It's not worth it if you're planning to use the actual hammer. 46 STR needed and it does mediocre damage. However, if you're like me and just want it to say you punched the Asylum Demon to death, then by all means, go for it.

^ How do you guys know how to do all this stuff? Is it described in-game or are you looking up FAQs/walkthroughs?
Still waiting on the post here. But I've got Ico/SotC to tide me over at least now. _________________

Played many hours today. Took out the Taurus Demon, Gargoyles, a few Black Knights and the Goat Demon Boss bro guy. Oh and a giant rat in the sewers.
I haven't felt as intimidated or...depressed by a game since Demon's Souls. The atmosphere is so dense and full of dread, and the world is so vast and full of exploration that I can't help but get sidetracked from my original plans. The sewers were ridiculously creepy. I hated everything about that place yet was fascinated and explored every nook and cranny of it. The plague rats and rotting walls are disgusting.
I'm fairly decked out at the moment and have the Uchinaga sword upgraded to +5. The game is absolutely brilliant, and an improvement to Demon's Souls already imo. The Bonfires are FANTASTIC additions; they are quite possibly the best thing you could ever see after a long and arduous journey through death and despair.
Utterly amazing game. _________________

I slaughtered him.
EDIT: Going to bed now, but I was invaded for the first time tonight. A chill went down my spine as the game told me I was being invaded, as I was in the sewers in between newts and rats at the time.
I managed to fight and kill the bastard imposter and I got all his souls and his shield too.

oh you get their items if you beat them?
At least he didn't use the other invade option where the game doesn't notify that you've been invaded =p
Lol I hate that rat, the first time I went in for a drop attack from above and he shook me off then killed me. I was cursed at the time so was lacking in health. Second time I just stood back and heavy soul arrow'd it -_- _________________

What seems like a scripted sequence (most people will run past, die to get cutscene, etc), there is a very small minority who will question if they can kill something when they really aren't supposed to. Just a matter of experimentation.
Same with the dragons that scorch the bridges in Demons Souls in 1-2. You're not supposed to kill them, but you can by going on the battlements and spamming spells/arrows for the red dragon souls.

So I just got the Drake Sword last night by following some of the tips around here. Goodness me, that sword is a God send! One handed + power 200. My character can now kill most enemies with much more ease!
I'm apparently now suppose to go under FireLink shrine now. Anyone around level 25 or so? _________________

Had my first black phantom invasion last night while travelling the Depth sewers. Was positively s***ting myself when we faced off but I managed to parry one of it's attacks and scored myself a decisive victory.

It feels good banishing scumbag invaders eh? Killed mine off last night too. Probably one of the biggest pelvic thrust, victory posing moments in gaming, ever. _________________

I tried for hours last night to kill that Asylum Demon but was unable to. I was making great progress once but he downed me with some cheap shots.
Anyway, restarted the game (was only up to Darkroot Gardens), and within 2 hours, I'm almost back there with the new character. This time she's wielding the Drake Sword (missed it before), downed the first gecko and have some other nicknacks.
Loving this game so much. And I agree, the bonfires are the best addition to the game. Can't wait to bring it over my parents to play online, currently playing offline as home as I don't have the net there yet (no way I'm paying Telstra, damn RIM-hell).

I am but I have to get through that annoying looking place below sewers. If you want to go back to undead asylum to co-op beat the optional boss there then we can do that =)
Do people actually write down the name of invaders in that book you can buy from a merchant? _________________

I just killed like 8 Taurus Demons last night, I also killed a Capra Demon and pushed on a bit to see 10 of themstanding around haha. The Taurus don't respawn and I'm betting the Capras don't either.
I'd say I'm about 2/3 through the game.
I've got the Asylum key but I don't know how to get back there (I'm guessing the crow), curling up in a ball doesn't seem to do anything at this point.

you have to curl up in a ball for just over a minute apparently, sparkly the crow is apparently in the undead asylum as well. I knew it would make an appearance again in this game =D
Anyway I'm majorly stuck... in blight town. I can't get past the first 3 enemies, not enough space to move around them and if I block one of their attacks I get pushed off >_> Anyone want to co-op? lol
edit: nvm managed to trick them into walking off. Sigh its too bad they are regular enemies which respawn.
edit 2: sweet just got a samurai sword cooler than the Uchi. Was a risky jump but worth it, the R2 animation is like from the Kenshin anime. _________________

I hate Blighttown.
Also, Queelag is about 15 layers of terrifying.

Sure can, but you both need to be around the same level. I think it's 10 +, - 10% or something like that. That's how it was in Demon's Souls. _________________

It's possible, but I haven't been able to co-op with either David or my friend, who lives literally three houses down my street.

This will explain the lack of summons and the inability to summon each other even if you are in the same place at the same time. It'll make it extremely difficult for those that want to play through the game together or organise some PvP against each other.

**** I accidentally killed my first NPC. Now I can't learn all the pyromancies, I'm a mage build too :/ The room with the chaos covenant. There was an egg sack blocking my way and I couldn't jump over it so I slashed it and it started speaking and I went to finish it off -_- ffffffffff oh well I hope the spells weren't that great :/
Also how hot was that queelag boss? If only the bottom half of her body wasn't.... yeah _________________

- What method is that? Is that the one where people write the names of those who invaded and killed them into the book and then others using another book find them invade their world then kill them? I thought the game always warns regardless? If so that's pretty nasty.
Managed to defeat Bell Gargoyles tonight but it was a pretty close call so I'm stoked. I haven't been able to progress much further with minimal time on my hands, but am enjoying it especially as I'm making progress slowly throughout the game. _________________ Recently Finished: Legend of Heroes - Trails in the Sky (8/10)
