At least WWE learned how to book a "Somebody got fired" storyline. _________________

^ Good stuff that.
So I got curious and watch Cena v Punk. Without really knowing the storyline, you could still get a feel of how big this moment was supposed to be. Really enjoyed the match, which surprised me, Cena is one of the main reasons I stopped watching. He seems to have improved, but I think the Chicago crowd booing him helped me enjoy it.
Might watch the replay of Raw tommorrow morning, maybe. _________________

I love that CM Punk asked about Zack Ryder in that Comic-Con clip. Speaking of Ryder, he's Colt Cabana's guest on this week's Art of Wrestling podcast (can be heard on welovecolt.com and Itunes). CM Punk pops by for a cameo as they're recording the interview in his podcast studio. Fun fact: Punk was Ryder's first "Broski of the Week" on his youtube show.
Regarding the Comic-Con clip, if Vince wasn't 'relieved of his duties', i would have loved for him to be at the WWE panel and for Punk to sneak in and throw a pie in his face as a reference to what happened to Rupert Murdoch earlier this week

I think WWE in 06 or so... Not one hundred percent sure, time taken up by school and work may have been a factor.
TNA on n off for maybe a year after, the more old blokes they brought over, the less I wanted to watch.
I did catch Jeff Hardy win the WWE title as he was my fave when I started watching, but that's about it.
I've bits here n there somtimes, so knew of the NXT stuff, and laptop GM. _________________

Ahhh, that explains it.
Cena became accepted as an in-ring wrestler in 2007 with matches against Umaga, Shawn Michaels (x2), Orton and Lashley. Even his matches against Kahli were fairly watchable which is saying something.
With that said, he's cornier now than he was back then. _________________

It was good to see he has improved in ring, when he was so over he really didn't need to.
For me though I wasn't worried that he couldn't put on a ripping match, his character annoyed the **** out of me, and he was shoved down our throats so badly. I couldn't understand why they persisted with him as a face for so long, when any semi intelligent fan must have been sick of him by that point. I rated his early work as a heal, if only.. _________________

As mixed as his fan reactions were he actually proved to be quite the draw for the WWE and their most profitable years in their own history. To me, the Superman comparison is quite apt because I'm pretty mixed on Cena.
I won't spoil Raw since it hasn't aired yet but another good show and I'm waiting to see what will happen next week. Good television all-round. _________________

They've used that song before, promos for Stone Cold's introduction into the Hall of Fame a while back. It's a great track though.

I think everyone was worried what they would do to fill the time between this and the next Wrestlemania, what with Cena vs Rock already locked in. So glad Punk has the headlines right now, I always found him to be a great performer with the mic, his skills in the ring are some of the best out there right now. Just a shame it's still WWE limited, would have loved to see him cruise into another company and duke it out for a while.

It was Punk's entrance song for his final run in Ring of Honor before going to the WWE all those years ago.
Awesome homage. _________________

Well, just checked out the latest RAW.
All I can say is that the storyline can pretty much go eiether way, but thhere's a good 60% chance of WWE dropping the ball on this one. _________________

I honestly think they already have by giving it a whole what, 2 weeks, before CM punk came back? I thought it was pathetic, kind of goes against what he's been saying regarding certain people getting fired and treated higher than others. I don't mind that he's re-signed, but a 1-2 month wait would've been truly shocking and an awesome unification match once Cena knocked over a couple more opponents. He could've claimed that he's beaten all there is to beat then BAM! Cult of Personality, and buildup to the next major PPV after Summerslam. The vacated title was held by Cena for 30seconds before the true holder came back. It's basically not unifying anything and is a glorified rematch clause.
But I get that they're capitalising on the moment. But with all the recent events in the past 3-4 weeks, the ratings haven't really improved anyway.
Just heard about the TNA Destination X buy-rate. I lol'ed at 5000, seriously? Then I lol'ed some more when they said it's not much less than most of their others. Honestly amazed it's that little, they must really be struggling. Watched the latest TNA but didn't really enjoy it. I hate Sting's gimmick going on.
Off to watch Raw now.

I agree, they would have made a much bigger impact if they kept the tournament going for a month, with the finals taking place at Summerslam, with Del Rio wasting his MitB contract.
Ohh well...it was fun while it lasted _________________

Kenny Omega vs. 9 Year Old Haruka: one of those matches that you'd only see in Japan (or maybe Mexico). The girl performs better than the majority of the WWE Divas.
