Was tempted to pick up the Hero Edition today at JB HiFi (Bourke St), but due to a very full bag (Raided 5-6 7-11s today ) I couldn't, but if it's still there tomorrow, I'll probably pick it up _________________

Tiny things have been tweaked here and there which I really enjoy, such as the ability to switch back to older powers even after you've upgraded. Its a very polished game and its definitely on par with the original game. |
How large would you say the sling-bag/backpack is? i'm curious as to i'm hoping that my copy of the Hero edition will arrive in time(JB Online, hope it'll arrive within the week...) for me to take on my holiday as i would like to use that instead of my usual backpack(which is much larger than i know i'll need).

I've been playing my copy all night, it's great! It feels like a more polished version of the first game, with some very welcome tweaks and improvements. The faster movement, ability to switch powers on the fly, and attention to detail all work to make this even better than the original! It's hard to stop playing, there's lots to do. I've just gotta get one more Blast Shard, whoa, there's a Dead Drop! Fun. _________________

Folken with the Hero edition: What's the bag like? Okay quality? Size? If it's any good I'd be willing to buy one from somebody... looked kind of cool, and I need a should bag thingy that isn't falling apart. _________________

Ok then, since a few people have asked i'll put up some photos of the Hero edition and its contents. I feel that the bag is excellent quality, SuckerPunch haven't screwed people over by giving them only a really tiny bag or anything, it does seem to be "lifesize" to the one Cole has in the game. Its a great size having access to two different pockets which each are the size of the entire bag. Ill probably end up using this as my normal bag. I really liked the Hero edition and as a massive Infamous fan it was definitely worth it.
So this is everything you get in the Hero edition:
The Bag
Special edition copy of the game (with a very awesome lenticular cover which switches between good and bad cole)
Figurine
Comic book
and Three different codes (one for the special edition contents, one for the hero edition contents and one give you 50% off the original infamous if you purchase it through the PSN)
This is just a photo of me showing the bags size, in comparison im about 170cm-ish
Just some close up images of the figurine, its very awesome, a lot of detail and goes nicely with all my other gaming gear. _________________

Is there any chance of changing the thread title? They changed Cole's design back to the way it was. _________________

Got mine today. Pretty good service by JBhifi online. Cole is now sitting up on my shelf, and looks like i'm going to be at war with my family over the bag.
Cool thing with this is, The Hero Edition DLC code contains all the DLC in the special edition. And since they've just put the special edition on the box, you get double of some DLC (Golden Amp, inFamous Cole skin, and some Electric Grenades skill). Anyone who's gotten the vanilla edition want the DLC? _________________

BurnZ, I love you.
Also I got my promo copy today. Though my PS3 is dead, I stole the PS3 slim from the living room and should be able to play, oooorah. Last I played it I dug it quite a lot. Also the devs were pretty cool too. _________________

Really digging the game so far. Some of the little touches, like the country map on the pause screen and the constant reminders of how far away the big confrontation is is helping to create a sense of urgency to get things done.
I've just unlocked the second 'island', and i'm a bit surprised by the number of abilities i've already unlocked. and i was already at full 'hero' karma status before getting here. I'm kind of waiting for something to happen to change that status. Its been far too easy. Though my imported save might have had something to do with that.
One thing i am dissapointed with though, is you don't seem to 'recharge' when grinding anymore. I can't see an upgrade that would match that. _________________

Finished it today, good karmic run.
Good game, nothing super wrong with it. Pretty decent story but it felt disjointed and uninteresting in a few sections, particularly because karmic decisions aren't as clear cut and can borderline stupid. First game did some things better, but this one improves in a lot of other areas.
Still liked it though, was fun. More thoughts in review. _________________

^ i though more or less the same thing.
The karmic choices in the first game were pretty good. Sure alot of the time they left you on the same path, but the events always felt natural.
For the most part, i'd say the first game did the story better, but the second game has the better gameplay.
I'm curios how they'll approach the next game (hate that the games just come out and i'm thinking about a sequel), considering how different the two endings are. the first game more or less had one ending and you were either a saint or an asshat. _________________

Well, I just got my platinum. I actually really enjoyed the game, although as others have said, the story wasn't as good.
Trying to get the trophies for the UGC missions was a pain. Some of them didn't exactly explain where you were going. I had to abandon a lot of them because I just couldn't work them out. In the end I tried playing the ones that said 'easy exp' because I knew it would be killing something easy and the mission would be over. I did find one or two that were actually good though.
I uploaded my own mission for the fun of it too, although you can't really call it a mission. The total time is about 15 seconds, 'cause nothing much happens. XD I'll definitely be giving it a proper go later on.

I'm going for the Platinum at the moment, I only have the UGC missions to go (aside from finishing my evil playthrough). It's hard to keep count of how many missions I've completed when the game keeps freezing though - it's frozen twice on me tonight while I've been in the middle of a mission. I'm not sure how often the game makes an autosave. _________________

I'm pretty sure it saves after every mission complete/death/pickup, doesn't it?

I'm not sure since there's no saving icon. Anyway, it seems to save pretty often in any case, so that's good. With a bit of perseverance, I managed to get all of the UGC trophies last night. Now all I have to do is finish my Evil playthrough and the Platinum is mine! That's definitely a nice thought after the first game, where I didn't quite manage it. _________________
