| Quote: | It won't be official until it's unveiled on stage during Sony's E3 press conference, but bookmakers are surely cutting off bets on the NGP's final name after this trademark filing turned up overnight.
Called, yes, the PlayStation Vita, the filing was filed with the Trademarks and Designs Registration Office of the European Union on June 6, was submitted by Sony Computer Entertainment and even included the snappy logo you see above.
The listing follows on from a discovery last week that Sony had included the term "PlayStation Vita" on its E3 web site. |
http://kotaku.com/5808809/this-is-probably-the-ngps-new-name-and-logo
Also, I'm sorry I just thought of this and I know it's a little silly, but it just came to mind just then.
PSV = PlayStation Vita = PlayStation Life
The letter V in Roman Numerals = 5
PSV is OFFICIALLY the 5th PlayStation home or portable console to grace this Earth (soon to grace this Earth).
1. PS
PS mini
2. PS2
PS2 Slim
PSX (PS2 & DVR Hybrid)
3. PSP
4. PS3
PSP Slim
PS3 Slim
PSP go!
5. PSV
I was going to add PocketStation and the Bravia PS2 TV (PS2 & HDTV Hybrid) in there, but meh.

So is the Vita going to double as a phone running android?
Aesthetically, I wouldn't mind replacing my old N95 with this thing. It looks cool. _________________ nintendo based god

PSV will remain as a portable video games console, because having phone calling features would most likely make PSV simply too expensive.
The US$ price tag on it has now is extremely competitive in my opinion.

So this is slated for end of year release in Japan only, right?
I recall reading that it would cone to other territories in feb/march 2012? _________________

A: SCE with the support of third party developers and publishers have been offering select UMD titles on PlayStation Store and will continue our effort to deliver these content in the form of game medium for PS Vita going forward. However, we will need to clear all copyright / legal related issues and due to this not all software titles will become available on PS Vita. We will announce details for each title when ready.

Nintendo's core franchises are the only reason the 3ds is even on my radar. Man dual analog sticks and the brilliant screen are a win for me.

Big news! A list of every upcoming PS Vita game has been leaked (including unannounced ones), and I think some people will be pretty happy.
Gotham City Imposters, Yakuza, Mortal Kombat, FFXI, King of Fighters, Kingdom Hearts, Castelvania, Contra, Mass Effect, Blazblue, Metal Gear Solid: Rising and more! Excellent line-up. Here's hoping that this list is the real deal! _________________

Yeah, it's not proven at this point. An anonymous source leaked the document earlier today. Apparently, most of them are supposed to be revealed during Gamescom. _________________

Oh my god! Monster Hunter! That's all it needs... nothing else... well except whatever Capybara Games is releasing.
That has to be the single most awesome name for a games company, I can see it now an office full of oversized rodents.

Elevator Action, that game brings back memories
I hope the Saints Row title actually gets released after the 3DS title was canned, though maybe they canned the 3DS title to start on a Vita version instead? _________________ RIP Buddha 19/10/1952 - 03/01/2004
