Same thing happened to me, they're doing Path of the Dragon soul glitch. I got about 3 mil souls when my Dex character was level 10 by beating some scrub, and I didn't want to ruin my character. Lost the souls on purpose.

Or you could use them all, up to you.

Travelling through (hopefully for the last time) the Catacombs and the Tomb of the Giants. Fought the boss there who I won't mention due to spoilers, but my god, was it easy. Now off to the last place I haven't been to, New Londo and beyond.

It was easy considering how annoyingly difficult it was to get through the Catacombs. That NPC killed me by flipping the bridge switch icon_sad.gif.

Oh Pinwheel was pathetic, but I killed him before I acquired the Lordvessel. Was talking more about the Tomb of the Giants boss, who coincidentally was even more easy than Pinwheel, despite his lore.

Is anyone getting random freezes? Demons Souls never froze on me, but I'm getting quite a few while playing Dark Souls.

I took a quick look at Tomb of the Giants but I couldn't see even 1 meter in front of me and a massive skeleton came lunging from out of the darkness. I guess I need some light spell?

I haven't got any freezes yet but the FPS likes to drop to <10 most of the time.

I've been getting several stutters myself and there are points where the game freezes for a second before it moves once again. Never had a complete freeze though (thankfully).

Speaking of issues, has anyone ever pressed R1 (attack) only to have it delay the action and then come out with the attack about a second later? I'm pretty certain I have not completed any other actions which would've delayed the attack and it's happened to me a few times now. It's quite frustrating when it happens.

When I attack, it appears nothing has happened and the enemy attacks me, then my character decides to attack as the enemy completes their animation, leaving me open to eat the damage. There has been a moment or two where I died from this. It can't be lag either as I've had it happen whilst I played offline as well when our Internet was down...

I'm not sure if I've had that happen but something similar has happened to me. Sometimes when I press L1 to raise my shield my character will perform a completely different action such as attacking or even jumping.

You can still explore the Tomb of the Giants without the need for the Sorcery Cast Light. An equippable item called the Skull Lantern is available not too far from the beginning of the Tomb. You just need to tread really carefully, following the light markers and be wary of the skeleton warriors/archers.

You'll also meet an old "friend" (assuming you played Demons Souls) right before you get the Lantern.

I haven't played my melee characters enough to notice any light attack delays, but my magic casting has been pristine so far.

wow how epic is the Anor Londo boss fight? I mean I can't get to the fight myself but I let someone summon me at the big door which is still locked for me =( I think that fight is easier with 2 ppl I took on one of them at the opposite end of the room as the summoner and it was awesome fun until..... yeah =p Also had my first 'no notification' invasion, pretty scary =S I'm a mage build so invasions are always bad news for me. I'm having heaps of fun with my lightning spear +2 though.

anyway I'm level 49, dragon covenant, anyone want to help me through the 2nd half of anor londo? Those silver knight sniping with massive arrows are giving me trouble D=

If you're a mage, I'd advise to keep Hidden Body with you when you're exploring new areas. It acts just like Ring of Fog, where in PVE the radius in which enemies notice you and actually attack is greatly reduced. That will help on the sniper spot in Anor Londo.

Otherwise, just run up the pillar, equip (Greater) Combustion and blaze the right archer as fast as possible.

I don't know about you guys, but I love being invaded, notification or not. The majority of my fights have ended with me not doing much as I usually have Crystal Soulmass on before they spawn so it makes for an easy win.

Ring of Fog + TWoP users, there isn't any way around it but to charge them directly and spam Combustion as a mage.

Another possibility if it is available to you is to equip a somewhat sturdy shield and run up to the right archer's face with the shield held up. With good timing the right archer switches to melee and attacks you, whilst the left one will shoot but hit the pillar.

Let the archer on the right wail on you with his sword. Don't attack him, just let him attack you. If you shift position enough, you should be able to make him fall to his death. It could be a bit of a problem though if endurance and shield isn't high enough to keep up with his attacks... :/

Unfortunately that's a problem. I myself as a mage haven't invested any points into Endurance, and whilst I do use a shield, my low Poise and poor amount of Endurance means I stagger a lot when hit with heavy attacks. I'm pretty sure OropherX as a mage relies more on rolling than shields.

Speaking of which, if you don't have Hidden Body, you can try Magic Shield. So cheers ember for reminding me of it.

He entered via the Basin, in which you can go directly to Sif and negate the need to spend 20k souls on the crest. But if he dies, the closest bonfire is the tunnel between Darkroot Basin and Valley of the Drakes. So he has to go all the way around to the Parish again, which he has, just so he can activate the bonfire in the Darkroot Garden.

Correct, If someone can remind me how to get to the bonfire in cave near the drake level, it would be much appreciated, will hopefully get some game time this afternoon. icon_smile.gif

I'm going assume you entered via the Berg by fighting Havel and going through the door. When you go down the hill, you can either go right to 4 Ice Golems and the lake where you once fought the Hydra (and subsequently the ladder to Darkroot Gardens), or you can go left, which leads to a lizard and two narrow paths hugging the cliff going up (again to Darkroot Gardens) or going down.

Take the path going down to reach said bonfire and the lift to Valley of the Drakes.

Both have happened to me, although I seem to find it only happens if I do an action with my shield right after trying to cast a spell.

I cleared the painted world last night, killed some demon titanites and now need to decide where to go. Demon ruins, catacombs or basin... hmm..

I had an awesome run this morning. Spent about 3 hours in human form without dying and killed Sif, Gaping Dragon and two invaders. Earned around 100k souls and upgraded my pyromancer glove to +12. Now I'm kicking ass icon_smile.gif.

You mages have such an easier time. I didnt even use pyromancy on my first play; as always I went purist melee.

That being said it'll be interesting to see how mages handle the new londo boss and the final boss too.

The fall damage before Nito is ridiculous. It was a real pain in the ass fight until I went terminator mode and casted Iron Flesh, walked up to him all slow like and let off all my Great Combustions.

I'm a full fledged pyro though so I consider IF as part of my arsenal. Put over 300K into my glove to get it maxed out, didn't level up for 20+ hours. Finally finished it off so now I'm gonna put some points into int and get some spells so I can run a hybrid sorcerer in NG+.

So if walking really slow and not taking any damage appeals to you, join the cult of the flame icon_biggrin.gif

i can't learn greater combustion because as I mentioned before first two teachers are dead and third one won't appear unless you upgrade your flame which i didn't, so yeah no pyromancy for this game D= there are a bunch of new spells I want to learn from Logan but I don't really want to talk back from Anor Londo to firelink shrine, especially since the shortcut in sen's fortress is nasty - as soon as the cage is down a lizard approaches you while another snipes you with lightning spells. I think I learnt hidden body so I'll try using that.

Also I remember my first experience in Anor Londo, 'oooh look a treasure chest, I wonder what's inside' -opens- *MUNCH* dies. Damn mimics =/

ZeroX, how's your endurance + shield (if you have that combo)? Not sure of your build but this is what I recommended earlier to OropherX. It's obviously better if you have a build suited to melee with higher endurance and stability but it's not always the case.

Also managed to progress further, defeating the Crystal Cave boss on my first go, so I was quite happy!

When I saw all those 'things' surrounding the boss beforehand I had no idea what they were. When my brother told me I was thinking (crap, that isn't good), but fortunately everything went ok. Now wondering about in the catacombs, which is much easier for me this time around now that I'm levelled up and know what to do.
