There's no topic for this awesome game yet? What is this madness? It's out in less than 2 weeks!

This is probably my most anticipated game of 2011. It looks like it could be the best action game since Resident Evil 4 and Suda 51 is one of the most interesting developers getting around today. Anyone else excited for it?

Quote:
Venture deep into a hyper-demented re-imagining of hell as demon hunter Garcia Hotspur on a mission to rescue the love of his life. Defeat the armies of darkness with the power of the light and the help of the trusty Johnson, a former demon with the ability to transform into an array of vicious weapons. Shadows of the Damned delivers shocking and unique gameplay experiences that include over-the-top action, grandiose boss battles, demented puzzles, grotesque enemies, heart-pounding moments and psychotic imagery. Brace yourself for one hell of a trip to the City of the Damned.

I made a topic months and months ago, maybe even a year ago, but PALGN didnt want none of that due to bad taste.

I will be getting it Day 1 and it is currently my most hyped game of the year. Nothing comes close, except maybe Zelda.

Having played the first chapter and having met Suda, I'm considering taking a day off after getting this just to play through. It's pretty good.

I'm super excited for this one too. It's really slipped under the radar, I've read nothing about it. Saw some gameplay videos on youtube, and it looks EPIC!

Let's not forget the other half of this team: videogame action director extraordinaire Shinji Mikami. He'll be there to make sure the action is well paced and tense.

Been dying for another collaboartion of these two since Killer 7. Can't Wait.

I am very wary about this, but damn it has some pedigree behind it.

If it has the demented aesthetic and narrative elements of Suda' best work and the mechanical polish and creativity of Mikami's, then I'm definitely up for it.

Based on the footage I've seen it looks like a slightly mental Resident Evil 4. I hope it is more than that.

Where's everyone getting this from, any retailers advertising it yet?

Thinking it'll only be like Resident Evil 4 sounds like a pretty dumb reason to be wary. It doesn't have to be the greatest game of all time, in fact I can tell you right now it wont be, but it'll still be fucking awesome!

I'll be getting mine from JBs this week using their "trade 3, get 1 free". Couldn't afford it otherwise icon_razz.gif

Going for the PS3 version as their 360 exclusion list is too comprehensive. Hopefully as I've pre-ordered I'll be getting the poster and soundtrack DLC, but not too fussed if I miss out.

The reason that i am wary is that aesthetic aside, I don't much appreciate the gameplay of Grasshopper Manufacture's titles. i said "it looks" like Resident Evil 4 - if it is even half as good as RE4 I will be happily surprised.

Not just word on the street, but an email from Dungeon Crawl direct to my inbox! Here's hoping. I'm still not sure if I am game to take the plunge!

Fair point, No More Heroes doesn't have the deepest battle system around. Damn satisfying though.

Guys at work got copies a couple days back - at which point I rememberd that I hadn't ordered it, so now I play the waiting game =(

Still, from what I've been hearing from those what have it, it's pretty fucking rad. I'm well keen to blast some demons with a constant natrrative of dick jokes icon_biggrin.gif

Goodbye God of War, LittleBigPlanet & Eternal Sonata. Hello Big Boner!

Guess I didn't order early enough to get the soundtrack DLC or the poster though.

It's been a blast so far. I've only just beaten the 1st boss, but having a ball. It's Res Evil 5 controls, with cool Suda 51 style and humour. I thought Johnson would be really annoying, but he's pretty amusing most of the time. Hotspur is turning out to be a good Spanish-language tutor (for swear words... at least I assume they're swear words). Anyway, gotta get back to it. Just stopped for a drink and to say the game is cool.

The only disappointing thing so far is the manual. Black and white and just over 10 pages (a few of which are warranty and setup). Nothing about characters or story.

My copy was posted yesterday, hopefully will be playing it in a week.

It's EA's new "green" policy when it comes to manuals. Basically they've put it on a disc to be more green but that didn't mean they lowered the price of the game icon_rolleyes.gif. Alice came with no manual except this folded piece of paper telling you to it doesn't come with a manual.
