Hey guys. This is a thread for the upcoming Gears. With the $69 price and really good reviews coming in I think I don't have much choice. Who else is thinking of picking it up and who's up for some 4 player co-op.

I pre-ordered mine at JB Hi-Fi for the same price as Kmart- $69- and get the pre-order bonus DLC (Commando Dom, Mechanic Baird) as well as a wall poster. I recommend anyone who hasn't already to pre-order it from JB.
And I have not heard of any broken street dates, unfortunately. Only a couple more hours to go, though!

Anybody get their bonus 'wall scroll' for pre-ordering from JB? They were still waiting for their shipment when I picked up my copy, so I have to go back later if I want mine. I assume 'wall scroll' is just big city talk for poster, so I'm wondering if it's actually worth going back for.

Didn't get mine this morning man. They made no mention of it, actually. I honestly forgot about it. Might head back if I hear word.
Oh yeah. Any fellow PALGN'ers want to make a Gears 3 team? 
Add my GT from my sig if you want a serious team-mate. It's hard to find good teammates on this game (I mean, I could invite my RL friends around, but they suckkk at Gears immensely, haha).

Just picked up mine then from EB and they wouldn't give me the pre-order bonuses because I price matched K-mart/JB. I think it must have been happening all day because they had a two huge stacks of the character DLC cards on the counter. It's a pre-order bonus not a pay full price bonus. I guess they will end up just throwing them out or giving them away to random people months down the track. What a waste.

EB can be real dicks like that. Considering my local EB is right next to JB, I can only imagine how much business they have pissed away with this retarded policy. I remember when I bought Mass Effect 2 and price matched JB. They tried to tempt me to pay full price with some crappy pre-order bonus DLC. The problem was that the DLC had already been leaked and I got it all for free anyway. The look on the EB games guys face when I told him... ha.

Played through hoard, about 3 hours of campaign and a session of versus. This game is so good. Hoard is amazing. The changes they've made to hoard are awesome and the bosses are truly hard. Campaign feels good especially with three other guys. I have always loved the feel Gears multi but never been that good at it. Pretty much the same but used the lancer a lot more. Although higher level play might be more the same I enjoy using the other weapons and I love that it goes to map to map without the lobby and can handle players dropping and coming in easy. Overall really enjoying it, but there is one thing. The graphics have not blowed me away. They just seem really good. I wonder if graphics have kind of reached a peak which I can only see as a good thing.

Anyway, in the campaign, can you direct your team? The LB gives you the view of the team, but you can direct them towards a target?

You can. Click the Left Stick in when targeting an enemy and your team mates will attack them for you.

FUCKING pissing me off. Popped the disc in; xbox360 won't read it. I'm about to start playing this and it won't show up in the drive. I think this must be a joke; reboot the console...
So I think "fffffffff... consoles' finally dead"; threw in the disc that was in it prior (dance central) and it boots.

Love the Retro Lancer. Hate the strong enemies that lob fireballs. Can't stand the newbs online who use nothing but shotguns. But other than that, it's a really great game. A lot to do in it, I think it'd be a while before I get bored of it.

Got up to level 29 on ranked today. Multiplayer is as smooth and refined as ever. The only issue I think Gears 3 players can universally agree on is the over-powered Sawed-Off Shotgun. It is insane.
