50 characters. How can anyone complain? Oh, right, we've already spent $80+ on the game and they want us to spend another $80. Damn you, capcom.

Not happy with Capcom at all!

1. They don't give me a new Breath of Fire
2. They cancel Mega Man Legends 3
3. They don't release Mega Man X on the virtual console!
4. They don't make a new Mega Man X game!

...and now this! I recently bought the original MVC3 a month ago! Massive dick move by Capcom... f'n me around!

Happy to hear Strider (He does everything!) and Phoenix Wright are confirmed. Also confirmed is Vergil from DMC3.

Cool additions to the roster, but not impressed that this is apparently disc-only release (correct me if I'm wrong). Makes me wary of buying the first iteration of future Capcom fighting games as I won't be able to afford to upgrade them several times over.

Getting this day 1, at least it'll be budget price, not full retail price here...

BTW, there's TONS of other videos as well...

You know what? screw this. I ain't buying their crap anymore.

I already wasted money on **** DLC and thhese chharacters were supposed to support the game everyone bought THIS YEAR.

Then they screw up franchises like Megaman and DMC.

Man, screw Capcom. I'm done.

I dont mean to offend, but when was the last time capcom did something FOR the people? I mean that RE game they released on the 3DS wont even let you delete the save game to play again ?! Lets not forget the STILL current events plagueing Streetfighter IV and its 200,000 different ersions every 2 months

Bad capcom, BAD !!

You sound like you're actually surprised after: Street Fighter IV (Feb 2009), Super (April 2010), AE (June 2011)

I cut them some slack for Street fighter and Super since it was the first entry back into fighting games and it wasn't programmed with the nessecary code hooks for DLC, Arcade Edition was dlc wich is fine.
That's just supporting your game after release with DLC that's worth a damm, that's actually really cool.

MVC 3 has the DLC hooks, it had DLC characters all ready, there is no fucking reason this shouldn't be a DLC pack.

But it's disc only, so they can go fuck themselves.

Well you have to take into account that Niitsuma wanted to release DLC characters every month but the natural disasters that occurred in Japan screwed up all their plans and such, not to mention PSN being down and all. 12 characters, 8 new stages, new modes, spectator mode, balance changes and more will be massive for a DLC upgrade. AE only included the 4 new characters, balance changes and intro/endings and that was 1.4GB, just imagine how big UMvC3 would be. Disc is the only viable method now, and to be frank, $50 is damn good for what we are getting.

Niitsuma interview about UMVC3 here

Take from it what you will. I'll be one of the few people looking forward to this icon_biggrin.gif

Why not just start doing gradual DLC again when all that shit got sorted out?

Capcom are doing the exact same thing they did last time that killed the fighting game market by over saturating it with incremental updates.

It's like they're completley oblivious to what they did wrong last time.

I've been getting into this in a big way recently, after owning it for months and months. While this news frustrates me, I will still be picking it up.

I want to hate Capcom, but when they go and put Phoenix Wright into the game...I just can't. icon_razz.gif All I can say is that I'm really glad that I sold off my copy once I was done with it, I should be able to buy Ultimate with that money.

We can't hate Capcom because they make the world's best games. Simply put, they evolve the we love so no hate from me.

SFIV was perfect for me. I loved how they evoled the game over the last 3 years. MvC 3 is no different.

Wow dude really? They make some good games and some really shit games, and they don't do so much 'evolve' games as they do polish the shit out of old ideas. What have they done to actually evolve fighting games? It's still the same basic thing as SF 2 they've just polished the shit out of it, and made us pay for every itteration. They've also driven away a lot of there big tallent so now they're basicaly just left with Onno.

Yeah I can totally hate them. They're not getting any more fucking money from me.

yea but in the same year? spending upto $50-90 for a copy of MvC 3 only to find that it's redundant within the same year?

Great game or not, that just plain bites.
