I've only read the first book, and watched the first film. The book was alright, the movie was kind of lame. It is for kids so, maybe if I was twelve I'd enjoy the whole thing more.

Finished in 8 hours ^^b
Also, first use of the word "****" in a Harry Potter book.
Oh, and the usual plot twists, statements of the horrendously obvious, and a death... _________________

4 was my favourite also, but I was sad there was no Quiditch in it. But you kinder have to read 1,2,3 to understand 4. _________________

The wait for book seven is going to feel exceedingly long. J.K. has set it up really well.
SPOILERS (carefully worded though)
About Dumbledore's horrendous misjudgement of character: I always knew he was mistaken. I feel infuriated that he stubbornly stuck to his opinions in spite of evidence to the contrary, especially with the way things turned out. _________________

I agree, that was pretty damn brutal, the only time he saw the truth was...well...
Have you figured out who R.A.B is? I have a theory... _________________

Did anyone else feel that there was a chapter missing from the beginning, or should I re-read book5? _________________ [themak was here]

/sigh , she takes so long in writing them that I've now forgotten the plot to the previous few ...
Hopefully it'll all come flooding back once I start reading the new one tommorow , but can anyone who has read it say whether it would be useful to re-read any of the previous installations before I embark on it ?
Thanks~ _________________

she (Ms. Rowling) should be forced to take an editor again...
this self indulgent writing is really starting to rub me the wrong way... (well, it started last volume... but never mind)
she could reduce the amount of trees it takes to publish a book by 75% if she had a decent editor... [/exaggeration] _________________

I do think she does need an editor. Not saying I could write any better, but some parts of what I've read so far just don't sound right... _________________

Dumbledore was a fool, he had to much love unlike Harry who had the markings of Voldermort brushed against him. His anger and passion drives him. And im pretty sure he will be returning in the next book, just not in his normal physical form - no doubt he will become a portrait due to his importance.
R.A.B, been thinking on it all morning and I have no clue - what do you think man?
EDIT: Regulas A Black - I think thats our answer hehe
I also have a feeling that Harry himself is a horcrux, it makes perfect sence. Makes the prophecy true... _________________

Thats the same conclusion I reached. Since it is expressly stated elsewhere that Regulas Black was killed for running away.
I think Dumbledore now does have a portrait. I want to know what happens to Fawkes now. _________________

Also in the 5th book, Regulas was said to have always wanted to be on the winning side. Maybe he saw he wasnt on the winning side and decided to destroy Voldermort after seeing he was intrested in no one else except himself. And for this trechary like you said - he was killed.
Im guessing Fawkes will help Harry in the last book, dont know if he will be staying at Hogwarts anymore though? he escaped. _________________

Not ... really... it says "either must die at the hands of the other for neither can live while the other survives", if I remember. Only one of them need perish. _________________

hmm its tricky. "neither can live while the other survives" - you have to read that a few times. How does this effect Voldemort?
I mean Dumbledore said that Voldemort might have transfered a part of his soul to Harry (really this isnt a might have, as Harry recieved many attributes that Tom had). Furthermore, if Harry is a descendent of Gryffindor like a lot of people believe, this would be the one Gryffindor "object".
EDIT: Another thing that points towards Regulas is that he address's the letter to the dark lord. Which only the death eaters called him. _________________

and what about that time, at band camp...
ahem
anyway, there were protesters in Perth yesterday against the book and were holding up signs with spoilers on them... (or i assume they were accurate, since i've not read the book... things like "Snape Kills Dumbledore")
i thought it was funny since the people who care have already read that by now...
Hyperworm Edit: No they haven't, GTPod included, please continue to be careful of spoilers =)
ObsoletE Re-Edit: Given the thread title has "Spoilers" posted in it now (and did when i made this post) i assumed it was safe to post them... sorry if i ruined it for anyway, but yeah... don't read things with Spoiler in the title if you don't want it spoilt... _________________

225 Pages in and loving it so far, has the same charm and suspense as the last 5 novels.
Only problem now is that my studies are taking a back seat, oh well shouldn't be too long till I finish.
So hard to avoid spoilers in here... I ain't coming back till I have finished the novel (parents actually don't want me reading a book for more than 2 hours at a time...)

Just finished the book and I loved it. Possibly my favourite so far, at least the most emotional. I had to try and finish it ASAP before everyone at school would give away spoilers.
SPOILERS
I wonder what the 7th book will turn out like. With Harry not going back to school. Because I really loved the bits when they are in school, hearing about useless things like their classwork and friendships etc. _________________

huh, should read Kzone or something. I remember a few years back they started this thing where kids have theories about what was to happen. Should be a lot more discussion now i reckon. Only read to half way through 3rd chapter since my sister won't let me read it 'til she finishes (T_T)oh well.
A bit strange this time round though. This time, we don't see Harry 'till the start of the 3rd chapter, and when we do, he's sleeping next to a window. Always a new way to introduce the hobbit...hero. _________________

i probably won't read it until the paperback comes out... unless i can get it from a library... ( i can't even say that with a straight face)
i don't buy hardcover novels... ever...
and even if i did, i'm not paying $50+ for one when the standard price for a hardcover novel is $30-$35 _________________
