So it's been reported that the WWE have released Melina, Chris Masters, D.H. Smith, and Vladamir Kozlov. And Gail Kim has quit the WWE.
Regarding Melina, i bet Zack Ryder's dad will be devasted. But who knows, with John Morrison on the road and Melina at home, and her past of sleeping around, maybe this is Ryder's dad's chance

They released Melina!? sucks
They were making her job horribly lately. That's a real shame, she was actually a good wrestler
And DH Smith...there goes a Hart Foundation reunion...why WWE disolved that team, I will never...ever understand _________________

Alright so I watched bits and pieces of Hardcore Justice.
The PPV itself was meh, I was expecting each match to be under hardcore rules but well...it wasn't. Kinda misleading the way they hyped it up but oh well.
Sting vs Angle was an OK match, nothing terribly exciting and not nearly as good as their encounters in previous years. But it was a decently worked match, they basically kept doing each other's finisher moves.
Overall, it's gonna be very hard to please me and other wrestling fans after money in the bank 2011, Summerslam is gonna have a hard time topping it even. _________________

I'm surprised more female wrestlers haven't left the WWE already, it's such a wasted title belt. That's one thing TNA seems to have a decent understanding of, allowing them to wrestle instead of just showing off for a few seconds.
As for the others, I can see why they all left. Masters was underused, not that I'm complaining, his performances are stock standard. DH was good but just vanished, Kozlov too. Here's hoping Kozlov gets a TNA contract, it'd be great to see his original angry Russian self tearing it up.
And I'd say Kim would be on the way back to TNA too at some point, considering the success she had there.

I think the financial security they have with the WWE and not having to pick up the insurance bill is why, it's alot more important then wrestling in a good division. _________________

Watched this week's ep of Raw today. I liked seeing the Kevin Steen and Kings of Wrestling signs in the crowd. Also probably the best 'match contract signing' segment i've ever seen, not that that's a difficult thing to accomplish since most of them act out the same way.

Epic Double Post
Ok that was an amazing Summerslam, hell even the divas match was solid! Kelly Kelly showed off some really good wrestling ability! I'm impressed.
Well paced matches and the crowd was into all of them...but the finish of the main event...I could not have predicted.
Main event was not as good as MiTB 2011 but still an amazing Summerslam _________________

Caught a replay. The back and forth between Punk and Cena was great, the question now is who will get the rematch, and who set up the ending. Hunter looked as surprised as everyone else.

I watched it live. While it wasn't expected to be anywhere as good as MITB, it still had its moments.
Probably the first ever Divas match i cared about, just cause i wanted Beth Phoenix to win. I wanted the match to just be Phoenix smashing Kelly Kelly around from post to post. I then would have accepted the roll-up win from Kelly, as a sign of desperation to make any offense.
I wish Daniel Bryan won his match too. He needs to start getting wins under his belt so he can eventually be perceived as title match material, with the MITB case in his possession or not. But who knows, this might lead to a bit of a feud between him and Barrett, resulting in more matches to showcase their talents.
In the Orton/Christian match, it would have been awesome for Edge to make a swerve and come back at the end of the match to help Christian out despite what he said before the match started. I was thinking to myself that that table slanted against the corner was just asking for Edge to spear Orton through.
Hopefully from now on, after Cena and Punk's matches with each other, that Cena matches won't go back to the old formula of Cena getting beaten up until the last few minutes where he turns into Super Cena and wins the match. Cena has shown that he can go back and forth with one of the best in world.
Hopefully there's still a chance for a 'new era' in WWE, even though a few backsteps were taken with Orton with the belt again and Kelly Kelly retaining the Divas title. But questions still remain and things are still a little unpredictable, which is how wrestling should be.
Cena and Punk are now both gonna have issues with HHH. HHH didn't see Cena's leg on the ropes and Punk is likely going to think that HHH/Stephanie is behind Kevin Nash's appearance. Will Stephanie start appearing more regularly and will Nash start to act as the couple's bodyguard/enforcer?
Don't forget Rey Mysterio is set to have his title rematch on Raw. I was actually thinking of that during the pay-per-view, about what if Del Rio cashed in and Rey has to face him on Raw. Yeah, they've had matches before, but i bet WWE is hoping to cash in on the Latino market with those two facing off in Rey's hometown, San Diego. They're gonna want Del Rio to be the champ during their tour in Mexico too.
Sorry for the long post.

I wonder if Orton RKO'd him right after this pic was taken.

So anybody else disappointed in the way it all played out? Self proclaimed WWE's biggest ever match, a unification bout, only to have the ref bugger up the call and someone else steal the title completely anyway. I just hate those sorts of results on PPV's and you genuinely feel disappointed when you actually order the thing. That stuff should be contained to Raw, like the Miz cash-in.
Can we expect CM Punk to have another whinge about not being in the spotlight now? I mean that is why he wanted do go in the first place. Can't really see him being in many title shots now that they're doing the whole Mexico tour thing with Alberto on top, probably against Mysterio for maximum cash-in. And when that's doine, I guess the build-up for Cena/Rock will really swing into full gear. Sounds like they're just throwing the rematch clause out the window.

I don't know if Punk will whinge. Especially if they hire Claudio and Hero and put them together (maybe with Cabana if they liked his dark match a couple of weeks ago). A Kings of Wrestling stable would be pretty sweet. That said, WWE haven't done a stable well in a age and Punk was involved in two very recently that where both stillborn. Add that to the way they constantly bury Daniel Bryan and I can't have any faith in them pushing any other Indy darlings.
As for a feud with Nash...... Christ. I don't think the dude has ever been in a really good match in his career, now his what? 50+ and with worse knees than Rey Misterio. And I don't think you have to worry about Punk getting him up for the GTS, Nash isn't taking any bumps. I just don't know why you would hire the dude for anything. He was nothing but detrimental for WWE when he worked with them in the 90's and his only claim to fame is being in the right place at the right time with the NWO angle. Aghrr, I don't know, the entire company's bloody frustrating. I'll keep to watching my World Class comp, watching P.S Hayes gyrate makes me happy. _________________

I don't mind Punk and Nash going at it on the mics. I read one report that their exchange on Raw was almost entirely unscripted.
I hope the perks that have enticed Punk to re-sign aren't short term such as, Cabana's one or two dark matches (even though he lost them), more of a say backstage with Vince, and his gf, Beth Phoenix's push.
Hearing J.R. and Lawler talk about Otunga & McGillicuty during their match on Raw, and how they need to be exciting and defend their belts more, led me to think that soon might be the time that tag teams such as the Kings of Wrestling will join WWE. Apparently, HHH is interested in signing TNA's Beer Money too.
I came across this news too:
| Quote: | Former TNA Stars Get WWE Tryout
Posted by Jeremy Thomas on 08.16.2011
Find out who…
- The Young Bucks, known in TNA as Generation Me, received a tryout match yesterday before Raw. The two worked some matches for WWE producers. WWE is currently seeking tag teams to push their tag division; thus Jerry Lawler and Jim Ross discussing how tag team champions Otunga and McGuillicutty needed some new competition last night on Raw during their match.

A wrestler called Freight Train cuts promos on The Miz and CM Punk. He kinda sounds like Cleveland. "Alish Rally" "...and it gonna be Choo Choo style!"

How do you think Young Bucks will go on the main roster? They're really skinny and kinda dorky looking, if they give Danielson a "nerd" gimmick what will they do to them, lol. They don't really take the piss out of Bourne though so maybe they will be given half a go. If they do push the tag division they'd at least make really, really great jobbers.
I remember listening to, I think the Londrick shoot (great watch btw) and they mention talking to Shane McMahon and him saying they'll never be pushed because tag teams don't draw or something along those lines. Hopefully they've changed their attitude since then. I don't see why Beer Money couldn't be as big as anyone in WWE bar Cena, Taker and Rey Misterio, they're pretty awesome.
Also, they should hire Freight Train this instance. He could be the Dusty Rhodes of our generation. I think the people would really respond well to a Forest Gump gimmick. I wonder how many chair shots his taken in his 13 years in the ring? _________________

Well obviously comparisons will be made with the Hardy Boyz if the WWE audience sees the Young Bucks, only this is a Hardy Boyz that don't have drug problems or let themselves go lol. I think the key to their success would be not to have them as the only small high flying tag team in the division. Bring in the Motor City Machine Guns too and let those teams feud. They've shown in TNA what great matches they're capable of.
As for Danielson's nerd gimmick, the only one who calls him a nerd is Michael Cole but it's gotten to the point where even people backstage actually believe he's a nerd. As Danielson said in an interview, the reason he doesn't have a tv is cause he hardly ever spends time at home to watch it. Whenever he's not wrestling he's most likely at grappling or kickboxing training. Remember how 'un-nerd-like' he was when the Nexus tore apart the ring? Not only did he choke out Justin Roberts with his own tie, but he spat on Cena after telling him, "You are not better than me!'
And again, Cole is taking the piss out of Bourne too, trying to make him sound nerdy or boring by claiming that Bourne was the head of a mailbox company. At least Bobby Heenan or any of the other heel announcers did their work with style and class. Cole just flat out buries anybody he doesn't like. GDYC! (If you ever seen this sign in the audience, it stands for God Damn You Cole, a phrase coined from IGN's wrestling wrap up.)
