Wind Waker and Twilight Princess looked better than that... what's your point? _________________

Wind waker is hardly compareable. Completly different style. I'd argue that that screen looks better than twilight princess. _________________

Visually, it has more oompth. Artistically, nope.
But it is just a tech vid. Processing a 10 second clip vs a full engrossing game. It's never going to be as good as tech demos, just like every other engine developers show off. _________________

Though they could change between day and night, and the camera angle at will, so maybe that gives it more credibility as to what the graphics will actually look like? :s

It's really not that impressive on a technical level. It's just that a) Nintendo's artists are amazing, and b) its the first Zelda anything to be shown on that level of hardware. Otherwise it's jaggy, the poly count is so-so, textures are eh, and there's nothing overly impressive about the lighting.
But, on the plus side, it was running in real time on early hardware and probably rushed. I have confidence that not only will that kind of IQ be playable on the Wii U, but easily surpassed. Zelda Wii U will look even better.
EDIT: Here's some off screen footage of the demo.

The video actually looks HEAPS better than the screenshot. Like, it's day and night (pun not intended) the difference.
Also, if that animation is in the game, that'll be awesome, that spider moved really nicely.

I'm wondering how far Zelda HD is in development, cause I noticed in the demo that Link had 7 hearts, which means he would of had to be atleast 4 dungeons in.
So the game could be well into development and not be far off release after the Wii U launches. _________________

It isn't being developed at all yet. They said this is what twilight princess would have looked like if it had been designed for the Wii U, it's reusing old assets from Twilight Princess (Obviously touched up etc)
This is purely a proof of concept. _________________

Am I the only one that read the writing above the screenshot in the article?
Don't worry Jarrod, some of us read what you write

Cause it's a different console with a different art style? Honestly I prefer the look of skyward sword. _________________

As far as I'm aware it's just Wii? I could be wrong though? _________________

Obvious answer is because the Wii doesn't hold a candle to the Wii U's graphical processing.
Not so obvious but legitimate answer is because Eiji Aonuma felt limited with Twilight Princess. He felt that because of the realistic art direction and proportion restrictions they deliberately held back on making anything too outlandish. Because Skyward Sword has motion controls and movement integral to the experience, they wanted to express both your movements and the enemies through more animated, exaggerated means. They chose a new visual direction to accompany the more unrealistic proportions and movements. _________________

Demonstrates the graphical capability of the controller quite nicely.
Wouldn't surprise if Nintendo does recycle TP on Wii U (they pretty much do that anyway each generation ).
