That said, the movie theatre for all the cutscenes was the best innovation in final fantasy, it kills me that they did not keep it on.

Absolute must have for me, assuming it's at a budget price point. I bought this game twice on PS2 (my first copy stopped working) and I'd be happy to shell out another $40-50 to play it in HD with trophy support, extra features or no (but I'm really hoping for extra features). Maybe this also paves the way for KH1+2 in HD...

An extremely reliable rumour list pointed to Monster Hunter Portable 3rd HD making launch, but it's nowhere to be seen and I dont know why. It's a little bit conerning, actually. Maybe Capcom will announce it a bit later.

If it is then it better be the international version. The PAL/International version has all the bonus stuff like Dark Aeons. I'll take the extra's over a better screen ratio. Both would be good but the extras are fine for me.

So grab it on PSN. It's the original PS1 version, so the resolution is terrible, but it's the same game.
I quite liked FFX, but hated Blitz Ball. I know a lot of people love it, but I thought I was playing an RPG, not a pseudo sports sim.

Its absolutely bat crazy that we have to wish so hard for games like FF7 to come out. With such mega popularity it baffles me that SE havent re-released this game in some form. Here have.... FF10!
DAMN I want my FFVI remake, in HD 2D. Is it SO hard?

Actually on FFVI (and V for that matter), it was stated a while back that they weren't remade on the DS like 3 and 4 due to 'technical limitations'. So expect remakes of those on the 3DS/Vita.

Here's why you won't get FFVII and why you'll get PS2 HD ports.
PS2 games assets scale up to HD better than PS1 and for a nominal sum, SE can get these remakes out.
To redo 7,8,9. they'd have to redo the static backgrounds/environments into real 3D worlds, remake all the models, update the cgi etc - a multi million dollar project that will take a lot of time.
so I'm not going to hold my breath for a FFVII-IX remake anytime soon.
They should just start on FFXIV
