My current phone is a Nokia N900.
I got it because it wasn't an Apple and you can freely modify it if you know how because it runs Maemo.
The main sellpoint was because it has a QWERTY keyboard and still a touchscreen. And man the keyboard buttons feel good to touch, it's a pleasure to write messages.
I didn't and still don't like the idea of not being able to clearly see what you're typing with an onscreen keyboard.
Android was still quite unknown to me at the time and if I knew what I know now back then... I might of had a different phone.
I could slap a port of Android on my N900 but at the moment most of the main functions (phone, camera, wi-fi) are still unusable.
But I mainly wanted a Nokia because it's what I've always used.
EDIT: Oh yeah, I only ended up changing phones because my N95's motherboard f**ked up and made the screen not work. (at the end of it's use if I had a message I had to plug my phone into my TV and use the TV as the phone's screen ) _________________

Nokia N97. Because it's not an iPhone. Though, it's not that great of a phone.
If/when I lose/break it I'm just going to buy some $20 phone.

I've got the Nokia N8, I originally got it for the advanced camera which I use my phone as my camera as well.
I've since regretted it because their music software (the OTHER reason I have a high end phone) has been ballsed up completely compared to their previous phones. I should get around to grabbing a third party media player for it but I haven't yet.
It's not a terrible phone though, and it handles multi tasking really well, I can have Opera open with upwards of 10 tabs, music player, Mobbler, Nokia Drop, Screencapture (these three I have open all the time), and load up a game/call easily without it freaking out on me.

One that makes calls, sends messages. That's it. Come to think of it $10 credit has lasted me 12 months. I basically have it in case the car breaks down. People who know me, know that I,
A. Will not answer it
B. Not listen to voicemail
C. Not call you back _________________ I'd be apathetic, but I can't be arsed.

I have a Samsung Galaxy S2. I got it because of the android OS, customisation and the fact that it wasn't an iPhone.
I'm extremely happy with the phone, all it's capabilities etc. I'm just trying to adjust to lower battery life coming from using a Blackberry Bold 9700 which would last me 3 days+ with heavy usage.
Full HD recording is brilliant, the camera is decent, expandable memory is a Godsend (I have a 32gb micro SD card in it right now and another 32gb as a back up). I just love all the things Android allows you to do without needing to jailbreak it. The only reason I'd ever consider installing a mod rom on mine is to rid myself of all the annoying Optus bloatware. _________________

I've got an iPhone, out of choice too. But at the time it was either this or the Galaxy S. iPhone4 came out first for Vodafone, so went on this.

iPhone 4.
Not for any real reason that I didn't know much about Android phones when I got it. I would conisder an Android phone now for sure though.
Though I don't know why people have to be so emo and against the grain because other people have iPhones. iPhones aren't a bad phone, not the greatest but better than a lot of others. _________________

Yeah, my main reason for going Android over iPhone is because I'm a big user of all things Google so it made more sense. And also because I don't have a Mac to sync with. Thinking about getting an iPad in future for some of the games/apps though. _________________

I have a Mac (got it through Uni for cheap) and never sync it to the computer. There is really not all that much to sync that you can't do on a PC. But they make you think that you are, good marketing that is.
I'm a Google **** as well, I think they are much friendlier than Mac, it's just the games market isn't quite as big yet.
Saying that though, there are probably less useless apps on the Android store though. People on the iTunes are milking apps for what they are worth, half of them don't even do anything. _________________

I succumbed to the peer pressure of buying an iPhone about a year ago and to be honest I wish I had a different phone. I never use any of the pointless gimmicky apps that are available for it, I just use it for calling, texting, and using the camera. So I should have got something cheaper. Plus, touch screens annoy me, I find them difficult to use and innaccurate, and its not like I have big fingers or anything. I wish I had a phone with real buttons. _________________

I've had my Nexus S for about 3 months and I'm loving it so far. I was tossing up between the Desire HD and the Nexus S for a while but eventually went with the Nexus because of the better battery life and the lack of preinstalled Vodafone bloatware. There's no way I could have gone with the iPhone now that it comes with a full glass front AND back... that just wouldn't end well with my track record. _________________

iPhone4 here at launch, had a brick phone before it, and I was totally oblivious to android phones at the time and will be looking for an android once this contract is up as they're more powerful now. Just didn't think they were worth looking at because they were too young at the time.
Don't really use the iphone for much other than some aawesome golf applications which give me distances to hole and keeps my putting/tee shot stats etc.

iPhone 4. Can't understand the idea behind not having an iPhone because they are popular. They are popular for a reason after all.
Got an iPhone 3 and when my contract was up it was really a no brainer.
Aside from the fact that my old 3G was becoming increasingly slow in it's old age, there wasn't really anything I was unhappy with as far as the idea of the iPhones goes. It does everything I need it to and more.
As the old saying goes, if it ain't broke, why fix it, nah'mean? _________________

HTC Desire S here, loving it, got it because I actually think that for me personally it's better than an iPhone, not because iPhone is popular and I don't think it's necessarily a worse phone for everyone.
On the topic of games for android, the libary isn't as big as the iPhones yet, but there are still quite a few quality games. Also unlike iPhone you can easily install emulators, so if you count every game released on almost every major console up to and including N64 and PSX then it has truckloads more games _________________

I've got an iPhone 4. I needed to replace my old phone which I had for about 6 years and I don't know much about android phones either. I was after a reliable phone that makes life easier for me and it has served its purpose so far. Maybe when I'm out of contract I'll debate between upgrading to the new iPhone or an android, I might even just keep the current phone for a while. _________________

because Apple are masters of marketing, and creating a cult of desireability, alongside a culture of limited stock, and built in obsolescence through incremental improvements?
i've got some old chunky nokia at the moment, and am looking for my next phone at the moment.
i actually have nothing against the iPhones, and have been seriously considering getting one. tossing up between a number of options right now. _________________
