Well after much internal struggle and debate I've decided to kill as many braincells as possible by picking up a good RPG and trying to finish it in one long sitting. I expect to imbibe roughly my own body weight in snacks, soft drink and energy drinks before I'm through and have a swift heart attack at the end (hopefully after the ending cut scene). I'll also have it running on livestream if anyone feels like dropping by and watching me slowly go mad. (The link for that will come later, once Ive figured out how to view the chat screen in game). Now to the crux of the matter though! I've been wracking my brain and I can't for the life of my figure out which game I want to play!
So here's the real question ladies and gents, can you help me pick an RPG to drown my weekend in? I know there's a large panel of experts around here, I hope to dip into your collective knowledge
(oh yeah I should probably add a small list of games I've already considered and discarded - Fallout 3/New Vegas, Mass Effect 1 & 2, Dragon Age 2, Any Final Fantasy (I'd die in the process) or any of the Ultima games)
Thanks! _________________

No Final Fantasy? You sure? ;P One day I watched a man attempt to beat FFVII in 24 hours, he kept on getting game overs, but got up to the last boss, but couldn't beat him before time was up, he was raging!
Anyways, what consoles do you have to choose RPGS from? Just the 360? _________________

if you have pc, try the witcher 2. just picked it up and an hour in and ive still got an erection!! if limited to consoles, cant really recommended too much, maybe fable 3, but youd probably need all 3 fables to make it a full weekend

I would have voted for Fallout: New Vegas, hardcore, hard, being a pacifist but since you already discarded that I'll suggest: Ultima IV, Ultima Underworld, any of the original Fallouts, Dragon Age 1 _________________

He said no Ultima games either grim-one . Umm I can't think of any awesome ones I played that you could beat it one sitting, Persona 3 and 4 took me like 60 - 80 hours each so that would be suicide.
Maybe both the Paper Marios or Tales of Symphonia or something? _________________

Hahaha, yeah I'm pretty sure, I want /some/ chance of surviving this
Uh, PC, PS2 and PS1, I do have a 360 but i can't stream that cause i don't have a capture card (yet).

I have been umming and ahhing about that one, I didn't really like the witcher 1 though so I'm a bit iffy on it. and Sorry I must have misspoke up there, not just consoles, PC as well .

Fallout new Vegas would have been good but i finished it about 4 times then sold my copy unfortunately, so playing it again would just bore me. Dragon age 1 could be good, i only ever did that one once as a good knight. hmmm _________________

Maybe have a look through the gog.com RPG catalogue? They're all pretty cheap and good fun.
Arcanum, Baldur's Gate, Gothic, Might and Magic, Neverwinter, Planescape, Stonekeep and Vampire the Masquerade are all brilliant. Not sure if you've played them before, but it'd be more fun if you haven't right? _________________

I don't get why you would want to do this. Don't you get mental fatigue after a while? I can't even play most games for more than a couple of hours before wanting to do something else. and wont you sleep?
I just don't get the appeal of this plan. o_O _________________

I know it can be done, but why would you want to?
The most I ever did was play Mass Effect 2 for 12 hours mostly because the game was totally amazing to me, and after i'd finished that game a few days later, I didnt want to play anything for weeks. xD
Oh well different strokes. _________________

I can't stand this, usually. The only game I've beaten in one sitting was ratchet and clank: a crack in time, but I was both sick and trophy hunting. Good luck dude.

Stonekeep is one of my favourite games. It hasn't aged well, but it is a fantastic grid dungeon crawler.

It's mostly cause I can I want to see if i can pull it off and still be alive at the end. The only trouble is if I pick a game I don't enjoy it'll turn the entire thing into 20 or more hours of torture >.>

Dungeon crawlers/action rpg's in particular are of interest to me, I've been looking rather closely at my copy of diablo 2 and wondering if finishing all 3 difficulties would count _________________

Diablo 2 - all 3 difficulties - in one sitting? Man I don't envy you trying to get through that last one! _________________

Oh man i was considering one of the persona games for a long time (They're all so good!) but then i looked at my current playthrough of 4, 60 hours in and nowhere near the end, I'm not sure my mind would survive one of those games >.> _________________

Testing yourself is cool. I once did 300 sit-ups just to see if I could pull it off It was painful but I did it.
Though with games these days I doubt I could do this. I was gonna beat DKC2 102% in one sitting but I got bored after 3 worlds. _________________ Welcome to the internet. Where any joke can turn into WWIII.

I had never even heard of eithe of them until you mentioned them they look interesting (particularly the rebuilding aspect, I love that sorta stuff) It does look like the sort of game where i'd get distracted trying to completely rebuild everything though which could prove my undoing _________________

If you have access to it, I recommend Zelda - Link to the Past. It might be a bit short though. Majora's Mask or Ocarina of Time will take a bit longer.
If you're not a Zelda fan, i dunno. What consoles so you have? Nier is pretty short if you ignore the sidequests. Vagrant Story is short too. Might be easier to suggest a game if limited to specific consoles/formats. _________________

Do this... on Hardcore. That will drastically improve your e-peen.

I'm not sure my e-peen could be comfortably contained in my house if i actually managed all 3 difficulties on hardcore >.> Also I'd have to be awake for 2 weeks straight regular mode though...that's definitely on the short list. _________________
