I agree.
While cool, it does feel buggy and a little slow.
Though time will tell. _________________

It's O K. It's pretty laggy and unresponsive. The fitness thing was probably my pick. I didn't really like any of the other games. Aventures was fun but not any more fun then what's available on the Wii.
It has potential but it wasn't really a polished experience. I certainly won't be buying one anytime soon unless they release something amazing. |
Strange I know dance central and kinect adventures are pretty damn responsive and nearly have no lag when I play. I think its a completely different experience than the wii and even if they are comaparable even kinect sports and wii sports feel worlds apart _________________

BIg W had kinect on sale for $112. Bought one. Impressions to follow. It'll be here in 1-2 days. I'll buy Dance Central somewhere or another. _________________

SO...
Got it set up and my x360 is finally being used after oh, 1+ years. No joke.
Kinect Adventures... played a little bit, thought the fish cracking glass + leaks one was innane but fun. They're all a little like that. Visuals are prettyish and it seemed fun. The ball hitting one, seems a bit iffy... but now to the main reason why I got a kinect
Dance Central.
I'm very unco. and It can be very tough. The moves I struggle with the most involve the feet moves.I think the thing here is training but damn if the title isn't super polished, and super fun to play. Had people round, we played it and it was a riot. love Dance Central. I see myself putting a lot of time into this. _________________

Dance Central is pretty great. Had people over on Saturday and we all had a blast with it. One of my mates wants me to bring the x360+Kinect over to his place for his housewarming.

apparently Kinect Children of Eden is amazing. Can't wait for it.
* bought the control and straight up DC dlc _________________

I've had Kinect for a week and a bit now, i like it.... although deep down i probably won't be using it a lot. It came with Kinect Adventures and Dance Central.... but the real reason why i got it was for Michael Jackson: The Experience (which is a pretty good game, if i do say so myself).

I don't have a Kinect, but i remember when it came out that there was news of it not being able to recognise Aussie accents (among others). I know that there was an update planned to fix that, but i never heard anything about it again, so i was just wondering if the update was ever released.

It's a good addition to a mixed household of casual and core gamers. My girlfriend loves playing Kinect Adventures and Kinect Sports and I think it's fun in certain contexts (parties and gatherings). But I otherwise don't touch the thing. _________________

MJJ experience is pretty poor compared to dance central. The litle figures on stage you're meant to mimic are real people and tiny compared to the DANCE Central guy on screen. You can hardly tell what is going on. And I'm playing on a 52" tv.
Dance Central = 10/10 as a motion dance dance
MJJexperience = 5/10 from the time I've spent with it.
Kinects have been going cheap. I think it was $99 a week or so back? _________________

hmm interesting . I bought 4GB xbox slim console with kinect and 3 games bundle $229 ... Sold the kinect sensor and 3 games for $202.. So I pretty much paid $27 for the console and controller then bought genuine 250gb hard drive $57. LOL so to me its a bargain brand new xbox slim includes 250gb hdd for $84 all up.
yeah to me im not the kind of person who would get up and dance around the room.......
I thought it was cool to have that when i bought eyetoy ps2. so i played that for 5 mins and realised that its not for me ... so i got rid it immediately . _________________

After the news of the R2D2 360, my interest in Kinect has been renewed but I had killed it after reading how it might break the non-slim 360.
Since now it has been around for a while, did anyone here tried Kinect with a 360 that didn't come with Kinect? Is it true that it will break the console after a few hours? I really really want to try Dance Central. _________________ "Work hard now, play even harder later"

Haha what the shit? I've had my x-box for years and never had a problem with the Kinect. _________________

Now I'm more confused. I've been told by multiple people how it can ruin a non-slim 360 *head explodes*
Last thing I want is to buy a Kinect just for it to fail on me. _________________ "Work hard now, play even harder later"

One of the regulars that I talk to at work has an old Arcade, and he's had a Kinect sensor since day one. I think it's really just based on one's luck. Of course, don't let that detract you from buying the most awesome looking LE Xbox yet (coming from a Reach Console Edition owner) =P _________________

well, mine still works. I expect my launch model to die anytime soon so; no shock if it dies though.

Are you sure your box wasn't just fucked? I'm still yet to have a single problem playing Kinect on my old x-box. (Not launch model since my old old one had allready died a couple of years ago) _________________

The Gunstringer. Buy it.
This would have to be my favourite Kinect game so far. The story and things that happen are completely ridiculous, the game is varied perfectly. you have moments where you have to control the Gunstringer avoiding obstacles while shooting enemies, then you'll jump into battles where have to jump out of cover and quickly shoot the enemies. there are moments with more difficult obstacles to navigate (you have to be careful not to panic and move too quickly)
Minor spoiler:
One of my favourite moments so far you're riding through the air on a firework, both hands are controlling constantly firing guns shooting streams of enemies also flying on fireworks that explode when you shoot them.
This is just simple good fun, and it's challenging! Awesome value at $44 and you get Fruit Ninja for free.
Also I all ready bought Fruit Ninja so if anyone wants my download code shoot me a PM. _________________

Bumping old discussion
My Xbox (Purchased July 2006) has gone through 2 RRODs.
First time it happened randomly, so I got it repaired.
It got RROD 2 months after, this was during the week I was using Kinect (This was sometime in January)
My Xbox has been working fine since then *touchwood
But yea, it could all be luck, some greater power beyond my understanding is at work here... _________________

I can confirm that my launch 360 hasn't been killed by Gears3's advanced shader/engine and neither has it been killed by kinect.

Gunstringer is $28 at Harvey Norman! (catalogue price, so storewide price)
I've played 2 chapters of Gunstringer so far and its really fun but sometimes i find the shooting a little unresponsive. Fruit Ninja in comparison seems a bit too sensitive to my arm movements at time but they're both great games and great value at HN's price.
