If you guys want a digital download that doesn't require proxies or anything just buy directly from http://www.greenmangaming.co.uk/games/shooter/battlefield-3-limited-edition/.
My mate just did it and he didnt have to use any proxy at all, make sure that you do go to the .uk site however as this deal doesn't appear on the US site. The conversion according to xe.com/ucc is $52, better than $80 from origin.
Despite saying it is a pre-order, they will simply give you a key anyway once you buy it, add it to origin and as far as I know its unlocked for us aussies now anyway. If it isn't just use a US or korean IP they have it unlocked now.
As for the game itself, lots of rubberbanding lag on all servers , some have it more frequent than others and it seems sort of dependant on the map. This wasn't existant during the beta, or wasn't as prominent anyway, strange to see it now. Once they patch that hopefully this will be close to perfect gaming (close to perfect because the coms rose is just dreadful, more like comms block, clearly rushed haha) _________________ xfire = andylulz

So, this game is pretty amazing! Went to single player first, played 3 or so levels, and it kind of sucks. It is more linear than I expected, basically "Go to the marker" over and over. But the multiplayer is amazing. It doesn't feel like Bad Company 2, to me anyway. This will definitely be taking up a lot of my time, it's just so good. And isn't there 147 levels or something? That sounds like it'll take longer than BC2 to reach max level, which already took a while.

Yeah I'm really enjoying the 360 version so far. The game actually runs very well, pretty much as good a Black Ops does.
I'm also pretty new to battlefield games. This is the first one I have bought. The vehicles add allot of variety to fps games, and some of the maps are soo massive.
Sound is also amazing. So many different sounds from firing, receiving bullets, destruction, vehicles etc.
I am just concentrating on multiplayer atm. One problem, that I knew before I bought the game is, the reliability of EA servers. Its down again for the second time in 5 hours. The reason I am typing this and not playing right now. _________________

I'm not surprised about the SP, but I'm sure it will still be enjoyable enough. Who buys BF games for SP anyway. It needed it in there to compete with MW3 (and its quite clear that its laughable to even compare the two at this point (FYI, that's a dig at MW3)). But I would have gladly shelled out the money for MP only as the amount of hours I will sink into it will warrant the price ten times over. _________________

Have to agree. SP was boring but its picked up a little since the jet level. Multiplayer I haven't had a proper game yet but I still love it. The little thing like ships docking to drop off some tanks and all the jets flying around make it amazing.
I still think BC2 had better destruction so far, but I haven't really tested it yet, we'll see. I just got kicked off after leading my squad to victory which is why I'm here too. Silly EA servers. _________________

im getting that impression to even my online friends despite the name are expecting more of the same
i mean MOH tried to be different and if it had just been a carbon copy of BFC2 it would of been slammed BF3 the way i see it is its more toned back they said in an interview not long ago that they wanted it to be different and that the destruction would feel like a step back , that's why i cant wait till bad compney 3 as i have a feeling they will hold no bars and could be quite over the top and much bigger bugger mess then anything to date at a guess
BF3 seems like a love letter to the fans chasing a sequel to BF2 and to achieve what they have across both formats i gotta say it is something to behold , i wait in anticipation for the mail man to drop in _________________

Played an 1 1/2. First thing you notice is how good this game looks.
Anyway first map was the Grand Bazaar. Spawned in an alley way that was a killing zone. Ended up being methodical and finally got into the rhythm. Once I got my bearings managed to get into a APC and kill some people while capping the back flags. The central courtyard is a great place to set up and I got a few kills there. Overall I like the map but I don't think I will try to cap the alleyway much as that is a death hole. The entire map is tight but most concentrate on the center.
Next map on rotation was Caspian. Holy crap, the first time you see the scale, with jets and heli's overhead and tanks rolling though, its breathtaking. The map play's pretty well with a mix of infantry fighting it out while tanks come through and actually cap the bases. I didn't see the jets have much of an impact to be honest. Maybe once things get settled it will return to the domination of jets from BF2 but I'm not sure, I think they may have been nerfed too much. I think it wilkl be impossible to cap all bases so it will be a push and pull kind of thing which is like my favorite maps from BF2.
Last map I played so far was Seine Crossing. Didn't play it much but I like the mix of long range near the bridge area and much closer up in the alleys. I think smart players will realize the key to winning is the bridges but for the most kills the alleys are great if you have some skill. The map is great for players like me who like to go around capping bases. Anyway I think it plays fine but EA need to get there servers fixed up. Bit janky so far on the server end.

Server issues, shoddy hit rego, an occasional crash here and there for no particular reason.
Definitely a Dice game when it's got a somewhat buggy launch.
Had a good deal of fun tonight though, lots of chaos. _________________

Yeah those last few games were great, shame vent is being weird. Once I got into it I started enjoying it, I found this with beta too, the longer I've been playing the more fun I start to have, not sure why as it's the opposite to how I am with every other multi-player game.
Still not happy with hit rego, and little things like having super high sensitivity I don't appear to have control over when in vehicles is really annoying. It's pretty good, but just doesn't really justify the amount of hype its had, too many little things here and there that just don't feel finished.
Oh and battlelog seems to be worse than ever, I can't believe it even exists. At very least I don't see why they can't use their own browser they use for their store and have it work in a steam like shift+tab fashion. Instead by I have to open firefox, because by default it wants to start Opera (my default browser) which isn't even compatible. _________________

Had an amazing round on Operation Firestorm, which is one of my favourite maps. Me and an anonymous bro forged an unspoken pact to tag team the tank, taking turns between manning the wheel/cannon and the mounted gun, and drove around the map ruining everyone's shit.
Having him blow a hole in a wall, and then me mow down all the suckers inside, was immensely satisfying. _________________

sorry for my side lining as my games still not here but aside from metro which after the beta i want to stay well away from for a wili , firestorm just looked the least appealing from all the videos iv seen just dosnt seem like theres as much destructibility on that map more like a chopper / jet heaven ? it also looks like a bigger COD map kinda like the airport from MW2
if not highlights of said map ? _________________

There's not a whole lot of destruction in Firestorm, but I feel that like Caspian Border it highlights the best qualities of Battlefield. There's an awesome mix of vehicle, and combat stretches between vehicles and on-foot. It's quite vehicle heavy, but it feels good as there's tanks, jets, choppers, but they don't cancel out the usefulness of being on foot, especially the tighter industrial area where you can zip in between buildings. _________________

I liked Firestorm. It's long to mid range fighting and doesn't feel like CoD at all. Lot's of tanks and the choppers get shot down quickly. With 30 or so players on your team the chances of a chopper shooting you are unlikely especially when tanks are there as big juicy targets.
My best Battlefield moment so far came when playing the Seine Crossing (French map). My team were kicking arse and had pushed to their start zone. I was in one of the buildings that was highly destructible and mowing down dudes from above a bit above the pack when suddenly our tank came through in the street with a big infantry push. It felt like I was playing the singleplayer CoD4 level War Pig. Felt awesome.

I can't remember the map name, but there's one at night that starts out on a hill, and ends up in a small town. There's gunfire and AA in the distance. I was in the MG on a jeep and it just felt so cinematic. As a tank rolled past, it felt more like a scripted event than a multiplayer level, which isn't something often experienced in a multiplayer game. Also played the jet level of campaign. There was something about it that was quite awesome, but I'm still not a fan of how you die in a few bullets. It really is like two separate games.

Just been playing it on the PS3, definitely awesome. Saw no issues graphically or lag wise, well ok there was a little lag but it cleared itself up so it wasn't really a factor.
Played a few maps, experiencing the beta definitely helps but the vehicles are quite awesome. I played the PS3 beta so there was only that one map.
Haven't tried the single player yet, been busy entering codes, signing up to EA (for that battlelog) and what not, will play more when I get the chance. _________________

debating on weather to pick this up on 360 or PS3? After the HD patch is there much difference graphics wise between the two?
Also wondering what the online community has been like so far, BF is such a team based game that that's kind of important? _________________

You will always get a couple of duds on your team. There is always some retard that doesn't do anything team based.
Anyway, had some insane fights just then particularly with jets. I'm able to fly the jet pretty damn well and mowed down a few dudes flying a few metres off the ground then raising up. Also had a ROFL moment where I saw an enemy and allied heli ram into each other, both flip upside down as they bounce off one another and explode. Lost it. _________________
