Your GPU is still awesome. I'd wait for the 7xxx and 6xx series to be released, supposed to be 2-3x more powerful than current GPUs.

Only pic I currently have available. It's also a bit muddy:
Will post internals at a later date. _________________

What really? So are you saying I'd be better off with a single 7970 than 2*6970. I was thinking I'll get another 6970 before the 6xxx series is discontinued. _________________

Theoretically, it's meant to be 2-3x more powerful. Doesn't mean it'll happen though, and the only thing that'll straight out beat CFX/SLI setups would be the absolute top end stuff.
I generally don't buy the hype with cards that are a gen ahead. 4xx series from NVIDIA was underwhelming at best, and that was hyped through the roof. _________________

Yeah it's only estimates so far. It will be a new manufacturing process so it's safe to assume that the next generation will be a considerable jump in performance.
| Quote: | | Kepler's will be based on a 28nm fabrication process, and deliver an estimated 3 to 4 times the performance per watt compared to Fermi, which first products rolled out of the fabs only earlier this year. The roadmap also showed "Maxwell" due in 2013 supposedly bringing a sixteen-fold increase in parallel graphics-based computing just two years after that, including advanced features like the ability to autonomously process some content independent of a CPU. |

Decided to cut my PC up so I could see the insides.
$15 for the sheet of clear acrylic, $6 for the rubber extrusion and $8 for the clear liquid nails.
Really need to give the outside of the case a good clean. _________________

Updated pics after installing new power supply.
My crappy cable management job. To be honest this case has pretty bad cable management, it's impossible to get the 8pin through the hole in the upper right. I had to remove the 24 pin because there wasn't enough space for the back panel to fit back on.

This is my setup, i actually am trying to adjust to my LCD monitor once again . Became inspired as when i moved the machine away from the table in an attempt to clean around it, i moved it to the lounge room (only place with space). Funny thing was that i placed it next to the plasma tv... that got me thinking to hook it up to that, which i did and it was pretty cool (granted not the best resolution). Then i thought the monitor itself has been gathering dust since November..... hooked it up and while i still havn't found a comfortable brightness/contrast/colour level. The resolutions i have tested games with is phenomenal.
The image doesn't show it very well, but the colour is dominant, even when i select the default modes. When viewing white space, either on this forum.... or viewing My Computer / Windows Explorer... the white is too sharp to look at for extended periods of time (thinking of my eye sight here). If i adjust it, it is more bearable, but then it becomes an eye sore (don't get motion sickness from it, i just find it annoying that i can't get it to match the same viewing conditions as my crt monitor).

Picked up some new HDDs, so I thought I'd share my setup in the process!
I'm running all my PCs up to this one at stock, because I'm not confident with overclocking. Hopefully when I get some free time from work, i'll start looking at guides.

Haha! Yeah it's a stock cooler, i have refrained from picking something better until i decide to begin overclocking the hardware. However, I have overclocked my RAM in prior builds, hence the coolers, but this model has good latency timings, so I haven't gone ahead with them yet. _________________ Playing: Fallout: New Vegas

How do you guys keep your computers so clean? There's not even a fingerprint or spec of dust in some of these photos.

Hahah, I hope you're not talking about mine. The dust filters in the intake fans are filthy and really need cleaning.

In my photos mine is fairly dust free, but the gpu and cpu cooler were new when I took that photo, also I cleaned the front of my case.
There's not really anything found that helps to deal with dust other than keeping my PC on my desk rather than the floor (my room is carpeted) and cleaning it out every few months.
Speaking of dust though, are there any good filter mods for the antec 900? I'd love dust filters but the only mods I've seen for the antec 900 look like it'd be a bitch to clean the filters. _________________

All you childless people with your disposable incomes and clean, toy-free play spaces sicken me.
I heard someone say once "you can have nice furniture or children, not both" to which I mentally "or sick PC cases with multicoloured LEDs if you don't want you bbay crawling over to look at the pretty lights and pull your speakers onto the tiles, smashing them to Harvey Norman Heaven."
OK, now I have that out of my system I'll post my pics tonight.

If I could get away with something like that I would. It would be soooooooo much easier to clean and dust and extra airflow would be matter of positioning a desk fan.

Prepare to be amazed!
You may note the bright blue plastic fork. Not mine. Nor are the Baby Eisntein DVDs, which I want my money back for because they're plainly not working otherwise I wouldn't have to keep storing books on the desk to stop baby #2 pulling them from the bookshelf.
Also note the cheap arse speakers circa 486 processor era. These are because the last lot were smashed on the floor. You could probably guess how.
Currently running:
e8500 OCd to 4.15g
6G DDR2 RAM at 1066Mhz
ATI 6950 2g Unlocked to 6970 shader levels, not OCd because my CPU bottlenecks it.
I'll be upgrading to an i5 2500k and an Asrock Extreme 4 at tax refund time. I already have 8G of DDR3 16666Mhz RAM ready to go.
