Dear Apple,
Arbitrarily reversing the way scrolling works is a terrible, terrible idea.
Regards,
Everyone who's muscle memory just got broken.
And yes, "Natural Scrolling" was the first thing I turned off. Otherwise, I like it. The new login screen is really nice, and stuff like launchpad means I don't have to keep my Applications folder in the dock anymore.
Versioning and address-space randomisation are big features for me. Hoping the next Firefox builds offer better support for it. Or at least, they implement the new back/forward signals. _________________ Twitter | XBL: Tamaaya | PSN: stormo | GameCentre/Steam: StorminNorman

Well so far I'm liking it. My only complaint is that I can't just flick the mouse to the right and get the scroll bar every time (as it gets the window size change instead), but other than that it seems pretty cool. I don't really have much use for Launchpad or Mission Control though, but the other features sound like they'll be helpful in the long run. Though I'm curious as to how games will run that use the new drivers. Portal 2 already ran better under OS X on certain Mac's, so hopefully it's a decent improvement. Overall, for $31.99 I'd definitely recommend it, unless you have important apps that you need to make sure it has 100% compatibility with first.
Oh, and full screen is better than I thought it'd be. Using Safari in full screen now and I really like it, browsing not in full screen is a bit annoying now

I'm really hoping Firefox gets updated to support fullscreen mode. Its "tabspose" feature is perfect for it.
As usual, John Siracusa has delivered an excellent review at Ars Technica. It covers absolutely everything you could possibly want to know.
One thing that's probably worth pointing out is that FileVault is now a completely different thing to what it was before. The new one is a full HDD encryption system done at the LVM level (yes, Lion introduces LVM to OS X), rather than the encrypted disk image approach of the old version. This is massively more secure, and best of all, it's completely transparent to software, meaning that you'll never have compatibility issues with it.
If you use your Mac on the road a lot, encrypting the filesystem makes a lot of sense. iOS devices already do this.
I think Mission Control is going to be my favourite new feature. I've always been a heavy user of Expose, but not of Spaces, so this might finally be the push I need to use multiple desktops on the Mac.
As a died-in-the-wool Dock hater, I also really like Launchpad. My problem with the Dock was always that, for it to work, you had to massively overload it. Now, you can simplify it, and access to all your software is just a short, somewhat awkward, trackpad gesture away.
Overall, it was $30 well spent. _________________ Twitter | XBL: Tamaaya | PSN: stormo | GameCentre/Steam: StorminNorman

Installed it on my Mini last night, thought some of the things were nifty, Launchpad was a nice touch, and meant the end of the applications folder requirement on the dock, and the separate page elements and interface processes in safari are a nice touch for laggy pages or tabs that hang.
Natural scrolling I instantly turned off, as I found it to be a change that would remove uniformity from part of my life across the computers at home and at work. It would get confusing and remove the reflexive nature of scrolling from my head.
Apart from a few new bits and pieces, I was satisfied, but not wowed by the update.
Then tonight I installed it on my Macbook Pro, gotta say, the changes are a lot cooler and more apparent on the mobile platform, as the trackpad gestures are awesome and very intuitive, and within a couple of minutes, the "natural scrolling" on the trackpad feels 100% normal.
Really liking the three finger swipe to switch between fullscreen applications and Launchpad/show desktop explosion gestures too.
With a trackpad it feels a lot more polished. _________________

Yeah, it's very definitely designed for trackpad use. Apple have basically said "Mice are so 20th Century" with this release.
Not to mention that you can order all Apple desktops with a trackpad at no additional cost now.
My most frustrating change so far has been that Firefox doesn't work with the back/forward gestures anymore. _________________ Twitter | XBL: Tamaaya | PSN: stormo | GameCentre/Steam: StorminNorman

I had to switch back to Snow Leopard. Pro Tools 9.3 isn't supported yet, and it also broke a few of my other Apps. _________________

Time Machine'd it, booted off the Snow Leopard disc, reformatted, went through the arduous process of putting everything back.
Pro Tools didn't work properly after just dragging and dropping from Time Machine. Hardware Drivers (for Pro Tools) didn't work either, and anything by Adobe didn't work.
So I reinstalled all those from disc.
Everything else pretty much just worked straight out of the backup I made of Lion.
Edit: Last.fm plug-in for iTunes also didn't work. _________________
