I "finished" LA Noire as in sold it to a mate. Didn't get past Homicide. I have never seen a game so focused on story tell such a crappy story. Where is the likable characters? Phelps was a one dimensional goody touch shoes, Gallaway was just a horrible person that was a crappy cop and those who the only two characters developed 8 hours into the game!? Also this game does not care if you pass or fail so the actual mechanics are pretty much meaningless unless your the kind of person who needs to get 100%. Plot wise it is awful as there was little narrative besides the actual cases which vary in quality from case to case and are pretty repetitive. The frequent flashbacks to the war was like the developers saying something important happened here but we won't tell you till the end. Shooting was Rockstar quality (bad) but without the creativity that past Rockstar games had to just muck around. Foot chases were just awful. Just point forward and hold a button. Seriously I know you don't want anyone to fail but having a button that does everything for you make it feel as exciting as if the chase was on a straight line. It's a weird game as I just got the feeling they just wanted to make a movie but the actual story, characters and cases weren't that interesting.

I finished the story portion of Assassins Creed Brotherhood. I'm glad that Revelations is just round the corner after that ending.
Usually I just go onto a new game, but I like the gameplay so I'm gonna get the DLC and finish the side missions and collectables as well. _________________ GT: chunged

Finally finished Tactics Ogre on PSP
Really really liked it. Was not enjoying it a lot in the first couple of hours probably because I was overwhelmed by everything the game offered. As a result of trying to keep the gameplay in check I kinda stopped paying attention to the story, being the convoluted mass it is. In the end when I had the gameplay mastered I paid attention to the story again and it actually is quite interesting.
Once I understood everything though the sheer depth and customization options really made it fun. So many classes, skills and weapons to choose from. A good amount of thinking and planning goes into the harder battles and you really feel a sense of acheivement when you win a particularly hard battle. The three deaths and you're gone mechanic for all characters really ensures that you don't just ge hell for leather with all out attack. It forces you to have incorparate some tactics and management of your units beyond just sending you strongest guys to kill the enemies one by one. If you take that route sooner or later all your best units will all die and you'll have to spend time recruiting and levelling guys to take their place.
Which leads me onto another thing, the crafting system. Crafting is one of those things I have a love/hate relationship with. Sometimes I can absolutely adore crafting and I'll sit there for ages going through all the different combinations of things I can make but other times I just want the ****ing weapon and don't want to go to that effort. In that regard the crafting in this was nice and rewarding but did sometimes err on the side of frustration. To make the 'upgraded' weapons near the end of the game you'll need to go through 3-4 levels of crafting, most which require 3 items per level. Add to that the failure rate of some of those stronger weapons is nearly 50% and you can spend 15+ mins making a single weapon only to see it dissapear in a puff of smoke. Still overall I quite liked it.
Great game to just lose yourself in for a little while. _________________

Finally got around to finishing Castlevania: Lords of Shadow on PS3 just then. God-tier game. Can't believe it took me this long to get around to buying it.
Strange game but I loved it all. _________________

Gemini Rue - PC
This was such an amazing game, cyberpunk and adventuring at its best. If this was released during the 90's this game would have been completely and utterly massive. Everyone owes it to themselves to try this out, its get elements from all the best pieces of cyberpunk all strung together with an interesting and fairly deep story. The voice acting, the music, the graphical styling, I can honestly not find a fault in this little gem. It is on par with the likes of Monkey Island, Broken Sword and Beneath a Steel Sky.
HIGHLY SUGGESTED GAME.

I finished Super Mario Land! I had the game many many years ago (at least twelve year ago if not fifteen) and playing it again gave me HUGE nostalgia pangs. I can't remember if I beat it back in the day, I know I got to the last world but I don't know if I beat the boss. Anyway, good times _________________

Mafia 2 main storyline. 17 hours (ish) for $30. Guess I got my monies worth then, but serioulsy 12 of that was proberbly driving to missons. The shoot-outs were fun though. Missed not being able to ride the trains (as you could in the original) - Think godfather on wii was the better game (wiimote strangling for the win) _________________

Finished inFamous 2 just now. with the 'good' karmic choices.
Very fun game. Some of the powers you get towards the end of the game make moving around more fun. I feel some of the power's controls could have been a little better. You can swap between them pretty quickly by pressing Left on the D-pad, but there are some where you can just press R2 and they activate, while others that are assigned to the R2 button require you to be holding the L1 button to aim them first. Would have been good if you could have one assigned to just R2 and then the L1+R2.
The 'comic book' cut scenes didn't look as good this time around. I suspect that they weren't drawn, but CG. Still, they helped to tell the story well enough.
The Karmic Choices this time around were a bit more straight forward, and i didn't have any sort of conflict between choosing them. I remember in the first game having to stop and think a couple of times. This time there was no question at all. And really, i didn't feel like there was any impact until the last decision.
I'll be curious to hear how people who imported there Evil Karma game from inFamous played. There are some points in the game that reference your actions from the first, and since it imports based on trophy data, these scenes might play out differently. a nice touch, and since basically every Karmic decision carried some sort of Trophy to it, it seems possible.
Not sure if i'll go back right away for the evil play through. Might be all zapped out. _________________

I've had a productive weekend!
Firstly, I was able to finish my second playthrough of The Witcher 2 (PC). No words will do this game justice; it is truly a masterpiece and a shining example of the type of game that defines a genre, a decade, a system. The amount of love and devotion poured into this game is that dedicated to a life's dream. Just beautiful.
Having completed The Witcher 2, I moved onto L.A. Noire (PS3). It's not quick what I expected; GTA 4 mixed with some classic adventure, almost like your old school point and click. An interesting plot that unfortunately sometimes stumbles along the way but manages to get the job done. The shooting mechanics are somewhat rudimentary and gave me some grief but nothing major. Another annoyance was the obsession pedestrians had; jumping directly into the path of my police car with sirens wailing (and subsequently ruining my case score). But by far was how the interrogations/interviews were played out; far too often I would think I had the perfect piece of evidence, I would accuse the subject linking the evidence to the line of inquiry only for the protagonist to come out guns blazing at a completely different, and incorrect, angle. What the game needed was a preview of what will be said for each interview option; it would eliminate such red herrings and help the player get into the head of the protagonist. It's not game breaking but still annoying. That all said, it's a fun game and worthy of your time.
So with those done, I think it's time I can finally get into MvC2 (a bit late for that party), Mortal Kombat and maybe even Rift!

I'll never finish NBA 2K11 well at least not officially - my own fault for collecting it on ps3, 360 and pc . I have different things going on in the different versions (eg: pc i mostly use for My Player, 360 - association/season, ps3 was more to play online with).
I'll most likely keep plugging away at the pc version for months to come (a few games a week hopefully), will have to wait and see what 2K12 brings to the table, it would be awesome if they still had the rights to put Jordan in the game again.

That is true and i better take a break from it ENTIRELY at some stage, but 2-3 games a week has been the norm for me for a few months now, in the first few months i played it for hours and hours - it was my main game i focused on.
I've had "game" fatigue with other sports games in the past, playing the current version up until the release date of the next version is not the best idea.... i have stopped playing the new release version earlier than expected.
In rare cases, my fatigue extends through the following year, so i'll skip an installment entirely, then purchase the installment after it.

Just finished Child of Eden.
What can I say? It's spectacular. The second level is on par with Fear from Rez. Yes, it's that good.

Last night I finished Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker for the PSP.
Overall it was a very good PSP game that captured the MGS gameplay quite well. I beat the story to completion, no way am I doing all the extra ops.
The chapter 4 ending I really liked, but the "true" ending wasn't very MGS-like at all.....In fact I was a bit disappointed.
Nevertheless, it was good, beaten and I look forward to replaying it in HD sometime in the future.
Now it's time to replay the rest of the MGS series. _________________

I've just 100%ed Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 2 on the iPhone with every character (besides officer carrerra as I'll be damned if I go for all the gaps again). Such a classic game and continues to hold up well today. I'd love a Tony hawk legacy game on the current consoles that took the best of thps 1-4 and used thps4s control scheme. _________________

I think it was Underground that had the classic levels from the Pro Skater series that you could play, most likely the closest thing you will get, the Hawk series is nothing but a gimmick now, and a bad one at that.

THUG2 had classic mode as well as the standrad mode from the time I reckon.
I know that Proving Ground had both modes.Even as someone who likes THPS1-Project 8, PG is where the TH series started sucking for me.
THUG and Project 8 are my favourite of the non THPS TH games. _________________ Welcome to the internet. Where any joke can turn into WWIII.

I played through everything including proving grounds, but number 4 was the sweet spot for me, great variety between levels, cool pro specific challenges and an inability to get off the board made it the best in the series for me. _________________

Devil May Cry 4 on PC!
What I liked:
The stunning beautiful visuals combined with the really well-made and stylish cutscenes that I couldn't help but go a bit crazy with Steam's screenshot feature with . I always couldnt wait for the next cutscene just to see what ridiculous but beautiful thing would happen next . There's something about choreography like that that makes me feel like every scene is almost like a dance of sorts. & Kyrie is soo pretty ♥
General stuff; the game flows quite well and kept me entertained even though I just mashed buttons mostly, it was quite fun, don't know what else to say about that. ;x
What I didnt:
The fact that a good chunk of the game is spent going through all the levels you've just been through in reverse order. The Camera and movement controls could be a lot better. The platforming segments particularly that one in the "torture chamber" area that you have to repeat 3 times and is also the worst. The Japaneseness of everything (sorry). I liked Dante more than Nero and he had more variety in fighting, but most of the game is spent with Nero. Convoluted story. That one repeated loop of annoying metal music every single fight.

I don't mean Classic Mode, I mean there were unlockable items around that would unlock levels from the past games, updated with that game engine graphics.
Project 8 was a really solid game (It was far better on the Xbox than the 360, both of which I have finished and the original Xbox just plays better).
Today I finished GTA Vice City on PC.
I had played the game on the PS2 when it came out, but like most sandbox games, I got bored after awhile and just stopped playing I picked up both III and Vice City on the PS2 for like $2 a couple years ago, telling myself this time I would play through them, well that all fell through when I realized the PS2 version (and another Xbox version of VC)of both games doesnt allot you to control camera in third person view, you had to rely on the games lock on feature, which I find frustrating so I stopped playing, telling myself I will pick up the PC versions if I ever see them on the cheap, but I wouldnt go out of my way.
A few weeks ago I found Vice city on the PC and finished it this morning, while I did enjoy the games main story missions and the voice acting is great, the fact that towards the end of the game, or at least the end by the main story, you have to go around doing pointless and unrelated missions just annoys me, I really had to push through being bored without a story to carry the game. What I dislike about sandbox games in general, they dont hold the main story well enough, Red Dead was the first one I felt really pulled it off well.
Overall the PC version plays far better than the PS2 and Xbox counterparts, for the fact you can control easily, if the game was just story missions, I would have utterly loved it, the side missions you have to do in order to play the final missions wore my opinion of the game down.

Finished Bulletstorm. Very fun and a surprisingly beautiful game, too.
I think the "funny" aspect of it has been over-stated a bit, but you barely notice the story and dialogue when you're sliding into freaks and impaling them on cacti anyway.
