@mrcool I thought the map pools were the same in all regions?

Just realised in my map preferences I have the 1v1 maps filtered out from back when I was struggling with early rushes, should probably change it as I can handle that stuff much better now.

I would have a game Myles, but I'm functioning off 1 hours sleep from last night so I'm off to bed, I'll add your tag and hit you up whenever you're free next.

To all the others, how many people are playing this lately? We should try and get that elimination tourney Myles originally organised that never eventuated for s***s and giggles, seems as though a few are coming back to it like Ltv and Shadow Wave and Echo whom I've spotted online over the past couple of weeks.

Blizzard to start linking some regions together.

No mention of SEA but the pairs mentioned are:
- NA + Latin America
- Europe + Russia
- Korea + Taiwan

Props for denny for finding this video; it is simply amazing; just beautifully constructed. It should be cycled around the community as much as possible i think.

Why is there a league in Exmouth? =\

Video was a little too long-winded for my liking.

Nice.

I haven't played 1v1 of team games for ages. Kinda bored of it, and enjoying SotIS heaps. I hear there's another ladder reset on the 19th, so I'll try and get back into it once that comes about.

What is SotIS?

And another ladder reset already? Any reason as to why it's so soon?

I don't think I'll ever get bored of 1v1, it's basically all I play. Still s***house at it though so no reason to stop.

I think SotIS is basically DOTA

Season 2's been running for 6 months, which is about how long Season 1 lasted and probably how long Season 3 will be.

Lol. I don't even know what DOTA is, I generally don't pay attention to anything outside the main game. I should google all this stuff over the weekend.

And man time must fly when you're having fun. I thought it was about 5 weeks tops since kurupt announced the last ladder reset.

Yeah, SotIS is Dota. Basically there 2 teams of 5 players that select a hero. There are 3 attack paths to attack/defend. It's what League of Legends is based off. Exactly the same, except Starcraft characters.

So the league reset started today.

Once I knew the season was locked, I started to learn another race by playing Terran in Gold 1v1 and have gone from from pathetic to half reasonable. So much better losing against the gold players when starting out then coming back to an almost even ratio after about 40 or so games. Have been doing a 1rax 1factory 1port build.

What pisses me off though is the new placement. I finished gold 24 last season and just won my placement match, but it threw me back into silver icon_sad.gif I think those terran matches once the season was locked had something to do with it. I'll probably just stick with Terran for a while now rather than going back to protoss.

How do I access a SotIS game? I looked in custom games for the first time last week couldn't find it.

Yeah, while the ladder is locked, your MMR still changes. If you lost heaps of games while it was locked, you probably lost heaps of MMR points and deranked you. At least now when you get into gold as Terran, and you go back to Protoss, you'll notice your mechanics has improved and will enjoy it again.

To get to SotIS, you go to Multiplayer, then click Join Game. Go to Most Popular and it's called Storm of the Imperial Sanctum. Should be 2nd on the list.

Was sick of the 3v3's and 1v1's so I finally gave SotIS ago....

I want to like it but finding it hard to after the first game. I picked a crappy character which sucked, and I need to get used to all the buying options, I didn't really know what to buy. The other thing I hated was the length. I only played one game and it took took 1 hour and 10 minutes and even then it wasn't finished and everyone quit.

Just doesn't seem like there's alot of actual skill involved (except towards the end). Just pick off the computer enemies, level and money up, then go shopping, then attack player enemies behind the computer's enemy line.

In terms of the ladders, I'm still addicted to it at the moment, will probably spend another few hours on there tonight. Enjoying it the most now that I just choose random for everything rather than just concentrating on one race. Zerg was super tricky at the start, but slowly getting used to it.

I've been control grouping 1 and 3 for hatcheries, and 2 and 4 for their relative queens. Just wondering what hotkey options most zerg players (who am I kidding, Grim and Kurupt) use for zerg?

Whats the stealth detection unit for zerg and how do I train one? Still all confused with all the 'ings' and 'isks' at the end of each name.

Hotkey options? If you mean like layout I use grid. If you mean like control groups:

1-3 armies, usually a separate group for mutas and infestors
4 all hatcheries
5 all queens
8-0 any overseers i have

Detectors for Zerg are the overseer (upgraded overlord after you get a lair) and the spore crawler (requires evo chamber and morph a drone, it's under basic buildings)

I haven't played in ages. Might try and get on tonight to have a few games and do my placements again.

Yeah sorry I meant control groups. I never thought all queens on one control group would work for spawning larvae on each hatchery? I'd like to know exactly what you press to spwan larvae to each hatchery.

Maybe I've been doing it wrong all this time, even with protoss. Say, when I would activate chrono I'll always physically click on the nexus to get it going. Is there a way to stop this and chrono probes whilst not looking at your base?

Mind potentially blown.

If a few more people are free tonight also, maybe we could get some PALGN games happening, 3v3's or some custom ones.

There's no crappy characters, they just take some getting used to. Chances are in your first game, you weren't levelling as fast as everyone else, which just leads you to die a lot in the mid and late game.

It's not just killing the NPC's, you're also trying to drive them away from the battle, so they don't get XP.

The games can be a bit long if the teams are relatively even. Longest game I think I've had was around 1 hour 30, though generally a game only lasts 20-40 minutes, as a lot of players like to rage quit if they're not going so well, or they're heaps bad and we pump through them.

123 is army, 4 is hatches, 5 is queens. I have backspace set to tab so I can just tab between hatches when injecting. To do the fastest inject method, place all queens on one hotkey, then double tap it to take it to the nearest queen, press V, then shift, then click on the hatch, backspace, click on the hatch, backspace, click on hatch, etc. Can inject 5 hatches this way in under a second.

I don't like the backspace method. I use the minimap.
Quote:
5 to select all queens
x to inject (IIRC)
shift click on all hatcheries on the minimap

I don't need to look away from my army to do this and the closest queen with energy will automatically move to each hatch and inject.

Same thing can be done with all Protoss Nexus or Terran Command Centres for chrono boost and mules. You'll just use any (or all) of the selected buildings that have energy

I should probably do my placement matches soon. Though I might leave one empty to see if it resets the MMR when I go to place next season.
