Seriously? This shit is serious business... apparently. >_>

Sorry Goobs, you're right - I'm giving that a 5/10 for the bits that don't make me want to grind my teeth. The 'chorus' bit (1:20-1:50 ish) sounds great, but the rest (especially the vocals) give me the irrits.

So yeah, I don't know how to follow this up. Oh wait, perhaps I do:

SHAKE. YOUR. RUMPAH!

But since Gooberman's vagina is plugged full of sand, allow me to alleviate that discomfort by giving it a score of 0/10.

Now everyone's happy, and this has just reminded me why I f******g hate forums at times. So don't worry, you won't find me in here again.

As you were...

Nice overreaction. Everyone's gone sensitive, all of a sudden I've crossed the line. Grow up, kids. The video is freely available on YouTube to people of all ages. And I included a disclaimer, seems that's all that's needed on this forum these days.

I'm glad I posted something that got such a strong reaction and made people actually feel something, even if it was disgusted.

P.S. The song is a parody of this:

And Gooberman's vagina is well looked after thanks, Cian.

sobriquet's song: 9/10. Helloooooooooo high school. That song's like 15 years old now. I feel old.

Pantsu: yeah, Virus are more my kind of thing, I like that chaotic stuff. Kinda like jazz metal or something.

Theo: I really didn't think that Necro clip was any more graphic than Requiem For A Dream. Mind you, I figured this was a "Rate the song above you" thread, not "Rate the film clip above you." *shrug* And I haven't listened to that LL Cool J song in a looooong time.

So, uh, my turn again, eh? Time for a bit of stupid fun courtesy of the Deathstars methinks.

A random tangent, so no song rating, but I heard Eminem's 'I'm Not Afraid' for the first time (yes, I know its a year old). The awful cheesy chorus is awful, but some of his rhymes were a lot better than his Encore/Relapse stuff, and it reminded me he really was one extremely talented dude in his prime. Probably one of the best mainstream hiphop writers and rappers that's ever lived. Great flow, creative rhymes and just a lot of honest fun to his work.

Random 2c.

I basically only ever listen to The Slim Shady LP when I'm in the mood. It's all vulgar kindergarten rhymes, really fun. And then he started getting all "Rap is serious business" and even though the same degree of skill is on display it really doesn't hold my attention as well.

Also on a tangent, there need to be more groups like Public Enemy.

I can dig that. Lyrically I think both Slim Shady LP and Marshall Mathers LP are both equally excellent in quality, despite their different tones, then it begins to drop off. The Eminem Show has some great stuff and then some terrible stuff, and the ratio drops further with Encore, with Relapse being garbage. Lazy writing and boring subjects.

I'm not really into Eminem all that much so my perspective is probably completely wrong.

Check out The Slim Shady EP - most of the tracks were covered over to the LP but there is some classic Em there. His first album, Infinite, was before he started going all nuts and is therefore kinda boring.

The Eminem Show was the start of the dark period, good and bad as Jarrod said. Encore can go and die. Relapse is actually the best thing he has given us in years. From a technical standpoint, his lyrics and flow on that are amazing, beyond what any (or many) other rappers are capable of. Agree that there is boring subject matter on there, but it's just a fun and well written album to me. Recovery, on the other hand, can also fuck off and die.

Jarrod, your perspective is your own, there is no wrong or right. A lot of people disagree with my opinion of Em's albums, but who cares?

Gotta put the guy in top 5 or at least top 10 rappers of all time, though. He really has done some incredible stuff.

I never really dug latter day Ministry. 6/10 for the last half of the song.

I've been listening to the new Duran Duran album in what can only be described as "excessive quantities." It's really quite good. And they still have the best bass lines.

Well, it's kinda going back to when I posted Virus last page - Land of **** and Honey, Mind is a Terrible Thing to Taste, and Psalm 69 are somewhat chaotic and please the rivethead and the metalhead in me.

Really have the urge for some PWEI now that you mentioned them though, but I have none here at work. Well, I have a couple of soundtracks Clint Mansell did, but it's not the same.

4/10, I kinda like it but I'm not sure why.

This is an acoustic cover of Crystallized by the Gorillaz I stumbled upon not too long ago and it just blew my mind. I never imagined them playing anything remotely like this.

6/10. Interesting beat, but not really my style, to be honest. I liked Pixie's one much more. I thought I'd post my favourite song from my current favourite band - Gypsy Pistoleros.

Love it. icon_smile.gif

It was used in a game (which is how I got onto it), actually. icon_smile.gif Wet. I've had the song in my library for over a year now, but wasn't sure of the name of the band. I just looked into it recently, and can now say that I love their music!

8/10 Jahanzeb. I dig the sound. Not 100% my thing but I can appreciate it and it's damn well listenable.

Anyway, I'm really digging The Silent Comedy currently. Found them off a Dark Souls trailer funnily enough, and some of their songs I'm finding really good, particularly this one:

Loving the lyrics and the song is pretty chill.
