I thought it was awesome.

On the other hand, it would be selling out if he ate Subways in game to regain health.

I couldn't decide if I liked it or not, so I just posted it in here since I wanted to share it. On the one hand, it's nice to see the Uncharted series getting some recognition in the media, but at the same time...it's a little tacky. Ads like these make me worry about a future where, instead of celebrities/well known people, we have game characters trying to sell us stuff in every second advertisement. Some people would probably like that, though. icon_lol.gif I think it cheapens the character a little.

just found out my cousin was mugged at knife-point. they took his phone, wallet, and car. he's ok though, which is the main thing.
apparently the shopping centre this happened at has a heap of it on CCTV etc., including footage of him applying deodorant in the shop without buying anything - thus, they have his fingerprints.
untelligent.

i was initially annoyed that i forgot to buy a key ingredient for what i was going to cook for dinner, so i guess that got put into perspective.

Sorry to hear that icon_sad.gif

It sort of reminds me of a shift at work a few months back. I work in a bottleshop in Northbridge. A guy came in with a bloody eye/face on a Friday night. He was saying he had been in a fight and was asking staff for a spare knife, so we obviously told him to leave. I witnessed another person handing the same guy a knife shortly afterwards. He was just standing on the corner of the road outside, not really trying to conceal it (Of course we called ze cops). Urgh, Perth is pretty crap icon_sad.gif

Yeh, likewise Grim, not that far from me either. Hope they catch the scum.

Interesting 'accident' across the road from my parents today. Looks like some guys (friends) had an argument, one of them jumped into his car and smashed his friend's car head on and wrote it off, then sped off. With mates like that... (was a cruddy old skyline, but still, not the point).

according to his FB update, they caught the guy and recovered his car, though not the phone/wallet (although they could be in the car still). police are getting all CSI on the car and i guess he'll get it back soon.

Drake's gotta eat something, why not Subway? Hell, he can probably find one in just about every backwater country he visits, and it's gotta be better than risking the local cuisine in some places.

Discovered today that a major Australian anime distributor basically lied to me about why they were pulling a movie out from under my feet for a certain anime convention a couple of months ago.

"Unavailable materials" my eye. you're releasing it in December for crying out loud.

So rage.

Fuck you, man. It's people like you who created the unnecessary economic hardship felt by many Balinese becak drivers.

PALGN is NSFW. Porn spam makes for awkward talk with people walking by and noticing it as I scroll past.

Computer manufacturers and their seemingly random approach to picking components to put into their products. I'm in charge of "deployment" at work (still waiting for the official job title and description, another annoyance) and we use a relatively well known back-end infrastructure to deploy OSes and applications to clients. I've spent a good five weeks trying to troubleshoot the entire system to work out why a certain model of net/notebook we're planning on deploying won't talk to the server.

Part of this deployment system is a custom OS that loads onto system on a network boot which contains all the relevant code to automatically identify itself with the application, inventory, OS and reporting managers and download the correct OS and applications without much interaction from the service team. Now because this manufacturer (Acer) decided to use an obscure ethernet controller (Aethros, big in WLAN not so much in LAN), I have to pull apart the custom OS and install these drivers which may or may not be compatible with the OS. Needless to say this isn't a quick process and requires rebuilding the OS (basically recompiling) and the computer I have to use for this is painfully slow (yay for budgets being blown out by my predecessors). Of course this still doesn't work.

I eventually contact our supplier and ask for another machine of the same model to rule out that there is a fault with that machine. I got told that the machine I had in my hands was not the model we were going to be deploying and this new one has completely different hardware so I had just wasted all my time for nothing.

TLDR: Enterprise level ICT isn't as easy as you think and Acer sucks.

An enterprise level OS upgrade is happening at my work, which involves a complete rebuilt of each machine with software reinstalls, etc. I'd hate to be involved in that process, must be a nightmare. Something that large will also have to have significant teething problems post release.
