in my hand whilst fighting. My ability to dodge attacks = fail at times , although of course I can always switch to my +10 eagle shield should I need to block attacks.

There are some lights set up as a guide in the Tomb. Follow those and shortly after they end you pick up the lantern.
Alternatively you can can get Cast Light from Dusk after you save her or the sunlight maggot which is a hat with the same effect as Cast Light in Lost Izalith _________________

Stray Demon (and Demon Firelord for that matter) must be killed by getting behind them ASAP. The firewind attack he does covers an 180 degree arc in front of him and extends to infinity. Be warned, that there are two attacks that he does that hits in an arc, a normal side swing that is fairly quick and the slow overhead smash.
It's the overhead smash that you must be wary of. It actually hits a little behind the boss so stop slashing the tail and back up and wait for the effects to finish. Alternatively, spam magic.
Killed the Four Kings as a mage. From all the hype they got as generally the most difficult boss, I managed to smack them in 2 goes. Word of warning, if you die, the closest bonfire is Firelink Shrine. Major suckage.
All that is left is Gwyn. But I'm having too much fun smacking stuff with my Lightning Zweihander tank character to finish the game. Might do a pure Faith build next, with the focus on Lightning Spear and Wrath of God spam.

yeah fight stray demon in close range only.
I just got Queelaag's furysword. It looks so badass. It's too bad my lightning spear is still stronger than it, not sure whether I should pump all my demon titanites into the furysword yet. _________________

I need to find a better sword...something as quick and light as the Drake Sword, but not as massive or dildo-ish at the DragonTooth....And it must obviously stack stats. Any ideas? _________________
