That trailer pretty much sold me. It really does look a lot better than the 3DS, a big improvement over the first PSP in my opinion, which I was never a fan of.

Interesting news!
| Quote: | Playstation Vita Games Priced, UMD Owners Not Quite Left In The Dust
Lucky Japan gets the PS Vita on December 17 of this year, for a whopping ¥25,000 (US$326). Its games don’t look like they’ll be on the cheap end, either. Famitsu has revealed that the card version of Uncharted: Golden Abyss will retail for ¥5,980 ($78), while the PSN downloadable version will go for ¥4,900 ($63).
Namco Bandai’s Katamari No Vita has been similarly priced: ¥4,980 ($65) for the card and ¥4,480 ($58) as a download. North America is looking at PS Vita cartridge games in the $60/$70 range, and it seems that downloads may be the way to go.
Dengeki Playstation has also published an interview with Sony Development Head Yoshio Matsumoto, who begs PSP owners not to throw away their UMD discs just yet. Sony Entertainment is planning to offer a service that allows owners to download their PSP games onto their Vita, at a “special price.” Since the PS Vita only plays cartridges or downloaded content, it appears the UMD will be phased out with the PSP. |

So, realistically, we're looking at $50-60 USD per Vita game. If that ends up being correct I think I may just skip the Vita. _________________

I'm fine with that price, it's no more expensive than PSP games have been. _________________

What? Psp games retail at $30-40 USD. $50-60 USD is the standard retail price for a ps3/360 game. _________________

Using Japanese prices for western audiences as an indicator may not be the best idea. You also have to take into account that the exchange rate is currently terrible, which makes direct comparisons a little innacurate.
But I guess we'll see what happens shortly. _________________

PSP games have gotten a bit cheaper now, but there's been lots of times when I've payed $50-$60 for one over the course of its life. The RPP for many PSP games is still $50-$60 in Australia. _________________

If we're talking AUD they'll be $80-100 based off those prices. _________________

If that turns out to be the case, then I'll just import (one feature that the Vita has over the 3DS). There's no way that I'm paying more than $60 for a handheld game. _________________

If you think that's high, just wait for the eBay prices for the Vita when the first batch launches in Japan... OH YEAH! I'm predicting $400+ for the console itself easy (probably higher considering there's no confirmed release date for other regions yet). _________________

I'm expecting a March release for the rest of the world. Sony stated at E3 that it would be out by the end of the year in Japan and by the end of March in the rest of the world. _________________

Yeah, I'd probably agree to that, predicting a March release date, but until something is officially announced it's all speculation.
A lot of people earlier this year speculated a December release date for the US, I believe even Amazon US at one point had a place holder release date to that effect too. _________________

Yeah, that was due to Sony using ambiguous language. They said it would be out worldwide by the end of the year and later stated they meant financial year, which ends in March, and not the calendar year. _________________

The 3DS just lost an exclusive:
| Quote: | Level-5's Time Travelers Coming To PlayStation Vita and PSP
Originally announced for just 3DS, the game is due for PlayStation Vita and PSP as well.
Famitsu also has a few game details. The game is set in 2031 Tokyo and will be fully voiced. A release is planned for 2012.
The story behind Time Travelers kicks off a few years in the future as a mysterious hole called the "Lost Hole" appears in the skies above Tokyo accompanied by an explosion. Central Tokyo is destroyed, and many lives are lost.
Things jump 18 years, to 4/28/2031. Tokyo is a futuristic city, with holographic signs filling the streets, and a building called the "Space Elevator" rising from Tokyo Bay. While there's a "space" in the name, the building is only 2,000 meters high. It serves as a power source for the city. |

The director stated when the game was first announced that they had interest in broadening platforms with Time Travellers, so I'm not surprised it's going elsewhere. _________________
