Yay! I finally got my copy and had a shot earlier this evening. This game already feels nastier than Demon's Souls, and I've died a few times, which isn't good but I'm managing to progress forward slowly...

I'm stuck at a point and trying to find other paths... perhaps another night though. Looking forward to playing this game and getting through it it with PalGN people.

I'm waiting for my preorder from ozgameshop, my friend purchased two copies (limited editions), one for himself and one for me as a birthday present, back in june.

I hate not knowing if they have dispatched it or not!

Found a killer soul farming spot. Down in the forest basin is a terrifying, primordial hydra that shoots blasts of water at you. There is also four or five ice colossus things running about. If they get in the path of the Hydra's blast she kills them and you get the souls. The journey back to the bonfire in the cave is very short. I have been going up levels every three minutes. Trick is to go down and collect the souls, die and then run back down so you save a trip. (Bloodstain.)

Hrm, just read on the Dark Souls forums about this new p2p system. My understanding is everyone is split into different 'groups' based on pings to each other, and you will only be able to summon or be invaded by those within your group.

This will explain the lack of summons and the inability to summon each other even if you are in the same place at the same time. It'll make it extremely difficult for those that want to play through the game together or organise some PvP against each other.

So, I checked the Ausgamez website, and this is only $58.64 on both PS3 and 360 for the Limited Edition. I've only used this site once before to buy Resistance 3, and it took 4 days to arrive, so I just bought Dark Souls now on impulse. Haven't played Demons Souls, but I'm looking forward to the challenge. I watched a bit of gameplay and the open world design with heaps of secrets hidden about (not to mention the online integration) looks really interesting. With Batman delayed on PC, this'll tide me over to the insane number of Nov releases (like 5 or 6

, 4 of which are huge open world games. Good thing there's nothing more until Feb/March next year)

I'm so behind now. Still can't beat taurus but came damn close. My strategy now is to throw 2 firebombs at him from the top then drop down as he jumps up then repeat. The dive attack method doesn't work for me as I need to do 4 of them to kill him and sometimes as I fall off him I get stuck between him and wall :/

This would have been so easy if I started off as a knight, warrior or pyromancer instead of wandering -_-

I'm in the Darkroot Garden atm, so lost and confused, struggling, but having fun. What on earth am I to do? Been running through few enemies just to explore then running back. I bumped into some water spitting Hydra. Good times.

Put 22 hours into it so far, and I've killed 9 bosses.

I managed to smith a divine weapon, so I ventured far into the catacombs for the first time and defeated the first boss.

I think I'll slay that Hydra (if that's what it's called) and then head into Anor Londo next. :\

...Or I might give New Londo Ruins a try.

I've got the Drake sword too haha, but haven't really used it.

I heard about it unintentionally and couldn't help myself once I knew. I still had to work out how to do it though.

Hmmm... I'm pretty certain my standard reinforced weapon trophy didn't work, I reinforced my winged spear +10. :\

Also, I'm pretty disappointed that I can't necessarily co-op with people I know in relatively close locations, at least some of the time. This point especially annoys me as I was invaded last night and it caused my game to experience some terrible lag, just as I was, you know, casually fighting off 4 of those plant enemies. I retreated back to ladder I climbed up but the game didn't recognise my input and I ran off the cliff.

Apart from these issues, the game is amazing though.

i heard the spell teacher is in undead burg, when can i access the place he/she is in? I'm keen on learning some now before i bump too many levels into strength :/

You can access the spell teacher before fighting the Gargoyles. (After Taurus Demon)
