Paid, like the Robin DLC. Just means you can use him in challenge maps and stuff. Definitely not a Skin though, Robin had his own unique moveset, fighting style and goals in the challenge mode and so will Nightwing.

from the look of it he lacks anyway to glide wich is allready a huge difference.

If we could play Nightwing in the main campaign that'd be awesome, does anyone who has unlocked newgame+ know if you can use the alternative Batman skins? Like Animated or DK Returns Batman?

I honestly don't understand why you can't play as the alt charecters in the main mode. I mean I get why not in the story missions but what about just mucking around in the full world?

Yes lfergu11 once you beat the game you can roam around in alternate skins or do new game plus in them as well.
Maybe in the future they'll release some little missions, like Catwoman style. One can hope!
