Anyone else have a bad feeling the "ending" will not answer anything?

for this game? No way in hell will it. The ending will set up AC 3 which will probably end up answering most of the questions while still leaving some room open for further games. _________________

I would think that we are going to get quite a few reveals along the way with more info on ALL the factions and those who came before. Pretty sure they have confirmed that the AC2 and Brotherhood ending with the questions they raised will be answered in Revelations, among other things. Hopefully they don't answer EVERYTHING in this game - i would still like some questions unanswered going into AC3.

I would say that you could possibly catch up simply by watching videos but the impact will most likely be lost. Brotherhood - while not having as strong a story as 2 IMO still is quite an important entry that does advance the desmond and ezio storyline quite a bit. Personally i would recommend it.

honestly you should play brotherhood regardless, it's easly the best entry in the series so far.
You should be able to find it for around 30 bucks no probblems. _________________

I loved AC2 to death but never really had the urge to play brotherhood. And this latest chapters seems like another reharsh totally.
I will play them in time, but I've kind of gotten a little bit annoying at Ubisoft for milking this game to death. Give us AC3 already. _________________ Shin J Leon.

honestly I had the same first imperession of Brotherhood. it looked like a total quick cash grab with ubisoft milking the series, I mean only one city, multiplayer, Ezio again, 1 year dev time. It all screams quick cash grab.
But it's serious fucking quality. It takes everything good about AC 2 and just makes it better. _________________

That was a glitch in the animus according to the manual for part 2. Also man... he grew up in a desert cut him some slack _________________

couldn't agree more. and also, there might only be 1 city, but it's bloody massive, and contains surrounding countryside too - you will need your horse to get around.
and if you enjoy the whole story, then you have to play Brotherhood - this isn't backstory, like the DS and PSP games, but right in the centre of the plot. if you haven't played it when AC3 comes out, then you've missed a chunk of the story.
but honestly, that's why i've got some doubts about Revelations (well, not specifically ACR, but Ubi's management of the AC franchise). as strange as it sounds in a post about how i went from sceptic to believer on their other "cash in", after the story of Brotherhood, i'm worried they'll drag out things far too long - to the point where it won't be as exciting anymore.
particularly after the ending of Brotherhood. _________________

I'm still confident that it will be decent at least up till AC 3. I remember interviews with Jade Raymond before the release of the first one that the story has always been planned as a trilogy.
And the release of the next game after Revelations (Which I'd bet money on being AC 3) should coincide with the prophecy for 2012 that has been hinted at since the writing on the walls in the end of the first game.
The only thing that gives me pause for concern is that revelations is going to be the first game developed with no input from Patrice Desilets (the guy at the helm that everyone would know if the media circus for the first one hadn't focused on OH MY GOD A GIRL!") He left during the production of brotherhood but from all reports he'd pretty much finished most of his work on it and had left a detailed bible for the rest of the game development. For Revelations we've got Alexandre Amancio who as far as I can tell this will be his first game as lead design (He's previously been an Art Director on Farcry 2 according to linkedin) _________________

Yeah, i realise it was planned as a trilogy, but the fact they've been able to add 2 extra games into the main plot is a little concerning.
it just makes me wonder where this extra plot is coming from, if it was only ever planned as a trilogy. (and how much they plan on diluting it - not that i think it's ever felt diluted so far, it's definitely felt right).
you're right about the 2012 connection though - i'd forgotten about it in the time since i last played the games, and i think your right, it's definitely a missed opportunity if they don't release 3 to coincide with the real year. _________________

well from what they were saying in the interviews up to the release of brotherhood. AC 2 was originaly envisioned as being much bigger then it was. They couldn't fit the entire story they wanted into AC 2 and split it between 2 and brotherhood. It makes sense if you think about it, learning all the free running in 2 as Desmond and then getting the chance to use it in Brotherhood, letting the pope live only to see it bite you in the arse etc. That said it could always just be bullshit marketing to convince people that brotherhood wasn't a crappy cash grab.
No idea about Revelations though, it deffintley seems like it could be more of stop hold storyline to draw it out what with Desmond being stuck in the animus the entire time. That said I'm far too excited about the prospect of seeing more Altair and exploring Desmonds past to be worried about it. _________________

is the Da Vinci Disappearance DLC important to the story or worth buying for Brotherhood? Thinking of finishing up more of the brotherhood optionals before revelations is out. _________________

It's hard to say untill Revelations is out. I doubt it's going to have any real relevance though. _________________

Was playing a bit of Brotherhood today, and while I love the games and will get Revelations as soon as I can, the free running mechanics, especially at high speed during chases, needs to be fixed. The amount of times you chase someone, then randomly run up a wall, then jump off a roof and fall 5 stories is ridiculous. Best assassain in the world wouldn't do that. And dont say it's that I can't control the character or whatever, coz it randomly happens. Alot. _________________ GT: chunged

^ The thing is that never happens to me though. It's not very precise overall and there are some mistakes with jumping on the geometry that happen that arent my fault, but if I run up the wrong wall or jump off a building to my death its because I wasnt aiming the direction stick properly.
I think the freerunning works quite well they just need to bring precision to how your character reacts to different objects with their context-sensitive system.

yeah honestly I've never had a problem with the free running, I mean I jump to my death a lot but those are all my fault. Usually when I'm thinking "Yeah I could make that jump?" then I can't.

Best assassin in the world being controlled by a bar tender would though. _________________

I wonder if we will find out who has Ezio's baby in this game (for the ancestor line to continue). I was hoping it would be Rosa from Assassin's Creed 2, Ezio seemed to have a thing for her but then she just disappeared and there was no mention of her in Brotherhood. I'm guessing now its going to be a Turkish woman, maybe an Assassin? Since Ezio is getting old I am thinking this will be kind of the chronicle of the rest of his life, maybe we will even see his death, so it has to happen at some point.
Also for those interested I just realised Revelations is now available for preorder on Steam!
