EB Games estimated it will be AU$348 here
Also, it appears to be wifi only, which imo sounds about right since I highly doubt our mobile infrastructure can handle it and for America, didn't they made a deal with AT&T? I assume the will release 3g only if they struck a deal. _________________ "Work hard now, play even harder later"

Yeah I heard it's AT&T exclusive in the US. But then mobile plans and devices are always tied to networks over in the US, it's how they do business and subsidize the cost.
I don't get why you think our mobile infrastructure couldn't handle it though. 3G devices work pretty much world-wide. EB probably just won't sell the 3G version because Sony will want it to be provided with a SIM card and plan. _________________

Yea it will be $350. I'm sure it will match 3DS prices exactly in regions that weren't announced at E3.

Vita may get a 'core' Bioshock game - and Levine isn't talking about a port or lame spinoff. Sigh... I didn't really want to buy another handheld, but too many awesome games are lining up for this one. _________________

Yeah, if the Vita really is region free, I'm going to have to lean towards liking it more than the 3DS at this point! There's very few things that I dislike more than region locked consoles. _________________

I'm not sure how they get to that price considering the US pricing and the current Australian $.

I'm just going to buy a 3DS and a Vita. Both are pretty amazing if you ask me. _________________

True, and you really can't go wrong with that plan. _________________

Luxury Tax, Import Tax, Standard "Australian" retail markup etc
Or some other reason they choose to use. _________________

Lies, all lies. Going by the rumoured specs, the Cafe will blow away the PS3/360, and be beaten somewhat by 720/PS4 (yet still be comparable). If they were of similar power, Ubisoft would not have made the statement that they did yesterday (that they are very far into development of BG&E2, yet the current gen of consoles cannot run it).
Although you do make a fair point about the value. It's just so much more powerful than the 3DS, and the same price too.
And there seems to be interesting games for it (I hope that Vanillaware thing isn't exclusive!)
It'll be interesting to see how this gen pans out. |
Cant really call lies when you yourself even said "rumoured specs". It better outperfrom the 360/ps3 otherwise it will be a Wii 1.5 _________________

I remember seeing some rumour specs Smurf, and from what I recall, it didn't look any better than either of the two.

So I just placed my order at Amazon US. Priority international shipping (2-5 days), PS Vita (WiFi only version): $259 Australian. _________________

It's already been confirmed by two developers to be stronger than the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3. By how much though remains to be seen. _________________

Not on hand, but I can find them for you later. One was from a Darksiders II developer, the other from a Battlefield 3 designer. The former implied that the system would make for 'the best version' or something due to the system being stronger, while the latter flat out said the Wii U was stronger than both the 360 and PS3.
To be fair, the Battlefield 3 developer was also pretty cynical about the device, and said he wanted more power, and questioned how it would hold up against the PS4/XboxWhatever. But, he also thought the Zelda demo wasn't in-game, so he might not know as much as he thinks he does. _________________

MAKE UP YOUR BLOODY MIND.
@jarrod/cyph. The wii U specs aren't even locked right now. Look as good 6 years down the line?umm okay. wii all over again.
and then you have ID software saying they have serious doubts about wii U for these very reasons. Wii U is going to be wii 2.0 6 months down the line....
