They haven't said if that edition is going to go on sale or is limited to a competition yet but if it was on sale then i would be all over it.

Reviews pouring in now, current metacritic score sits at 95 with 18 reviews. 8 have given a perfect score, the lowest being 8.5 from Destructoid. It looks like being a genuine contender for GOTY, which is no surprise really.

Be warned that from what I've read there is a huge plot spoilers in the gamespot video review. The same spoiler that popped up on the net a week ago. It's one that you'll want to avoid at all costs, seriously.

Now the wait for a broken street date begins...

The HYPE trailer!!!!!!

In other news, Batman Arkham City Collectors Edition is going to be delayed for a couple of days in Australia as far as i know, but pre-orderers are well compensated (this is inside info so i can't get into any specifics, but retailers should have been in touch with people with pre-orders by monday about it, so it should be all over the internets soon). Standard edition game is still on track for being released on the 19th though

EDIT: Originally posted the official launch trailer, then saw it was posted half a day ago so put on the HYPE trailer!!!

Apparently JB have been given instructions to start selling this today. I haven't been able to confirm this myself, so don't get too excited, but I'll check it out after work.

Can anybody been able to pick up a copy today?

I wonder what the trigger point was that made them decide to release it early ?

I know it is great for it to be released earlier than planned, but i'm just pondering....... whether it's due to speed up the process so nobody gets spoiled in the storyline due to the recent "leak". Or if it was to beat a certain retailer to the punch (it is supposed to be $68 at Big W from this thursday), or if someone initially sold it early and thus the snowball effect had begun.

GAME won't sell me my CE because head office hasn't given them the green light to sell. Nevermind the official facebook and twitter pages saying that it's for sale *NOW*.

Edit: I have it. I personally wasn't aware that in the CE, the game disc was in the back on the art book. It doesn't come in a case at all. Maybe there's a DLC code for it to get shipped out to you.

Just ordered the steelbook edition from Ozgameshop, and I wasn't even planning to get it until like early next year or something, since I have so many games to play. DAMN YOU broken street date hype!! (maybe that's their strategy...)
