What weapon should I specialize in in WKC? I was thinking spear/shield for defense or go all out with an axe/hammer. Can you reset skill points or are you stuck with what you go with?

Resets at the start of WKC2 so you can change. You can reincarnate your character down to lvl35 to get bonus skill points and a reset at the end... not sure how this works in WKC2 though. You get to experience all the classes as the other characters in the main WKC1 story.
I was a spear wielder in WKC1, I changed over to staff and elementalist about 5 hours into WKC2 as the changes to the remastered gameplay and a few spear skills meant it's not as useful as it used to be in the original WKC1. Most online melee veterans use longswords or axes and they do crazy damage. Like my most advanced spell does 1200hp at the moment and the axe wielding chick next to me will jump up and mow down a giant troll in a 3000hp combo The bow is a nice class in WKC2 too, if you put haste on yourself then the action gauge reload for bow users is practically instantaneous. I think the problem with spear wielders is that now, if you're out of mp or action chips you're not going to be very useful, they removed the action chip refill spear move D= I have to add that high level axes and longswords are pleasing on the eye in terms of their design.
Have a look through the skill tree: http://www.gamefaqs.com/ps3/974870-white-knight-chronicles-ii/faqs/62029 _________________

I hope Tales of Graces F sells well as that could have a big influence on whether Xillia gets localized or not.
Thanks for the helpful info, OropherX. I think I'm getting the hang of the game now. I've gone with axes for now. Can we do some quests this weekend or do I need to be higher in level? I'm only level 7 .

It shouldn't matter, there are some quests which don't require a guild rank. I'd rather Ad and neo come on at the same time though so all 3 of yous can get guild points, I'm on guild rank 15 and want to do some of these guild rank 13, 14 and 15 guests with you guys but that's going to take some time to rank up! Probably keep doing that ancient dragon quest over and over. Should be ok if you stay next to me, I can take down one of the dragons in a few hits with the first version of that quest.
Anyway my Strange Journey just shipped, if it's not my thing then... well it's not a huge loss. I'm going to stop watching Xillia trailers, they make me depressed coz I'll be so old by the time, if it ever, gets localised. _________________

I think we need to co-ordinate our WKC2 playing. We could organise a particular time tonight for all of us to go online, as long as we're all able to. _________________

Sunday is fine for me too . It'll give me some time to level up a bit.
I gave your Georama town a visit, OropherX. It's very cramped .

Already spent 40 000 gold for the uphill area which became full after 2 houses now need 100 000 gold to expand it again <_< I'm so tempted to buy the stone stairway from DLC >_> _________________

I think you'll like it a lot. It has that addictiveness that dungeon crawlers give but throws in an awesome story and characters. It's one of the most mature and engaging stories on the DS in my opinion. I got to the last boss but never beat it because it kept using instant death attacks. It's certainly not as easy game, the dungeon layouts get extremely complex and the boss enemies pack a punch.

Strange Journey is a great game, I wouldn't have been able to beat it without the help of password demons and hording macca.
The last few bosses are positively brutal, in a good way of course, absolutely love it when a game throws heaps of challenge at you at the end (unless it's because of the controls).
Oropher, I doubt you'll regret your purchase.
Pagan, which path did you end up on?

lol there's a boss in WKC2 practically identical to the dragon god boss in demon's souls both in size and how you beat it. Almost destroyed my party when I took the outside short path to get to the chain switches good thing I'm overleveled XD
Also I got most of the axe skills for Caesar and been controlling him. I didn't expect axe wielders to be this destructive, nightmare + aftermath = lots of damage.
edit: nvm game over, i call bs on that boss battle the moment it | Quote: | | broke off the chains and the black knight entered to help it. Yes the big boss is the one shown at the end of the WKC2 opening from the title menu |
-_-
All my Mana Potion IIIs T_T
edit 2: won with my 5th attempt, ended up solo'ing that boss while ignoring the second one while taking damage, even for a pass i guess hopefully boss 2 didn't have a rare drop. If you're not on lvl60 by that fight then forget winning it XD Anyway last dungeon unlocked now. Might do more errands before finishing off WKC2 story. _________________

Man, sounds like I missed a ton of announcements while I was away -_- but if it helps, I bought two Strange Journeys over there? :'D That gives me brownie points, right?
chibiandy, where did you find WKC: Origins for $27? Sounds like a decent price. _________________

That's a good question. I got my copy from ozgameshop for $31.50, and I thought that was very reasonable. _________________

Is it okay to drop Leonard from my active party line up? It won't hurt me down the track because he'll be way underleveled? I want to put Kara in my party .

You can if you want though I don't recommend it... can't say anything else coz it's a spoiler but don't make Kara your dedicated healer or anything or you'll struggle towards the end of WKC1 =P I'm guessing you have Elidore in your party? Never liked the guy, sounds too grumpy =p Feel free to drop Leonard in WKC2 though. He temporarily leaves for a good portion of the story and so he's currently 15 lvls below everyone else on my party and I've given up on him.
Caesar's the man! Except his lame puns but I think that's a stupid localisation thing :/ _________________

There's no way I'd have Elidore in my party, he's too old and boring!
I have Yulie as my healer and I'd like to drop Leonard for Kara and make her a dedicated mage. I guess I'll have to keep Leonard I suppose. He's not annoying but he sure is dull to wander around with.

LOL you're about to make the exact same mistake I made in WKC1. Not that anyone else apart from Elidore fits as mage though :/ Oh well you don't really need a mage to finish off WKC1 but it saves time to immolate a mob all at once. _________________

I don't like the battle system so I run away from battles/avoid them in the field 3/4 of the time. I've managed to survive through to act 2 =p I waste a lot of money on potions though, haven't really upgraded party member equipment, but they seem to be fine _________________
