They've actually been on the Mac since last year sometime, just only on other DD services.

Oh great, another reason for Mac owners to be smug and condescending.

SA reviews saying it's laggy as fuck... annoying. Already have the other two on Steam, PS2 and Xbox, not buying them a 4th time.

Hey, Mac owners love being hip, trendy, feature-limited, but most importantly always having something new.

Ten year old games totally aren't their thing.

(I hate my Mac, and have regular verbal and physical battles with the thing, but I've played TF2 on it more over the last year than I have on PC so it may be getting in my brain.)

Sucks to be a Linux fan (I'm not hardcore but I am a hybrid fan but I know gamers who are hardcore Linux fans so it will be a huge kick in the gut to see more games on Mac but not officially on Linux). There's more Linux users than Mac but Mac gets the love.

I still love Windows so Windows+Linux ftw!

Goob's comment was pointing out that it would be hard for even the Mac fanboys to be too smug about only recently getting some very old titles, and not saying that playing old titles is a bad thing.

Does not compute, I have good tastes as far as I'm aware (multi-platform ftw!).

Remember how I was a programmer on the X360 emulation service Game Room? lulz good times.

I wholeheartedly recommend a Ubuntu box over OSX. Hell, it even plays more modern games than a Mac thanks to WINE and Cedega/GameTree.

You'd be referring to Cider, which isn't quite the same thing.

No, I'm pretty sure I'm talking about Wine. Quite a few people use it to run Windows apps. And isn't Crossover just a better GUI for Wine?

Oh, we've gone to talking about just apps now?

Yes, WINE has been on OSX since forever. Cedega/GameTree and Cider though, while based on WINE, don't stop at just implementing the Windows API. Specifically, they also implement the complete DirectX API. Whereas Cedega (Linux only) is more of a service that anyone can download and run, Cider (OSX) is something they market to game developers to easily bring their code across to OSX for commercial gain. It's quite a bit more full featured and successful than Crossover, which also attempts to implement APIs that are beyond WINE's scope.

So, the point still stands.

Goober, people use ripped Cider wrappers to play other games on OS X too, Cedega style, though I assume it's even hackier than using those tools in supported ways. I'd rather just run VMware or Parallels. Probably. And re: Ubuntu, OS X is a virtual joy to use, no other OS comes close on that front.

Windows PCs don't compute. icon_wink.gif If you find Windows anything more than (somewhat) functional, you do not have good taste. My main point though was that the number of Mac users towers over the number of Lunix users.

Stats to prove that? (I'm outdated with stats but my money is on Linux users still exceeds Mac users). My post was trying to highlight there are number of Linux users yet they still focus on Mac.

Nah, it means I seem to know how to make use out of it. Just like why people prefers other OSes. I tried Mac and Windows just does more for me (for games and my work) but then you don't see me bagging Mac (but I'll start if you want me to icon_razz.gif). I just have a different views on things.
