I actually didn't mind the images I saw of the earlier builds of Diablo 3 (completely different game to what we have now). Most didn't like them but I thought they were quite nice.

Hopefully you can place and remove the runes as you wish. I'm hoping the game includes some sort of respec system like WoW as well.
That was one thing I always disliked about D2. Place a attrib or skill point wrong and it's there forever. You end up trying to make your way through the first 20 levels without spending hardly any skill points, so you have more to spend on the good skills. It was enough to make me break out the character editor to redistribute my points. Although they kind of fixed that with one of the latest patches where they provide limited benefits to later skills. _________________

Yep 100% sure there is no more attribute points and of course you will be able to remove rune stones because they keep on dropping and so on. can't wait! _________________

@ Grim: You mean the skill synergies in Diablo 2? That's been around for years! Damned good update, though - it really was a great idea. _________________

Yeah that's probably it. It's been a while since I got to a decent level in D2. Usually get sick of playing through Ch1 and give up the urge =) _________________

You know it may sound stupid but i have NO fears for diablo 3. Seriously blizzard takes there sweet ass time to make it right and they have yet to let me down. I don't care if it comes on console actually i wouldn't mind if it did because of course they would work on the PC and release that then they would do the console version. Meanwhile i play the death out of pc version it comes to console i get that and play the death out of that like borderlands.

Wow that skill synergy patch came out in 2003. I'm pretty sure I've played it since then. There was even a patch last year... that included a respec function?!
Dedication from Blizzard there. Same with Starcraft 1. _________________

The difference is it took Blizzard eons to actually compile and release the updates. I vividly remember a nearly 2yr wait for the fabled patch v1.10, back in the day... _________________

Haha i feel your pain, I waited more than 10 years for starcraft 2 but boy was it worth it, Sc2 is one of my favorite games ever. When Blizzard are making a game I just think its good that they take their time on it and release it when it is actually ready, too many games are released with bugs and require patches just to make them function correctly, but at least with a Blizzard game you know it will work.
Diablo 3 will probably be a day 1 Purchase for me just like Sc2 was.

Diablo III Auction House.
Big news: It works with in-game gold and real-world money. _________________ Twitter | XBL: Tamaaya | PSN: stormo | GameCentre/Steam: StorminNorman

These microtransaction trends are going to make me broke. I'm already addicted to hats in TF2.

Its funny but i don't really have a problem with this. They really had to combat d2 websites that sell items and really won't this just put up the gold value in ah meaning gold will actually matter this time around?. I mean if you don't want to spend money spend gold.. And really if you don't want to spend money go out and grind for it like jesus that is what i will be doing... (mind you i will only use the gold type auction house)... _________________

It's understandable given that they probably want to prevent any sort of cheating and not to undermine their auction house. It's kind of sad that there's no offline or open realm mode where you can just do whatever though. Granted: I never played D1 or D2 with mods other than character editors
Maybe there'll be an offline-play mod(aka a crack) _________________

^ I get what he is saying but I don't agree with it. The constant online authentication is a fail, the restriction on modding is a fail, and most of all, the real world money is a fail. That's my opinion.
I won't buy it on release, I'll wait a while to see what happens with all these factors.

D3 is meh to me now. I'll probably end up buying it still, eventually.
I find it kind of funny that people seem to be ok with the always online to play the game thing. When Ubisoft did it everyone went crazy

Well I could put it down to a simple love for Blizzard games, but that'd be ignoring that your character will be stored online, a host of online features (achievements, chat, etc), multiplayer and the auction houses. Ubisoft didn't really add much, just used it as DRM.
It basically sounds like 'closed realm' play from Diablo 2. Still kind of weird though given Starcraft II allows offline play. _________________
