Unlike Jessara, I have encountered no shinies sadly, although I'm insanely jealous of the Golett shiny as it's my favourite looking shiny this gen. I've only ever gotten 2 shinies ever, A green weedle in Gold, and a painstakingly hatched Yanma in Pearl. Is there anyway to increase shiny probability in this game?
Anyways, just got to route 9 and I've been doing pretty damn well on my pokedex, If I where to evolve everything I'd have close to 115 pokemon captured in the dex.
I love the region of this game, it's very cool. |
With the Golett...have a Watchog with the Illuminate ability in the first slot and encounter pokemon in the first floor of Dragonspiral Tower. Run from each battle until you find a shiny _________________

It only has 153 pokemon so it seems pretty useless. _________________

its only going to have like 20 to begin with, its a first 3d pokedex what do you expect? plus its for black and white so it doesn't have ALL the pokemon.
Its still going to include all the details that a paper/online pokedex's have _________________

Online Pokedexes have more info, like base stats, EV drop, egg groups/moves, Gen III/IV movesets and other things which are very useful to competitive battlers. _________________

true, we will have to wait till the update to find out how much they are going to include in it.
Also if they intend in the future to create a full pokedex of all the pokemon _________________

So...are people still playing this game? How's everybody's team going?
I'm finally on holidays so just started on all the post-game shenanigans.
Transferred over my ultimate Pokemon Hunter (Gallade) and was able to catch a Tornadus in a reasonable amount of time (at least compared to Grounden on Ruby...that required Ocean's Eleven type planning).
Currently training my team up. Sticking with the two fixtures I had in the lead up to the Elite 4 in Samurott and Krookodile but beginning to expand with staples such as Volcarona, Reuniclus and Hydreigon. Will experiment around with the team of course, but at this stage just looking to clock the game.
I think this is the first time since the original series I've got nuts on collecting Pokemon. I currently have over a 100 and beginning to evolve them in my spare time, as well as breed for potential trades with mates down the track.
So what's happening in your Pokeworlds PalGN? Anymore Shinies? _________________

I dipped my toes into Black a little bit, I'm still playing Pearl, but it's ridiculous how much faster the battles are. I had to stop playing otherwise I would never be able to go back and finish Pearl.

I finished White with a pretty fun team, Vanilluxe, Samurott, Golurk, Excavelier, Accelgor and Eelektross. And today, my Black version should be delivered, along with my 3DS (Squee!) so I can finally finish the pokedex, I've been exactly like Big Pete, surprisingly and out of character-ly obsessed with finishing the pokedex! I've only got the black exclusives and 2 trade evolutions left to do!!! Then I'm thinking I'll head back to play Emerald, Firered and Soulsilver and Platinum and I'll finish the pokede 100%... I've got a big task ahead of me!
EDIT: On the subject of Tornadus and Thundurus, I found Thundurus (and I assume tornadus will be the same) ridiculously easy to catch entirely due to the storm effect on the route where they are (no more checking the pokedex!) so I would just go to like, a northern route in the afternoon, and just keep entering the information desk place and the route over and over until it was stormy, then i'd damage the legendary, then it'd run, wash rinse repeat! it took me less than 10 minutes. It was AWESOME! _________________

I stopped playing after I completed the region dex. I would have played through again, but I have nowhere to store my pokes. There are so many good gen 5 pokes I wanted to try out, but you can only carry 6...

I am proud to say that...
I still haven't finished the game yet.
My Heartgold version has accumulated around 280 hours of gameplay, that I played throughout years 11 and 12, in an attempt to complete my pokedex.
However, I am yet to finish black. This is due to my HSC last year, uni starting this year, and the amount of PS3 gaming I have been doing.
Who else got the game on release day but has yet to finish it? _________________ I have no signature

I got it straight away... only played an hour up until the last few days I've put in another hour, thought about starting again as I no longer like Tepig, but I'll stick it out.
This is going to take me a long time. _________________

Yep, I bought the game just after it was released, got up to the Elite 4 pretty quickly. Then I got stuck trying to beat them, I just couldn't do it. Fast forward to today, and I haven't played the game since. _________________

@Cro - What's wrong with Tepig? I played White with Tepig and Black with Oshawott. Emboar was far more interesting and useful than Samurott. But then my dislike of Samurott could also be because I really love Jellicent, so he was the only water type I wanted.
Anyway.. After transferring all my pokemon over from Platinum, I'm pretty close to finishing the Pokedex. A few more evolutions and event pokemon and I'll be done. Too bad I'm so lazy and can't be bothered.
As for you folk who are stuck on the Elite 4, get yourself a Hydreigon. XD

I don't like the look of him now, but I should be evolving him at lunch anyway.
Water Pokemon are my favourite and I didn't like Oshawott, so maybe it's not such a bad thing.
Is keeping the grass type monkey the dude gives you before the first gym recommended? _________________

No, he's really weak and isn't useful at all.
You'll come across better grass pokemon. _________________

I had a feeling this would be the case.
I'm only just leaving Striation City now, but so far nothing but normal Pokemon in the wild. I do not want one!! I've had to use a Lillipup and the Ape thing to get by, but will be putting them on the PC soon. I hope. _________________

Hmmm...around now you'll have access to electric, flying, psychic, ground and fighting pokemon. Aside from one or two monsters (the second being you'll need to trade evolve to be any use) they're not really worth sticking with.
By about the third town a few decent pokemon emerge. _________________
