Thankyou guys Yeah I was hoping the ratings would be more accurate but TA would definitely be more accurate actually as its more consistent. I might start screwing with the ratings on the weekend or wednesday.
And Pagan sorry the guide was constantly stuffing up on me so I was reposting it and deleting it every 20 seconds or so, thats why your post ended up before the guide XD
Ah Cro I only wish for you to get the achievements in the games you like, they add a bit of extra to your game. Its kinda like DLC, a lot of it's bad, a small portion of it's great. But if you already loved the game to begin with, than it's a good chance it'll be enjoyable
So yeah see ya for tonight guys....my eyes are burning lol

Well on Friday I finally got all the original achievements in Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit.
Thought about getting all the DLC and finishing it all off, but online is a ghost town, so no chance of that. _________________

I am so god damn close to completing Halo Reach. All I need is the bastard-child double kill from the grave achievement and i'll be on it.
In the mean time, I just completed Mass Effect 2! My last achievement was the achievement that involved me finishing the game on insane difficulty. Wow, that was fun! And extremely frustrating, too! _________________

Double kill from the grave sounds impressive to pull off, though kinda weird. My best thought would be to play a free for all oddball match and stick someone as your about to die. Though you probably tried this 400 times already XD
EDIT: Also, hard to find but if you could be lucky to get the flamethrower on an oddball match and just lightly 'drizzle' it over a few people...they should die after you most the time?
For any halo 3 fans, how did you get the 'Two for One' achievement? I am about to try randomly firing into groups in oddball/king of the hill. But I am beyond hopeless with the Spartan Laser. Should of seen me trying to destroy a banshee with one for the 'Too close to the sun' achievement XD Gotta admit I had a lot of fun trying to do that though

I have been anticipating Madden 12 for a while..... after reading the achievements list that was posted for it the other day. I'll look forward attempting to 1000/1000 it. Despite how easy the past games have been (well 06, 07, 08, 09 and 11). I have not officially 1000/1000 a Madden game yet, i've had unfinished business with each game (anything from 1 achievement remaining to 4 achievements remaining in each title etc).

I ended up getting that one by firing at a warthog with a bunch of people in it on Sandtrap. Got the achievement 100% unintentionally, too! =P
I wish that Bungie (or Microsoft, who takes the reigns starting tomorrow) would host a dedicated Living Dead playlist on Halo 3 again. I'm never going to get the two achievements related to Infection unless I magically come across the gametype on Rumble Pit, which never happens. D= _________________

It's funny how there is a varied opinion on achievements being good/bad for gaming, easy vs hard etc. I noticed when i popped on XBL last night that they have a new menu in the marketplace that lists a few of the easy or "fun" achievement point earners in both the XBLA and Games on Demand service.
I thought it was amusing anyway.

I already have a few of the suggested games that they had in the Games on Demand list (eg: Fight Night Round 3). I just thought it was amusing with the debate on various forums about easy vs hard achievements, whether they are detrimental to a games enjoyment and whatnot. Yet M$ are promoting and advertising games specifically with easy achievements.

Hey guys, I really apologise for this. But I've decided to leave the list as it is for the time being. The reason I'm abandoning it is because it doesn't work imo, partly because the ratings don't work, as difficulty can be very subjective, and partly because it's kind of disrupted the main purpose of this thread, one that I quite enjoyed.
I would like to get this thread more back on topic, as I love hearing about the individual games you guys play and the snippets of information you post about the game along with it. And because the thread regards achievements sometimes a funny/cool/supermadangry story comes out of it, which wouldn't happen in the 'What are you playing now' thread.
Oh and I also saw that channel on the menu that Xtreme is talking about, was a bit disappointed to see it as I thought it was a cheap way to sell games, don't mind them advertising games with fun achievements...but I find playing games for easy achievements is still pretty sad imo
Do you guys here care about GS? I couldn't give a screw about my GS personally, I love the achievements for individual games, whether they are 5G or 70G doesn't phase me as I'm having buttloads of trouble getting these 5G achievements on Halo 3 compared to the relatively easy 125G I got for completing the game on Legendary. Tbh I find the amount of GS given for some achievements these days are fairly ridiculous, especially in the Halo games. I think achievements shouldn't be worth more than 75G, as you can save that GS and make another achievement that might make the game more fun or something..I don't know.
I'm also looking really forward to seeing the achievements in Halo AE, Halo 4, Skyrim and Lego Harry Potter years 5-7. I really hope Skyrims achievements aren't as boring as Oblivions were!
----------------------------------------------------------
Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince - 1000/1000
I really love these games, you can't take my word for it as you probably know I'm incredibly and blindly in love with anything Harry Potter. But I thought it was really good, I rank it a bit below OoTP however it depends on the person as both games are very similiar. I found it disappointing that they took out the Chess, Gobstone and Exploding Snap minigames, but they did put in a Potions game which I thought was excellent! They also dumbed down the exploration elements a bit as you cannot collect orbs anymore by casting spells on weird things, rather there are these minicrests to find lying around which wasn't as fun to collect. Also the story didn't translate as well to the game as OoTP did. However having said that, I still loved the game and enjoyed it immensely
Lego Harry Potter Years 1-4 - 1000/1000
Queue more bias haha, another enjoyable game for me. I have to admit though, after playing through one Lego game you definitely need an extensive break before the next one. I don't know why but in the end the games become a drag. Is a pretty good game though, the humour in some of the parts got a laugh out of me, especially the achievement Solid Snape where you have to hide in a barrel as Snape lol. I feel the mechanics of the wizarding world were underused though, in fact most puzzles were just using Wingardium Leviosa to put things together, something that could of been done with your hands practically. There is not much unique abilities here compared to the other Lego games imo. Having said that, I thought this game was better than Lego Indiana Jones, and the way you access levels has improved heaps, with the entire Hogwarts essentially being the Hub.
Sonic the Hedgehog - 200/200
I had this a while ago on the Sega Megadrive ultimate collection but just didn't like it at all. I don't know why I loved it this time when buying it from the Arcade, but I highly enjoyed it. For rather simple gameplay designs they come up with good ideas for bosses and levels and such. I really liked the last boss too! I can almost bet there are still secrets I don't know about. The company who ported the game to Arcade did a really good job, they also added the feature of Quicksaves and such (Otherwise no way I could of beat the game without dying lol).
Marble Blast Ultra! - 250/250
An enjoyable game for XBLA, sadly I think you might not be able to purchase is anymore, which is why Digital Downloads are a bit of a shame. The achievements weren't that hard but for a few of the Easter Eggs I definitely needed an online guide, some were extremely well hidden, one was even practically the middle of the sky lol! I wished there were more levels made too, got the cravings for more puzzles of this kind

Just completed MySims Sky Heroes for 1000/1000. I bought it mainly because it was super cheap and it kinda looked fun. Achievement guide said "3/10" in difficulty, but I think it is harder than that.
The game, I think, is OK, sort of like Mario Kart with the added extra dimension (from flying). But because the AI 'cheats' so much (rubber banding, impossible maneuvers) it made it extremely frustrating. I can't convey in words how frustrating it was. The game isn't hard, but the annoyance and frustration was high. Some missions I had to do like dozen times to get Gold for the achievement. I would have the highest kill count in a dogfight, yet I was coming last, I had no idea how the scoring worked.
There are cut scenes you couldn't skip, adding to the annoyance. And once the story mode is finished, I had to grind out the X kills with Y weapons achievement for hours.
The planes flew and controlled well I thought, and graphics were cutesy and bright. If not for the AI cheating and the grinding after the story, I think it was a pretty decent game. Pity the developers ruined by these additions.

Completed Bastion for 200/200. Pretty decent game, very pretty. Plays pretty well, and you can make it hard or easy, whatever you feel like. I thought that the unlocks and weapon upgrades came a bit slow to my liking, but when I played New Game+ for the achievements, the game could be played in a very short time, so I guess I just took a little longer mucking about on the first playthrough.
I was not a fan of the maps where you can pretty much fall off everywhere. You roll to evade/dodge, but since you can't control much when rolling, I tended to fall off the edge, so in the end, I didn't use it frequently, which sort of defeats the purpose of putting it in the game. Same with weapons with kick backs - you shoot and you get knocked off the edge, so again, some weapons are cool and all, but I didn't end up using it because it causes you to fall off the edge.
Overall, pretty neat little game, and short, easy 200.

Finally finished Fallout New Vegas + DLC (1405/1405) last week after about 120 hours of play! 115 hours spent in my main character's game, then i started a new game with a girl with Luck set to 10 to get the "Courier Who Broke the Bank" and the Caravan card game achievements. Looking forward to the fourth (and final) DLC, whenever its released...
And today i clocked Alan Wake + DLC (1500/1500), nicely landing on 80,000 GS in the process Probably about 30 hours all up as it requires 2 full playthroughs, and there's heaps of collectibles. Nightmare difficulty was a pain though (in many parts its advisable to just run to the light!), so it was good to be able to go back down to Normal for the DLC achievements.

Completed Portal 2 for 1000/1000. Pretty cool game, some of the co-op chambers were a real brain bender. There was an achievement to finish 9 chambers in a row (all of course 4) in co-op and we'd get to like 7 of 9 or 8 of 9 and accidentally dying forcing us to restart, LOL.
Overall, it was a fun 1000. Achievement requiring 3 friends to hug sucked though.
Waiting for the free DLC in a few weeks to see what that may give us.

Ms. Splosion Man – 200/200.
Finished this up late last week (perfect timing with Deus Ex dropping tomorrow!) and, as expected, it’s unbelievable value at the asking price. 800 points? Seriously?! I don’t know, but there’s an insane amount of value here brimming with quality. I’d go as far as to say that the opening video is worth the 800pts alone, but that might be just me... So on to the achievements!
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Kd1M4TzhlgA&feature=related
Once again, Twisted Pixel know how to do achievements. From the laughably easy but awesome Star Road to the tough-as-nails Hardcore mode, attaining everything here will satisfy. I’ll skip the easy ones and get straight to business. Now there were a couple of multiplayer ones which were tough because they required you play with someone who was also fairly decent at the game. Lag is once again a factor when it comes to games which require such precision, and one level was close to unplayable due to the split second timing required, but it’s all pretty manageable for those with patience. Eventually. Some of the shoes in the multi maps were pretty devious, along with some crazy checkpoints later on, but patience and deep breaths are key to retaining sanity.
There’s a particular achievement which requires you beat a level without one of the players sploding, which was probably the biggest multiplayer challenge. Lag is killer here and i would strongly advise trying it locally if possible.
The big daddy, once again, is beating Hardcore. I reckon MSM is tougher than the original, but the goal is the same – there are no checkpoints and anything that hits you will instantly send you back to the start of the level. Memorisation is once again key, but it’s all very doable for those persistent enough. Some of the later maps can really become annoying, so breaks are essential.
Having the 200 is awesome, but i kinda play these games for the boards. In saying that, i finished up 5th overall, which is actually more satisfying than the 200. Awesome game that deserves so much more.

To the person that sniped me last night after I accidentally fired a stray rocket into a couple of guys, I thank you so much! I finally got the pain in the arse "double kill from the grave" achievement to complete my 1400/1400 for Halo Reach! So excite! =D _________________

Cars 2. Fun, easy for the most part and very quick to do. Wish it had an online mode that worked. Multiplayer looks brilliant (think San Francisco Rush 2049 styles). As it stands, I took it back to EB within 7 days as I couldn't justify the price for such a short game. _________________

Torchlight - 200/200. Shame there's no DLC to keep this one going, but the sequel isn't too far away (PC only though, good thing I'm upgrading soon.) The last achievement is the most difficult, takes a bit of time but it's worth it for some of the loot along the way.
