So it has been confirmed that this won't be released in Australia on Launch....
Fucking ridiculous, they release it to just about every other backwater country (greece!?!?) yet not here. I understand we are further but still.
I don't really care if there aren't any Australian servers on launch however, just about every other mmo I've ever played has been on US servers and I haven't had any problems, the issue is that I wanted to get the CE, and undoubtedly it will change or become smaller by the time they get around to launching it here....I highly doubt it will be the same edition for us, whenever that may be.
Does anybody anticipate any problems in playing if i order it from Amazon? Surely they wouldn't block us or anything, its just not released locally. The only other thing I can think of is the damn shipping times, Amazon are absolutely shocking. I've waited 3 months for a few books now, and at the end of last year waited 4 months for my kindle to arrive.
All up from Amazon it would be $163 for the big CE...which TBH is very reasonable, no doubt if it was released here I'd think we'd be looking at $200 at least anyway.

Yeah i heard a rumour ages ago on Whirpool forums that we wouldnt get it on launch, looks to be true.

Picked it up the collectors via amazon for about ~$160 shipped priority. Thought it was a good deal because i have payed $150 for the AC collectors editions before and they seem to contain less then this and if it was released here it most likely would be $220 so i save money. Also i get before it offically releases in Australia so it is win/win.
Only problem i can foresee is that people are speculating that while people can access whatever server they want without region locking, people are worried that because it will most likely require Origin to launch, that origin will block you from opening the game up in the first place from an Aussie IP. Dosen't really matter to me personally because i can just use my american VPN to launch the game and then turn it off once i am in but i hope it dosen't effect other people if this is true.

Well someone apparently emailed them to ask if they will accept foreign credit cards and got a "yes" in reply. I know its slightly different to what you said about IP blocking, but sounds hopeful.

Yeah it seems that as long as you purchase the game, you can play anywhere in the world, with any IP.
SR (the community manager) tweeted this:

On region locking: right now things are unchanged, anyone can play #SWTOR from anywhere in the world on any server, but latency may affect.
Then he post this re credit cards:

Further on region locking - no answer on CCs for subs yet but hope to have one by Monday/Tuesday.
So looks like not everything is locked down officially but i am hopeful that when it arrives everything will be ok.
The only thing i have to worry about now is that i am most likely going to have to download somewhere between 30-40GB (on a 50GB plan) if i want to do the early access... :/
