I just got offered a job and start Monday, talk about timing.

I have too many games to play let alone getting the Platinum trophy for Dark Souls (twice?). I think a four day marathon is in order.

I'm very curious to witness NG+ haha.

Quick question, Do you need to play Demon souls to play Dark Souls? I am thinking about getting Dark Souls but should I start with demon souls first.

Yeah I have been doing some research on whether to pick up demon souls first and then play dark souls later on but I think you guys just reaffirmed my choice to pick up dark souls now. I think one of the pros is that the server won't be shut down anytime soon and there is a bigger online community now from the release of dark souls.

And on that note I shall head out today and purchase the game today.

Also anyone playing Dark Souls on the PS3 add me!

Just ordere the limited ed. from The Hut - never actually played the Demons Souls, although I watched friends raging their way through it a bit.

Worried I've just made a huge mistake... I really don't want to end up with a PS3 controller wedged in my plasma screen =P

demons souls was nowhere near as hard as people made out, i wouldn't worry about that....and beyond that, you knew your limitations after something wrecked you, so you could go and do something else for a while and not have to keep repeating something awful 100 times, which is the cause of many of my smashed sticks

^ I dunno. I had some pretty frustrating fights in Demon's Souls. Flamelurker and Maneaters made me rage more than a few times. Even after I knew what was coming and how to beat them.

I was able to pick up my pre-order during my lunch break. Upon putting the disc in my ps3, I had to a) perform a firmware update, then b) perform a game update. Damn it, I just want to play. Anyywaaaay, I ate lunch while I waited

(wow, the whole purpose of a lunch break).

I spent about 15 minutes customizing my character... it seems easier to make a decent enough looking character than Demons Souls but they still have mutant qualities.

After all this, I was only able to sink about 5 minutes into the game. My first impression was that the graphics do look to be lower resolution than Demons Souls. A quick check on the net confirmed my suspicions. It still looks like, just lower res. A bit of a disappointment. I messed around a bit and the game more or less feels exactly like Demons Souls, which isn't a bad thing by any means. That and I was overwhelmed by that feeling of impending doom that I felt whenever playing Demons Souls. Then I died by the first mini boss. And with that, I'm back at work.

^ Oh, I picked a thief for the key. From what I've read on the net, the Pendant (gift) is recommended as it unlocks otherwise inaccessible content.

If anything I think this game looks better than Demon's Souls, or maybe it's just the greenery and varied locations.

I'm a Pyromancer on my other game and was thinking of being a Sorceror this time round, I might just make another build into a Sorceror though. hmmm...

^ Perhaps the latter. I picked up on the lower res straight away. 1024×720... reminds me of Voodoo 2 SLI days.

This game is still really polished either way, and apart from travelling to Anorlondo, I haven't even noticed any loading.

I've noticed a waterfall which doesn't look very nice though.

Anyone experiencing loading issues? I made a coffee after beating the asylum boss and then went to load my save file and it refuses to load. Devastated.
